@ScaredFlamingo
Hey I thought I'd move us into the pregnancy board purely because there's a lot of people trying and don't want to rub our success in.
How are you getting on. 4 more weeks till we find out what were having.

ScaredFlamingo · 11/05/2020 07:34

@27andcounting That’s a good idea! I did also feel bad! Eek that’s so exciting!!
I’m good; nausea easing a bit but still pretty tired. Got the teeniest little bump - 10 weeks today! 3 until I have my scan (feels so far away!!).
Do you have a proper bump now? When you due?

27andcounting · 11/05/2020 10:29

@ScaredFlaming
I know I cannot wait.
Well just wait I'm now getting some insomnia haha.
My bump is defiantly growing but I had a little bit of tummy anyways hard to tell how much if that makes sense. I'm sure people will tell me once lockdown is lifted and I can see people again 😂.
Honestly the 3 weeks will fly by it's so exciting.
Due date is 25th October. When are they estimating yours to be?

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 11/05/2020 15:52

Oh god! I’m not looking forward to insomnia - still in the exhaustion stage haha!
I had a pretty flat stomach and I can definitely see a bump but not sure anyone else can yet haha! Yea that must be hard now you’re at telling people stage?
At moment 7th December but see what scan says!

27andcounting · 12/05/2020 11:21

@ScaredFlamingo
Yeah it's not the best but thankfully because I'm furloughed I manage a little cat nap now and then if I need it.
Yeah we did our post on FB after telling all of the closer people, but I still find it really weird that wit people I work with it's going to from normal nothing wrong to coming back with a bit of bump I'm sure it's going to turn some heads and start conversations for a while (whenever I do go back)
And same with family and friends to be honest.
Awww how exciting have you planned on how and when you're going to tell people yet?

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 12/05/2020 11:34

@27andcounting
Yea I am working from home, and have been since before I found out so it's been easy to hide and put "meetings" in if I need some down time. I've been feeling pretty awful last week or so too so it is nice not to have to be in an office.
Yea that will be weird... but I guess fun too?
We've told quite a few of the important people already but after the scan I think we'll do some more phone calls and FaceTiming! Then post on social media to capture everyone else :)

27andcounting · 18/05/2020 19:19

@ScaredFlamingo
How you getting one? Symptoms improving much yet?
Yeah excited to go back and see everyone and will be interesting if they notice and for the ones of Facebook whether they will say anything or if they think I've just put on a lot of lockdown weight Grin
Have you made an announcement yet?

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 18/05/2020 19:44

@27andcounting Eek exciting!!! Are you properly showing now?
I’m 11 weeks today and I've started showing a little now, I think people would notice but only because I was quite skinny before! We have our scan next Wednesday so after that, if all ok, we’ll do an announcement!
Do you know many others pregnant?
I’ve got my partners brother & wife expecting their second, a uni friend of his that I’m close to, my PT and now one of my best friends - all a few weeks behind me but so exciting!!

I was looking to get a planned c section but been doing some reading and I’m leaning towards a natural birth now... you thought about it at all?

27andcounting · 18/05/2020 20:28

Defiantly showing more but think it will still be a few more weeks before I go back to work.
Oh so exciting, what day is your scan? Can't believe I've never asked this but I'm assuming your UK? Where about's in the country are you?
Yeah I had a friend who gave birthday to a little girl last night, another friend who is due beginning of June and then I've got a friend from work whose just told me she's expecting in December so seems all go at the moment. And seems to be the year of girls as well. 3 weeks till we find out 💗💙

I think natural for as long as I have the choice. But happy with a c-section if required (I know a lot of people are dead set against it). Would love a water birth though. Read about hypnobirthing because even if you don't use it all apparently it's really helpful in general.

@ScaredFlamingo
Baby brain.... forgot to tag you. Also made me put the coffee away in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard earlier🤣

ScaredFlamingo · 19/05/2020 09:36

@27andcounting
So many babies!! I think I’m having a girl as well - do you have an inkling or a preference?
Wednesday next week is scan; fingers crossed all ok and then I can start shouting haha!
Yea in UK, I live in Surrey - you?

I wanted c section because of the planned-ness of it etc but after doing some reading it just not sure about the recovery. I don’t wanna spend my partners paternity leave with him having to look after me and the baby! I still want all the drugs. Yea, a friend recommended a book on hypnobirthing that I need to start reading!

Hahaha don’t worry, I find myself catching myself doing weird things like that! The exhaustion at beginning messed with my brain; my boss was like “is everything ok?” Because of it haha!

27andcounting · 19/05/2020 21:38

@ScaredFlamingo I can't decide, I dream girl but think boy (sort of I'm repeating myself)
So exciting wish they'd change the rules so your partner can go in, ours will be the second scan he's not been able to attend.... so far only seen the baby at 6 weeks when it didn't look much like a baby.
Yeah I'm Leicester.

Yeah I know what you mean. My friend ended up a epidural and she said it was literally the best thing haha.
I really need to start reading some books, thankfully I'm a quick reader when I get round to it.

Just wait I'm sure they'll only get weirder.

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 21/05/2020 14:52

@27andcounting HA! I am the other way round; I wanted a boy - I have a name ready and outfits planned but I have a very strong suspicion it's a girl. To be honest as long as it's healthy I don't mind!! I had a call yesterday to tell me he won't be allowed in but that they are going to play a 15 second clip back for me after the scan to record to show him. And I get pics etc. We're going to book private for 16 weeks to find out gender and I think they're allowing partners in at private ones.

6 days until my scan, I don't want to wish the days away as I am on annual leave as of tomorrow and want to enjoy it but also... just want the scan now haha!

Try Hypnobirthday by Hollie de Cruz - I started it yesterday and I thought it was going to be all hippy but it's quite good actually.

27andcounting · 29/05/2020 12:39

@ScaredFlamingo sorry been MIA been a long week 🤣 how did the scan go? Post a pic 😍

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 08/06/2020 18:09

@27andcounting hey!!! Scan went great, got a wriggler in there haha! Gender scan in couple weeks! How are you?

2020 baby
27andcounting · 08/06/2020 19:15

@ScaredFlamingo aww that's so great! Are you going privately for a gender scan?
I've got 20 week scan on Wednesday so will be finding out then hopefully... if not we're going to book a gender scan.

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 08/06/2020 21:10

Yea privately so my partner can come in with me! Eek, that’s so soon, how exciting!!
I can’t wait to find out so can start calling he/she instead of it haha

27andcounting · 08/06/2020 21:38

We were going to do the same but he said he rather buy baby stuff with the money for now as I'm still furloughed and then book a 4D scan to do together.
I know exactly what you mean I started just using he and she just kept changing which one but it and they sounded so informal.

@ScaredFlamingo

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 09/06/2020 11:24

@27andcounting Ah that's fair enough. Luckily we're getting most of our baby stuff from my brother as they're looking to get rid of everything and have had both a boy and a girl, so we should be saving a lot of money there!

27andcounting · 13/06/2020 10:56

@ScaredFlamingo
Wow that's really lucky! Bet that's going to be a massive help. Unfortunately my youngest niece is 4 so most of her stuff has already moved on.
But getting there now and getting more and more sorted.
Had 20 week scan on Wednesday, baby gave us a little wave, however they kept their legs tucked up so don't know whether it's a little boy or girl still 🙈🙈
Also found out I've got an anterior low placenta so need to be checked in 8 weeks to see whether it moves itself up or not. New worries 😫

How you getting on?

OP posts:
27andcounting · 13/06/2020 10:57

Forgot to add the picture.

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 17/06/2020 14:17

@27andcounting Oh no!! Cheeky baby - when can you find out??

Have you had any kicks yet? I’m waiting to start feeling baby moving. Can’t wait!!

Got my gender scan on Saturday - we’ve gone private because we’re impatient and because they’re letting partners in! Eek!

I’m sure the placenta won’t cause problems - what will happen if nothing changed at next appt?

Oh such a cute photo - so defined!!! X

27andcounting · 18/06/2020 09:58

@ScaredFlamingo they said they can check again at next scan which is August 5th but we will see if see if we find out or not.... by that point I might've wait.

Got definite movements like my tummy is doing little flips and soft nudges. Not kicks yet.

Oh that's exciting!! Let me know what they say!

If it hasn't move will mean a c-section and risk of premature labour... my mum had it with me and she was in hospital for 8 weeks because it's over the cervix it can cause the cervix to thin early so if you get a bleed you're basically on bed rest and then I was emergency c-section 5 weeks early. But we will see.

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 18/06/2020 12:15

@27andcounting Oh that's so far away! You could go private? Ours is only £50... ?

Ahhh that's very exciting!!! I've been feeling something but not 100% sure it's baby and not just gas haha!

Ah I see... that's not great news but I'm sure it'll sort itself out? And I am sure you will be looked after and everything will go smoothly if you have to be admitted!

ScaredFlamingo · 29/06/2020 10:48

@27andcounting - Hey! How is everything going?? We found out we're having a girl!!! Did you manage to find out yet?
