Please tell me this is a evap line

Hi! I have a 2 month old DD who is our first. I have been on the pill very reliably (12:15pm every day without fail) since 3 weeks after birth just to make sure I was covered.
Don’t get me wrong we would love another child but we weren’t planning on trying until at least October! So if this is true it will be a bit of a shock! Happy though nonetheless.

I have no symptoms, which I did with DD. I had bad morning sickness. The only reason I took a test that was lying around in the back of the cupboard was because of some bleeding. I had just finished what me and HV believed to be my first period (even though I am EBF, grrrr lol) and then 3 or 4 days later I had a spot of bleeding which I thought oh? Implantation bleeding?? Which could possibly make sense after a ‘spontaneous kitchen session’ a week or so beforehand... (I wasn’t bleeding for the record lol as it was very on and off! So could have been ovulating?)
not due my period yet but I might not even know for sure then either because it might not even be regular yet! Who knows... might need to go to Tesco to get another test though....

I should add that the test didn’t work straight away. You know how the control line shows up straight away and then you have to wait for the test line? That didn’t happen. Maybe I didn’t pee on it right. So it could be false

I would say... defo not an evap! Too dark/coloured. However, could be hormones left over from your pregnancy? Xx

How long does it take for HCG levels to fall after having a baby?

I second @Mummyspider27 that's not evap. Could be left over hcg from previous pg though but surely 2 months on it should be much fainter than that? I'd be testing again in a couple of days and asking for bloods! I'm scared for you 😭🤣 good luck OP!

I think you need to take another test, because that one looks suspiciously like you are going to have baby number 2 just after Christmas...

I would take another tomorrow to see what happens but i one took a preg test as was a few days late and it was positive then i came on my period later that day. I mentioned it to sexual health clinic as i was seeing them to renew my pill a few days later and she said sometimes if there is blood present in the urine flow ie just before period started in my case I wouldn't have noticed it earlier in the day then this can cause a false positive. Now I don't know if this is scientifically proven or just the opinion of the nurse i saw that day but I definitely was not pregnant. 🤷‍♀️

Gosh OP what a shock it must be to be worrying about this so soon after your daughter!

I've never used that type of test but it does look positive from what I've seen of Evaps on here

Did you rub the test strip at all? My negatives used to turn positive if I rubbed the strip..

They looked just like that. All smudged. Negative tho.

Yes how long does it take for previous pregnancy hormones to not show up on a test... Will have to google

Another test is on the cards! Either I will go and buy one or order one in on the shopping which is coming on Saturday. But that’s a long time away from now lol

If it’s positive I don’t even know how to begin telling DP lol! Not sure if I should tell him before I actually know for sure.

Did you use the same jar as with DD to collect the urine sample?

I got a positive like this (I had rinsed it well) when my DS was 8 weeks old.

No I didn’t. I didn’t even have a container so I just peed on it. I know these tests are better when dipped into a container of urine though. So that’s another possibility it might not be positive! How did you find out for sure that you weren’t pregnant?

How did I find it for sure? Period. Negatives that were actually negative.

If you dip the wee end of that test in water (just a teeny bit) it might well clear out all the extra dye smudged a cross it and make it look more clear.

It does look suspiciously positive though.

I think it looks positive. By 2 months pregnancy hormones should be long gone. I would be testing again ASAP. Good luck

That's doesn't look like an evap to me, it's a bit spoiled though, definitely essential to go get a new test

If you peed directly on it then I'm going for dye run. You can even see where they dye has ran from the control line and settled in the test line.

Yes lol I will defo let you know the outcome!! Not sure if I will make it out to get a test. Still a bit nervous going out with the baby except for quiet walks. If not I can just about manage waiting until the shopping delivery on Saturday lol.
Also I told DP and he wasn’t mad... yay lol. I think he was just a bit shocked like I was. I just laughed and said omg I can’t even tell you, but it really isn’t funny😂😂 he understands it could be an evap line though so we aren’t getting emotional yet lol. Only time will tell!
