Spagblog · 13/09/2007 14:08

Oh yes, if you get windy bubble like feelings - Its the baby!
Fab, what a delightful shock for you both.

I haven't had a period 5 months but took a test and it was negative, I have been told that if you are overweight it can stop you having them so i put it down to that but obviously not!! Thank you all for answeing i have to go coz I am at work. I will check messages later. Thanks

This happened to me with my first, didnt show going in for my booking scan expected to be 10 weeks, came out having heard I was 26weeks unable to button up my jeans and into maternity stuff the next day, congratulations, I think the only thing we missed was one test, afp maybe which was meant to be at 13 weeks.

sparklesandwine · 13/09/2007 14:20

WOW!! Congratulations

is this your first pg? I wouldn't worry too much about what you have drunk/eaten over the last few weeks just concentrate on you and your baby now - what a wonderful surprise

Lets us know how the scan goes

PeckaRolloverAgain · 13/09/2007 14:23

WOW! Im 25 weeks and feel like Ive been pregnant forever (found out at about 3.5 weeks pregnant!!) I have massive bump - could never not have known!

What have you put movements down to??

RGPargy · 13/09/2007 14:51

Wow congrats!!!

mumzyof2 · 13/09/2007 20:56

This happened to a friend of mune, was having the hormone injection contraceptive, but she had a hormone imbalance, so she still had periods, and didnt find out until she was 7 months pregnant, and that was only because her bf told her she was getting a bit fat! She had been out smoking and drinking all the time, and her little boy was fine...AND THEN, about a year later she found out it had happened again, and she was five months pregnant! What are the odds? But she is on her own little cloud alot of the time, lovely girl though.

bobsmum · 13/09/2007 21:01

Wow! When I saw the thread title I wondered if it was you!

Congratulations!!

Greekwave · 13/09/2007 21:27

Afer reading all your messages I dont feel as worried , thanks. I haven,t really had much movement and what I have had felt like wind . After I find out with the scan that everything is fine then I think I should start looking in to what we need to get! The GP gave us the due date as Dec 31st so not long to go.

Greekwave - congratulations!!

This happened to me too - although I did continue having light periods.

I fretted a lot about not having taken iron tablets/drinking quite a lot at two particularly big celebration bashes but dd was perfect in fact she was almost 4 weeks early, so my pregnancy flew by and no sickness until the week after I found out I was pregnant

Psychological or what?!

Greekwave · 13/09/2007 21:37

Everyone is saying now that I know I will start getting symptoms just coz I know I am a bit sad that I have missed over half the pregnancy but glad I missed all the horrible bits

Wow....congratulations.

My cousin was 20 weeks gone when she found out. She only ovulated once or twice a year and her DH had next to non-existent sperm count, so they were told a natural conception was 1 in tens of thousands. She didn't suspect as she didn't get periods v often and just thought she was putting on weight/had some low grade viral thing that wouldn't clear up. She only did the pg test to keep my auntie happy and it was positive. she had been carrying on life as normal with drinking and smoking and eating all the things you aren't supposed to too.

Her DD is now a healthy happy 12 year old.

good Luck with it all

I also have a friend who found out at 21 weeks or so. She'd been on the pill for years and was a very athletic vegan who never got periods. She'd been feeling sick, but just thought it was something else. She did have high blood pressure or something and had to be induced early, but she and the baby were fine -- just that it's not much time to get ready!

Budababe · 14/09/2007 06:13

Congrats!

I didn't get any of the horrible bits at the beginning of my pregnancy but it was so Llllllooooonnnnnnggggg - at least yours will be shorter!

feetheart · 14/09/2007 06:51

HUGE congratulations!!

I found out at about 15 weeks with DD - the biggest and best surprise of my life
It was a week after my 40th birthday so I was no spring chicken, I had had a VERY boozy birthday party plus a number of other drunken occasions in the preceeding weeks AND had been to Amsterdam the month before so illegal substances were inhaled.

I had a smooth, trouble-free pregnancy and full-term, reasonably easy labour for a first-timer - all over and done with in under 8 hours.

DD has just started Reception and, in my opinion (which I'm sure is very biased ) is scarily bright so no ill effects.

Enjoy all the fun stuff now and babies don't need much to start with - food, a few clothes, somewhere to sleep and LOTS of love.

lisad123 · 14/09/2007 09:34

Congrats
I didnt find out till i was 3 months, and was fine. Some woman put their bodies though loads when pregnant and imn sure your LO will be fine. Wow, least you didnt have to have that panic that we all have till we get to 12 weeks
