FTMinduction · 22/04/2020 09:10

Had a growth scan at 38+1, estimated 7lbs4oz. Due to be induced tomorrow at 41+0.

What did your babies weigh at 41 weeks?

OP posts:
OnlyToWin · 22/04/2020 09:14

7:15 and 8:6 (both just over 41 weeks)

Dontstepinthecowpat · 22/04/2020 09:17

I’ve had two born at 42 weeks, DS 7lb 12, DD 8lb 4.
My 39 week DS was 6lb 12 and 40 week DS 7lb 9
Good luck, all mine were induced!

Nightmanagerfan · 22/04/2020 09:19

Baby born at 40+6, he weighed 7lbs 10oz or 3.25kg.

puds11 · 22/04/2020 09:19

Baby born at 41+3 7lbs 1oz.

DontBuyLangClegCashmere · 22/04/2020 09:20

I had DD at 42 weeks, she was 8lb 7oz and DS at 41 weeks he was 7lb 8oz

Hope all goes well OP

Bert2020 · 22/04/2020 09:27

7lb 13oz at 41+2 was estimated 11lb. Hope all goes well.

Twitchett22 · 22/04/2020 09:27

Mine was 9lb2 at 41+1! We had a growth scan at 31 weeks and was told she was on track to be average and predicted an 8lb baby, I'm not sure growth scans are ever really very accurate. If you're worried about a big baby though I think they're easier to deliver! There was no stopping DD when she came because she was heavy, 1 push and she was out!

yatapina · 22/04/2020 09:30

40+6 (basically 41!) and he was 6lbs 15oz.

Was told to expect a 10lber as he was measuring big 🤔

eventhecathasapenis · 22/04/2020 09:31

I had a 42 baby weighing 8lb 11oz (he was induced) and a 41 weeker born under his own steam weighing 9lb 1oz. No diabetes just big, chunky and long boys.

It's entirely down to genetics. My family has some extremely tall men in it and do bear in mind that sonographers can't tell the difference between weight and length on a scan. DS1 was predicted to be 11lb and DS2 13lb!!! I told them to f off because I wasn't diabetic and knew my genetics.
I also wanted to let you know that big babies aren't the nightmare birth you get told either. Big babies almost birth themselves with gravity's help 😂 so please don't worry about weight. As long as you're not an uncontrolled diabetic your body will not grow a baby you cannot cope with.

TheVanguardSix · 22/04/2020 09:31

Mine were born at 40 weeks, 8 and a half pounds DCs1 and 2.
DC3 was 8 pounds.
DC1 was predicted to be about 5 pounds at 40 weeks, so I was relieved he was far from that!

SmileyCloud · 22/04/2020 09:36

Scan at 40+3 estimated 8lb 9oz, born at 41+3- 7lb 1oz!!

babbaganoush · 22/04/2020 09:39

Born at 41 weeks and he weighed 9lbs 6oz. Born at home, all straight forward. Wishing you all the best!

SansaClegane · 22/04/2020 10:02

DC1 born at exactly 41w was 9lbs 13.
DC2 at 41+3 was 10lbs 1.
DC3 at 39w (ELCS) was 10lbs exactly- good thing I didn't wait for him to show up in his own time! Grin

Buyitinbamboo · 22/04/2020 10:09

11lb at 40+2. Growth scans showed 8lb despite previous baby being 10lb6 at 39 weeks. Same sonographer with both children and she was spot on with number 1so that was a surprise

BaroleCaskin · 22/04/2020 10:12

8lbs5 oz

happymummy12345 · 22/04/2020 10:15

My son was born at 40+6, and was 6lb 7oz. We had a growth scan and knew from that the baby would be nice and little

Sevo7 · 22/04/2020 10:17

DD born at 40+10 days was 7lb 11oz which surprised me as DS who was born at 40+3 weighed 9lb 10oz and I was told to expect a similar birth weight for DD. Infact at a growth scan at 36 weeks I was told she was already over 7lbs which clearly was wrong!

xyzandabc · 22/04/2020 10:17

40+12 - 7lb10
40+10 - 7lb5
40+13 - 10lb5

SquirtleSquad · 22/04/2020 10:17

40+6 birth weight was 8lb10

LittleAtlas · 22/04/2020 10:23

At 39 week scan DS was estimated at 7lb 12 oz. He was born weighing 7 lb 10oz at 40+6 weeks

Good luck!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 22/04/2020 10:38

Weight estimates are generally +/- 10% so that would be for your baby at 38 weeks 6 lbs 8oz to almost 8lbs. You can generally assume 1/2 lb per week weight gain. So by that reckoning your baby at 41 weeks should be between approximately 8lbs and 9lbs 8oz. But obviously sometimes the estimates can be way off depending on how accurate the measurements have been.

SparkleUK · 22/04/2020 11:02

Little man was born at 41+1 weighing 7lbs 6. Didn't have scans but midwife estimated over 8lbs off bump measuring.

Yorkshirepudding1987 · 22/04/2020 11:22

41+1 8lbs 10oz

percentageshelp · 22/04/2020 12:58

DS 40+8 8lb12oz

HarrietM87 · 22/04/2020 14:14

My bump measured small so I had a growth scan at 36 weeks and he was estimated to be 7.5lbs at birth (so no growth problems). I went 12 days over, born at 41+5 and he was 8lb 12oz (3980g). So assuming he’d put on half a pound per week the scan estimate was only a little bit under. I had a fantastic easy birth in the end.
