I had a growth scan today and my little monkey is still breech so I have been booked in for a section next week, has anyone had one since the outbreak how did it work with birthing partners? Also how long will I be in hospital for this is my worst case scenario and I'm petrified thank you in advance xx

@Hopingforbabyd wow he is super gorgeous -many many congrats! You just be thrilled. It sounds like he could not wait to meet you -trying to escape before your c section date! I hope your recovery is going ok-quite a few friends have had sections and I know it takes a while to feel back on your feet.

I’m 32 weeks today. Getting closer but still feels like I have quite a while-just want to meet him and have him here safely now! He is measuring rather large so I will see over the coming weeks whether an induction or section is recommended! Enjoy your special time. And many congrats again!

Thanks both :) @mouse1234567 @Mummyspider27 good to know! I have a scan at 34 weeks and another at 36 weeks, last scan was on Thursday. I think I'll still be offered a vaginal birth so I think If I wanted a c section it'd still be classed as elective, but i got the vibe that I may be offered either and it'll be my choice. So doing lots of research at the moment of the pros and cons of both. He was breech in Thursday so if he's still breech at 36 weeks then I won't have to make a decision which I'd probably prefer ha!

Thanks

Hi, congratulations to you all on your pregnancies and to your newborn little ones too. Hope I can join..I’m only 25w so still a way to go but just wondering how did you get your EC approved? Was it because baby was breeched or diff reasons? This is my second (had a mmc 2y ago), now down as highly risk , ivf baby at 45, my first dd was born quite small so the consultant already mentioned during the 12w scan that they would want baby out at 38/39w..sorry if stupid question but do you think they would try to induce me or could I ask for EC..no idea what my options are, I could ask for and the consultant wasn’t very ‘friendly’ when we saw him during 12w scan..my midwife app were cancelled so now need to wait till 28w scan which hopefully will go ahead in 2w time and maybe I will have opportunity to ask some questions.

Hi @fool11 I'd certainly ask for a c section if that's what you want. I know alot of woman don't like the thought of being induced, so you could certainly talk to them about an elective if that's the route you want to take.
I got my c section approved due to a traumatic first birth and suffering from ptsd due to that. But I do know woman that have requested one just because it was the preferred option for them, and it was given the go ahead. I think as long as you do your reserch into both being induced and having an elective, give it some thought then go in and let them know which you would want. I think if you show you have given it alot of thought and know the benifit and risks to both options then I'd suspect they would go with your choice. I've found they are alot more for maternal choice this pregnancy. Good luck with it all

I am down for high risk for IVF and previous small daughter too!!
However my main reason for ELCS was a traumatic birth which ended in EMCS with my daughter. Just be firm if that’s what you want... mention on your next midwife appointment that considering everything you would like a ELCS and she should refer you to consultant xx

Thank you . My first delivery was awful, they made me suffer unnecessarily even though consultant wrote down epidural, nobody listened to me and basically ignored me, kept saying first baby , it will take ages, we might send you home..they wouldnt even give me gas, kept telling me to have a nap between contractions which were like every 2min..I went from 1 to 10cm in about 2.5h when I was screaming that baby is coming out. Then they all rushed in. I thought I’m going to explode inside. Made them then give me a spinal at 10cm..whole experience was awful. I will do some research on both, EC and induction, thank you.

Hi everyone sorry for the late reply I've been a bit busy 😊 @Hopingforbabyd congratulations he is beautiful hope you are both doing well, if anyone comes across this thread I would say that as much as a worry it is having a baby or section at this time they really are a great help and understand the anxiety we all feel xx
