Yep, tea and coffee made me vomit until around 11 weeks.
I'm 26 weeks and fine now, have my one morning coffee to set me up for the day.

Roselilly36 · 08/05/2020 11:17

I went off tea, before I knew I was pregnant. It tasted awful, like the milk was sour. Congrats of your pregnancy OP Flowers

Shanlou12 · 08/05/2020 11:21

Glad I’m not the only one with this strange aversion haha doesn’t make me feel sick I just really don’t fancy Drinking it anymore thanks
@Roselilly36 congrats to you both too 😊😊

I am the same as @Roselilly36 since getting pregnant, I find the milk in tea tastes like it's gone off. 22 weeks in and still can't stand a cuppa. Used to drink several cups a day.

Smell of coffee is still horrible as well.

Youvegotafriendinme · 08/05/2020 11:37

My pregnant with DS I couldn’t drink tea the whole pregnancy and I was a 6+ cup of tea person. Second time I was pregnant I knew before the positive test as I went off tea!

Shanlou12 · 08/05/2020 11:40

Strange what we go off isn’t it 🤣

Dollywilde · 08/05/2020 11:40

Ooh that’s the same symptom as my auntie gets, she said she always knew she was pregnant before she did a test as tea just tasted vile - and she’s a total tea addict usually.

Shanlou12 · 08/05/2020 11:41

I didn’t have any symptoms Atal with my 1st didn’t even find out until 15 weeks PG so these symptoms are a first for me hahah

How strange!

Robs20 · 08/05/2020 11:42

Yep me too. I’ve only just started drinking it again and babies are 2 weeks old. Same thing happened in my first pregnancy too!

Shanlou12 · 08/05/2020 11:43

Sounds like it’s a very common thing then

Dollywilde · 08/05/2020 11:49

@shanlou12

That’s the thing, I always thought it was unique to my auntie until I saw this thread, hadn’t realised it was common at all! Definitely not one of my symptoms, I’m burning through it Grin

Shanlou12 · 08/05/2020 11:52

Yea Iv not heard of it before either until this @Dollywilde

I even went out and bought decaf tea trying to be good and now I just don’t wanna drink it haha

First thing that made me think I was pregnant was my coffee tasted like an ashtray! Then for the first 14 weeks couldn't even stand the smell of it. One day woke up and all I wanted again was coffee! Strange!!

SpicedCamomile · 08/05/2020 11:54

Tea made me gag when I was pregnant. I still can’t stand it and my youngest is ten.

roarfeckingroar · 08/05/2020 11:55

I had this in early pregnancy. I've started drinking tea again in the last few weeks (now 17+5)

Shanlou12 · 08/05/2020 11:56

How strange hehe

I’ve totally gone off tea and coffee, I can’t even bear my husband drinking them near me now!

Shuckle · 08/05/2020 12:04

Yep, from around 6 weeks onwards tea smelled and tasted like metal to me, just the thought of it would make me sick. Was a very unpleasant time as I am normally a big tea drinker and most of my fluids in a day come from tea. One day when I was about 16 weeks I suddenly fancied a cuppa again (about the same time my sickness disappeared) and have been fine ever since and drinking as much tea as ever, currently 27 weeks. Very strange time and was very glad it wasn't a permanent thing. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and hope your tea aversion goes away soon!

KnobwithaK · 08/05/2020 12:08

Yeah, massively. Went back to it in 2nd trimester and now going off it a bit again in 3rd. Unfortunately I'm now addicted to caffeine again (even only having 2 cups so well within NHS guidelines) so if I don't have it I feel even more exhausted than usual. Gah!

Shanlou12 · 08/05/2020 12:09

Aww good glad it went away haha Thanks @Shuckle good luck to you too! Flowers

I usually drink multiple teas throughout the day but since I've been pregnant I can't stand the thought of it. I'm 21+3 and went off it straight away.

Shanlou12 · 08/05/2020 12:12

Really @KnobwithaK honestly didn’t realise it was this common! At the minute I really really want to drink lots of sprite and lemonade 🤦🏻‍♀️ I am a big fizzy drink drinker anyway (normally Diet Coke) and I know it’s not really recommend but I really crave it hahah Iv been allowing myself one small glass of sprite a day but could easily drink a lot more Blush

Me too, quite upset about it as I LOVED tea before! I wonder how quickly I’ll want it again after baby is born

Shanlou12 · 08/05/2020 12:14

How far are you @Sunnygirl123
