Pregnant but bleeding

Buglee28 · 25/04/2020 17:45

Hi, just after advice, I'm 5 weeks pregnant, I started bleeding yesterday morning, it quickly got heavy but today it seems to be dying down although there have been a few clots but they've only been small. I've had cramps in my stomach but nothing half as bad as the miscarriage I had 7 months ago. Is there much of a chance that it can be breakthrough bleeding or is it likely that I'm having another miscarriage?

I have phoned the hospital and due to a previous ectopic they have booked me in for a scan Wednesday. I'm so scared I'm gonna get there and yet again face the heartbreak of seeing no heartbeat on the screen.

Has anyone else had this and had a successful pregnancy? I need something to give me hope? As much as i am trying I'm finding it very difficult to stay positive as this is all very similar to what happened 7 months ago 😔

Thank you

I'm going through the same thing pretty much. How bad is your bleeding? Read my thread and they are telling me the basically they same thing: HCG and Ultrasound.

I'm stressed about a miscarriage. Never had a pregnancy before. What is a miscarriage like?

Worst case scenario I'm hoping it's a threatened massage because women make it through those.

Keep me posted!

Check out this thread.

I meant Threatened Miscarriage

Not massage. Autocorrect Fail.

40FirstTime · 25/04/2020 19:14

I might be 3 weeks. I'm pretty afraid....
I'd hate to go through all of this happiness to have it go down the drain. Literally.

Buglee28 · 25/04/2020 19:53

My last one was at 6 weeks as well, I've also had an ectopic which was found at 8weeks3 days. Both for me personally have been pretty traumatic to be honest. Had the same awful 5 day wait too, it feels like the longest days ever. I'm really struggling with the possibility of going through it for a 3rd time. My bleeding started off really light and then got heavier, I've had clots as well which is really concerning. It's eased off a bit now, I'm praying it will stop. I do know of people who have bled for a few weeks at the start of their pregnancies and they've gone on to have their babies.

As hard as it try to stay positive. I hope things turn out okay for you.

@Buglee28 How can I attach a photo? This wait until a transvaginal Ultrasound on Tuesday is killing me!

What is a miscarriage like? I am 3 weeks, and the bleeding isn't like a period. They won't tell me if it's a miscarriage until my scan. If my Blood HCG is doubled on Monday. I'll have some hope.

Here's is my thread about what I am trying to get help with.

@Buglee28

I'm in the same boat. Check out the links of threads I posted. Also on my profile is a link to my favorite old thread YOU WILL LOVE!

We have the same problem and same concerns. Hang in there sister! I think you will be fine and they will see a heartbeat on Wednesday. YOU BETTER KEEP ME POSTED! I can't wait to hear I'm right!
You & the baby will be fine.

On a happy note. Do you want a boy or girl? Names picked out?

maria2bela · 26/04/2020 05:56

Hi just wanted to send hugs...I've had an ectopic too and it was awful. So sorry for your losses.

If you'll be 6 weeks on Wednesday then you may see a heartbeat but if your ovulation was a few days out it may be too early still and you may not see a heartbeat. The ultrasound would be good at detecting what the cause of bleeding is, hopefully it may just be a subchronic hemorrhage. Unfortunately bleeding can lead you either way in early pregnancy. Really hope your scan goes OK on Monday x

Buglee28 · 28/04/2020 13:17

@40FirstTime how did your blood test go? Has your bleed calmed down at all? I will update you tomorrow morning on scan and let you know the outcome. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and still hoping for the best tomorrow, even if they can't see the baby through an ultrasound they may be able to see it on an internal scan hopefully. My bleed has slowed down a lot, to the point it's almost stopped and I've not had anymore pain since Saturday so it's becoming more hopeful.

I already have a wonderful 6 year old little boy so a little girl would be lovely but I'll be happy either way ☺️ how about you? We have a name for a girl which would be Kareena-Ann. She'd be named after her nan who sadly passed away 3 years ago and also after me and my nan and great Nan as well all have Ann at the end of our names and that's a tradition I'd like to carry on. Yet to find a name for another boy tho but hopefully by the time the baby is here we'll have that covered. Have you given names much thought ?

@maria2bela I've looked into the subchorionic hemorrhage, that seems to be along the same lines as what I've had over the weekend. Hopefully tho now that it's calmed down it will stop completely.

@Buglee28 Really do hope so, hope scan goes well for you tomorrow! X

Nannon145 · 07/05/2020 15:38

@40FirstTime @maria2bela what was the outcome? How did both of you get on? Going through similar now

Nannon145 · 07/05/2020 15:39

@
@Buglee28 how did your scan go?

Buglee28 · 07/05/2020 15:46

@Nannon145 I had a miscarriage sadly 😔 have you been booked in for a scan? How far along are you?

OP posts:
Nannon145 · 07/05/2020 16:01

@Buglee28 I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm 5+3 at the moment. Since the bleeding all pregnancy tests have come back with stronger lines. My GP told me to ring back next week if I'm still concerned and he can see what he can do in regards to a scan. Just want everything to be alright 💔

Nannon145 · 07/05/2020 16:04

@Buglee28 my bleeding started last Tuesday so I would have been 4+1. Started with brown spotting for 2 days then light red bleeding but only when I wiped, nothing ever went into the pad. That stopped Sunday morning and then had very very very light brown spotting hardly there until Tuesday

Buglee28 · 07/05/2020 16:13

@Nannon145 That sounds like it could be implantation bleed. If the bleed has stopped I'd say that's a good sign. The stronger lines on the pregnancy test are a good sign as well. I kept doing tests which were still positive but the lines were growing fainter each day. Hopefully they will book you in for an early scan to check that everything is all okay. Just try to stay as positive as you can.

Nannon145 · 07/05/2020 16:23

I'm trying @Buglee28, it's just such a worry isn't it! Did your bleeding just continue and not stop then?

I am definitely going to ring on Monday even though I've had no spotting for a while just to say I'm still so concerned.

Buglee28 · 07/05/2020 17:01

I would if I were you, they'll be more inclined to scan you early. Mine started but got heavy really quick, I had severe stomach pains which almost had me on the floor and reduced me to tears and then the bleed calmed down for a few hours but soon got heavy again. I'm actually still waiting for the whole miscarriage process to be over and I found out last Wednesday that I'd lost the baby.

Yes it is extremely worrying and being in limbo and not knowing what's going on doesn't help at all. Just try to rest and keep your mind busy with something else if you can. I cross stitch which is a god send when things get too much for me and helped massively over the weekend when I was waiting to be scanned.

Buglee28 · 07/05/2020 17:02

@Nannon145 have you had any pain at all?

See my reply above, sorry forgot to tag you.

OP posts:
Nannon145 · 07/05/2020 17:16

@Buglee28 not had any cramping. The only thing I've had is like a pinchy feeling in my lower stomach that lasted about 20 minutes.

I know! And it's so hard to keep your mind of it when you're at home on lockdown! I normally would be so busy at work that time would just fly by but it's hard when I'm just sat at home on my own when my partner is at work. Luckily he's home all weekend now until Monday so that should keep my mind of it because we can go for walks together and stuff xx

Nannon145 · 07/05/2020 17:46

@Buglee28 just wiped and there was the slightest bit of red blood 💔

Nannon145 · 07/05/2020 18:55

Literally like a slither of red blood and been to the toilet twice since and nothing there. My body is driving me crazy 😩 I can't deal with this waiting game

Furbsies · 07/05/2020 19:15

@nannon145 I am in the same boat, with the spotting and the red blood on wiping. Had a scan and they said nothing was clear from my scan, just came out more anxious. Have to wait till 20th for another scan to see if anything has changed.

Furbsies · 07/05/2020 19:16

@nannon145 hang in there. I'm sorry it's happening to you. It's worrying. Especially at times like this when it's so hard to get a hold of anyone to speak to

Nannon145 · 07/05/2020 19:24

@Furbsies how far gone were you when you went for your scan?

Furbsies · 07/05/2020 21:30

@nannon145 I should have been 8+3wks but they said it looked much small. The doctor essentially said it looks like I have my dates wrong or it could be MC but we can't say until the next scan because I don't fit their "criteria" for MC... Just have to wait till 20th May now.
