When does energy come back?

I’m 13 weeks and still have no energy! The house is a mess but have no energy for a proper clean. Even taking a shower and drying my hair feels like a mammoth task! Please tell me it gets better soon?

I think it's on their 18th birthday

KHall84 · 12/04/2020 20:37

I got mine back about 20 weeks x

concernedforthefuture · 12/04/2020 20:39

Lol @Delbelleber. Mine are 8 & 10 and I was coming on to say that I'm still waiting... Grin

Delbelleber · 12/04/2020 20:41

Mine are 7 and nearly 12 Grin and of course this bump isn't doing much for my energy levels although it is keeping me awake at night!

catinb0oots · 12/04/2020 20:42

Ds1 is 21 in August. I'm still knackered.

Delbelleber · 12/04/2020 20:44

Must be the 21st birthday then Hmm

Undomesticgodde55 · 12/04/2020 20:45

I got a bit of energy back around 14-15 weeks but still had to have early nights. The "glow" is a total myth.

Lilice · 12/04/2020 20:46

Maybe the tiredness doesn't go away but we just get used to it

NoParticularPattern · 12/04/2020 20:47

Second trimester was best for me. Then third trimester begins the next excruciatingly tiring two decades of your life. Longer if you have more.

JungleGiraffe · 12/04/2020 20:48

I'm 16 weeks and am still pretty tired, especially in the evenings... but I'm wondering if some of it is just quarantine boredom tbh

apple777 · 12/04/2020 20:57

@Delbelleber 😂🙈 Oh gosh I really hope to feel at least a little better before then haha!

Not long over the all day sickness so was hoping my energy would come back once the sickness left 😫

Can so relate to this! I’m 13+4 and I would say my energy is slowly creeping back now. I’m hoping it will spur me into cleaning as our house is also a mess but I have definitely done today than I have in weeks. I’m trying to just listen to my body and do what I can otherwise I feel awful later.

LexiM · 12/04/2020 22:27

Was meant to say “done more today” 😂

Greenmarmalade · 12/04/2020 22:28

16 weeks for me, every time!

Chanel05 · 12/04/2020 22:29

My tiredness went at around 16 weeks. I'd heard from lots of women about this burst of energy I'd get. Well I can't say that I've had a burst, I feel generally normal now, energy wise, but not more than average.

UrsulaSings · 12/04/2020 23:19

I've just felt more tired in second trimester

Flutterbunny · 12/04/2020 23:30

@UrsulaSings - this is how I feel too. 21 weeks today and I just feel completely exhausted all day.
The lockdown is certainly not helping me, I'm getting up really late in the morning, slobbing around all day doing nothing and then going to bed past midnight. I really need to get into a better routine.

whatswithtodaytoday · 12/04/2020 23:33

I stopped feeling stuck around 18/19 weeks and my energy came back for a while. You probably won't feel full of vigour and enthusiasm though, just a bit less shit.

Indigogirl88 · 13/04/2020 07:46

@Greenmarmalade yes I'm 15 and I'd say I'm just tentatively starting to feel myself again , I even vacuumed yesterday I was proud of myself 😃

GaaaaarlicBread · 13/04/2020 07:53

Hi I’m pregnant with my first, I got my energy back around 14 weeks, then plummeted again around 17 weeks and got it back again somewhat at 20 weeks but I do need to nap occasionally in the day and I’m not sleeping at night at all! But I can clean etc no problem

GaaaaarlicBread · 13/04/2020 07:55

@apple777 my sickness stopped at 10 weeks but took another 4 weeks to actually have any energy it was like the all day sickness took every ounce of energy out of me ! So happy you’re over the sickness it really is horrible !

wonderstuff · 13/04/2020 08:04

Bless you and, I think it really varies, I remember with my second having some more energy around 16 weeks. With my first I went from not functioning to barely functioning after the worst of the sickness past.. I felt quite bright the first 48 hours after giving birth, before sleep deprivation kicked in.

Lazydaisydaydream · 13/04/2020 08:07

I think at about fifteen weeks I stopped feeling like I was sleep walking all day from being so tired. A warning though - in my first pregnancy the tiredness came back with a vengeance at about seven months pregnant.

Also lots of PP have made comments about being tired when the baby is here, but honestly for me the tiredness in pregnancy was worse than being tired when he was newborn! I think because I knew that if I slept more I wouldn't be tired then... Whereas when pregnant it doesn't seem to matter how much I sleep I'm still just as tired!

helpwithhouse · 13/04/2020 08:16

I'm the same as PP.
I was exhausted right through pregnancy. Absolutely exhausted, never felt tiredness like it.
Everyone took great pleasure in telling me it was only going to get worse.

DD is now 14months and has still never slept through...but within a few days of her being born my energy gradually came back.
Definitely quality or quantity for sleep!!
And not throwing up constantly helps too 🤣

Ang3113 · 13/04/2020 09:14

I'm still tired, but I've had enough energy to actually want to do stuff since about 18 weeks.
