Hi,

I have just joined here so I would appreciate some advice. I have just come off microgynon and wanted to hear from anyone how long it look them to conceive after coming off that particular pill? Did it happen within a few months coming off it or did it take some time? We have just decided we wanted to try.

Thanks for any advice :)

I came off the microgynon in the March and conceived early December. No sure if that was because of the microgynon or just how long it would have taken anyway. Did have a few months with really weird periods about 3 months after I stopped taking it though . Good luck!

Hi
I came off this pill end of November last year and had a positive pregnancy test in January.

GreekOddess · 19/04/2020 22:06

Straight away.

New2020 · 20/04/2020 03:28

I came off it end Nov and conceived end Feb

mumma2b2020 · 20/04/2020 04:54

I came off it in April and conceived in July x

LunaNova · 20/04/2020 06:41

I was on microgynon for 9 years, came off it in June and conceived in July :)

TheEndIsBillNighy · 20/04/2020 06:44

I came off in January, had planned to give it until September for my body to adjust before we were ready to start trying, but unbeknownst to me, I fell pregnant in April instead - the happiest surprise of my life! (Albeit 7 years ago now!)

HollyBollyBooBoo · 20/04/2020 06:59

3 years but clearly it had nothing to do with being on the pill for a decade!

KateF1107 · 20/04/2020 07:01

With my first baby I came off beginning of May and found out I was pregnant mid June. I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant and came off beginning of July and was pregnant by October.
Good luck! X

After 12 years on it I got pregnant whilst taking it! Second time, first month afterwards.

wannabebump · 20/04/2020 08:50

Took me 100+ days to have a period after stopping microgynon, stopped it in the August and fell pregnant the following June. It was ectopic though, after medical management, we started TTC again in Oct 19 and our 12 week scan is this week 🙂 x

Thatsanicepear · 20/04/2020 08:53

Came off it in September 2017, conceived in March 2018. Sadly lost that pregnancy but conceived again in March 2019 and had my son in January. I was on it for nearly 20 years though. I had some bleeding in early pregnancy which the doctors said could have been because of being on the pill for so long.

bluebell94 · 20/04/2020 09:03

I came off it in September and conceived in February. I only had 2 periods in that time though, not sure if that was to do with being on it for 11 years or not x

SpiltMilk100 · 20/04/2020 09:07

Came off it in the July was pregnant by Xmas

Elouera · 20/04/2020 09:24

How soon someone conceived afterwards isn't really relevant. When they ovulated again is! There is still only a 1 in 5 chance of conceiving each month- IF all is working well.

The pill only has a half life of

myfirsttimehere · 20/04/2020 11:00

I came off it in early December, conceived early January!

RonBurgundyspanpipe · 20/04/2020 12:24

No period for six months then bang, first time.

Moo678 · 20/04/2020 13:23

1st baby I had a positive pregnancy test 6 wks after I stopped taking the pill.

Current pregnancy I stopped taking the pill at the end of January and got my BFP last week.

Lovebug06 · 20/04/2020 13:48

Id like to know this but for gederal which I came off in Feb. Currently got my 2nd AF. The first one I think was a withdrawal bleed too, but today it has come again bang on time so I'm hoping this is a good sign that my body is getting back to normal although I'm probably just hopeful!

SparkleUK · 20/04/2020 14:43

I came off Levest which I was told is like another version of it in March, had first proper period mid April which I wanted for cycle tracking and conceived May with beautiful little boy

EssElsiee · 20/04/2020 17:12

I wonder if it matters how long you were on it for? I was on it for about 8 years.. and for reasons to long to explain I had to go through IVF and the doctor at the clinic told me my ovaries were basically in hibernation, took a lot of medication to ‘wake them up’! I can only imagine how long it may have taken naturally

bluebell94 · 20/04/2020 18:33

@EssElsiee I also wondered that. I was on it for 11.5 years and had a relatively regular cycle prior, then came off it and only had 2 AFs in just over 6 months. I think it must play some part but maybe not for everyone

Moo678 · 20/04/2020 19:24

@EssElsiee I was on it for 9 years before 1st baby. I was very surprised to conceive so quickly

MoominKitty · 20/04/2020 19:42

Was on this for 15 years, stopped taking it sept 2017 got pregnant March 2019 now have a lovely 15 week old.

My periods kept to the same cycle I've had since I started them at 8, but you have such a tiny window each month to catch it can take time to get it right.

Shani123 · 20/04/2020 21:18

I fell straight away. My last pill was end of August, came on 29/8, ovulated 8/9 and got my BFP 21/9 Smile currently 34+2 !
