Wow lucky you- skipped the blardy sickness

My mum didn't find out she was expecting my youngest sister until 6 months (this was her 7th pregnancy too!), she describes it as the best pg by far because she missed the scariest parts.

Good luck! Enjoy the rest of it X

funnypeculiar · 13/09/2007 13:53

wow - congratulations
When can they fit you in for a scan?

Greekwave · 13/09/2007 13:53

Yeah I feel fine just a bit of pain in my lower abdomen

Hulababy · 13/09/2007 13:54

Wow! Congratulations.

When do you have the scan?

Greekwave · 13/09/2007 13:54

Do any of you think I should be worried about it?

coleyboy · 13/09/2007 13:54

Congratulations. It is most likely that you and the baby are fine.

I would just follow the usual pregnancy do's and don'ts from now on.

I'm guessing this is a bit of a shock?!

Greekwave · 13/09/2007 13:55

Have no idea about scan only found out about 2 hrs ago!

kerioke · 13/09/2007 13:55

wow! firstly huge congrats!!!

i know you will be uptight until you have a scan to confirm everything etc, but look at the plus side... you have skipped all the mroning sickness, tired and achey stage... your bump will or should start blooming about now so no waiting around for it, the same with baby moving about... no impatience for you... its all here!

and althoguh it seems a panic and you worry you have little time to do everything... think about it... here i am compolaining i have nothing to do now until baby is here other than a few last minute things nearer the time... and i'm 27 weeks... you can get organisd within a week if needed!

just sit back and relax at how short your pregnancy will seem! you've got half the wait the rest of us have!!

congrats again and let us know how the scan goes xxx

coleyboy · 13/09/2007 13:56

Can you pin point the pain? Do you think it could be stretching muscles and ligaments? If you are not sure contact a mw.

Greekwave · 13/09/2007 13:56

we are both very happy if not a little shocked!!!!

madamez · 13/09/2007 13:57

Congratulations! THis happened to a friend of mine and she had a healthy DD so don't worry about a thing. Particularly, don't let anyone scare you about whatever you may have eaten or drunk in the past few months, done is done and the odds are that your LO will be fine.

spugs · 13/09/2007 13:58

wow congrarulations

ive always wanted to not realise and miss out the first trimester, but missing out hald of the second as well is really good going

i'd try not to worry to much, just make sure your really looking after yourself now. babies are very hardy little things.

ComeOVeneer · 13/09/2007 13:58

Congraulations. BTW how do you know how pregnant you are without a scan?

TigerFeet · 13/09/2007 13:59

Same thing happened to my Mum. My sister is now a healthy 16 year old

Out of interest Greekwave - how did you find out?

I am always amazed by these stories!

And congratulations

TigerFeet · 13/09/2007 14:00

COV, when my Mum found out they guestimated with palpations, exact timings were confirmed when she had her scan

She was 25 weeks

Greekwave · 13/09/2007 14:01

Think it is just stretching pains, the doctor didn't seem concerned, she also said I was quite lucky to miss all the yucky begining bit

Peachy · 13/09/2007 14:03

Tigerfeet tehy didn't even HAVE scans when mum found out (was wronga bout 7th btw, 8th pg LOL)- her epriods stopped at that point, they gave her an edd of 'sometime between Christmas and Sring LOL! (was Jan 7th)

Sister 30 next year!!!!

coleyboy · 13/09/2007 14:04

Oh, and if this is your first pg the pains could be the baby giving you some jabs and kicks.

MaureenMLove · 13/09/2007 14:06

Congratulations! I didn't know I was pg until I was 16 weeks, and at that time I was young & free, but married. We were always out drinking and dancing until 4 or 5 in the morning and smoking! I just thought I had a raging hangover which I just topped up on every couple of days! Thankfully dd was born perfectly formed and healthy, allbeit nearly 3 weeks early. So I was only pg for 4 1/2 months!

I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine, good luck!

SlightlyMadSweden · 13/09/2007 14:07

My aunt found out she was 5m gone when she had an ultrasound on her kidneys at 35 .

35 may be young these days but 20yrs ago she was considered 'quite old' to be having a baby,
