Yes I've had back pain too @Piglet11 and hip pain! It's hard not to worry about everything isn't it! Bump position and shape is totally to do with your body shape though so everyone is different.

Just in waiting room now...

Good luck @professorastrocat x

professorastrocat · 04/06/2020 15:04

All fine! Baby facing up, facing down, everything awkward! Had to half empty my bladder TWICE...dance around, jiggle on the bed. Then she had to double check one hand didn't have six fingers....! got there in the end though.
And she said she thinks it's a girl! In shock!

Right decision made about our childcare issue for the scan with the cardiologist tomorrow - contacted Dd1's nursery (they have reopened 1st June but we had previously decided not to send her back until July) and explained the situation and they have agreed and have the space in one of their bubbles to have her just for the day. Really surprised tbh that they could be so accommodating given all the restrictions on numbers and it be so last minute. Definitely the best solution and is still in keeping with the rules. Now just got to hope that the scan itself shows things aren't as serious as we fear.

Piglet11 · 04/06/2020 19:12

Aww that’s great news @professorastrocat! Delighted for you.

So glad you have managed to sort something out @Talcott2007, a slight weight of your shoulders with everything else you are going through. 🤞The scan goes well. X

whatsthecraic91 · 04/06/2020 20:12

@professorastrocat lovely news glad all is well 😁

I've booked another scan for Saturday, really crampy and a lot of spotting this last couple of days and my local EPU don't seem to give a shit so I'm annoyed about that!!

Really can't wait to see baby and make sure they are ok! Such a stressful time!!

whatsthecraic91 · 04/06/2020 20:12

@Talcott2007 I'll be thinking of you tomorrow, all the best 🤞🏼x

professorastrocat · 04/06/2020 21:12

Thanks everyone!

@Talcott2007 everything is crossed for you for tomorrow for it all being fine. Glad you've sorted the arrangements. Will be thinking of you.

@whatsthecraic91 oh no how worrying and frustrating they don't want to know. What sort of colour spotting?

OP posts:
whatsthecraic91 · 04/06/2020 21:22

@professorastrocat they said they would only see me if I'm soaking a pad 🙄 it's mostly pink and sometimes brown. I had bright red on one wipe last weekend and I called EPU after that and they weren't concerned at all 😓 but I've had no red since. So hopefully the scan on Saturday will put my mind at ease x

professorastrocat · 04/06/2020 21:39

@whatsthecraic91 ah, yes I'm sure the scan will give you peace of mind

I missed loads this afternoon!

Congratulations @professorastrocat!! So pleased it went well.

And great news @Talcott2007 - good luck for the scan.

@whatsthecraic91 I had spotting on and off up until about 14wks right from the very start. They have no idea why and it appears to have gone away. I know how frustrating it is when EPU turn you away, fingers crossed for Saturday

Needallthesleep · 05/06/2020 10:35

@Talcott2007 thinking of you today. Let us know how it goes. Sounds like you had a really good solution.

BooMamaBear · 05/06/2020 11:52

@professorastrocat -glad the scan went well!

@talcott2007-is your scan with the cardiologist tomorrow if so hope it all goes ok!!

@Piglet11 -when you get a bit further along and your bump starts to come out under your boobs it might not look as low down -mine was really low down to start off with when it first started growing but as the baby (or babies in your case) gets bigger it doesn't look as low I'm sure it's fine!

@whatsthecraic91 -I hope your spotting stops soon and all is well! Xx

Piglet11 · 05/06/2020 12:05

Thanks @BooMamaBear, I’m a ftm too so maybe that has something to do with it!

Good luck today @Talcott2007, will be thinking of you!

Sorry to hear you have had spotting @whatsthecraic91, I bled from 5-8 and a half weeks (bright red period like blood which eventually tailed off to pink/brown spotting). Was absolutely terrifying at the time. Eventually had a scan at 7 weeks which showed I was carrying twins (massive massive shock)! Hopefully it will all be ok!

BooMamaBear · 05/06/2020 12:34

Just having a random nosebleed I know they say it common in pregnancy can't remember last time I had one tho! Xxx

Needallthesleep · 05/06/2020 13:52

Oh I didn’t realise they were so common.

My DD is back at nursery, and I’m on annual leave from work, just sitting in front of the TV. I’m feeling so so lazy!!

Talcott2007 · 05/06/2020 13:56

The scan I'm utterly relieved to say went really well. The consultant performed the scan and found no obvious defects/anomalies in her heart or anywhere else (again she was not cooperating with how she was laying so it took a long time and my bump is actually a little sore from all the prodding!) Because we are still only 18w so a little smaller than when you would normally do the actual anomaly scan they have booked me to see them for a scan in early July (so 22w) rather than at the local hospital where I was due to have the routine 20w scan just to follow up and really rule out the possibility entirely. One thing they did identify was that I have a 'marginal cord' which is where the cord is attached to the placenta at the edge rather than the centre but happens in about 8% of pregnancies. It does add an extra risk factor particularly combined with my clotting disorder for a couple of complications later on - pre-term labour and placental abruption. But we know about it now so can be prepared and frankly that's a problem for another day to think about. Honestly I was so mentally prepared for 'bad' news about her heart that now it's not happened the last weeks all feels a bit surreal now!

Piglet11 · 05/06/2020 14:41

Oh @talcott2007 what a relief. So happy for you!

professorastrocat · 05/06/2020 15:28

Great news @Talcott2007 I'm sure you feel a huge weight off your mind.

OP posts:
whatsthecraic91 · 05/06/2020 19:06

@Piglet11 wow twins congratulations 😁 I had a scan at 8 weeks and all was well & everything probably still is but I need that reassurance! But the bleeding is so scary 😓

@Talcott2007 fab news!! I'm sure you're so relieved!

Wise0wl · 05/06/2020 19:21

Great news @Talcott2007! So glad it went well. I hope you can relax and enjoy the weekend now!

DPSawMyUsername · 05/06/2020 19:52

Lovely scans ladies. Bumps galore it seems too. I love catching up on here and I wanna join in 😄👶🏻 18 weeks yesterday.

How you doing @whatsthecraic91?

Needallthesleep · 05/06/2020 20:07

Woooop @Talcott2007! So pleased to hear it went well. And sounds like you’re being really well cared for.
