I had a growth scan today and my little monkey is still breech so I have been booked in for a section next week, has anyone had one since the outbreak how did it work with birthing partners? Also how long will I be in hospital for this is my worst case scenario and I'm petrified thank you in advance xx

My local hospital just give you a call with like 2-3 days notice before your pre-op and your section is the next day. So i am 38+2 now and still waiting☹️ you guys are so lucky to have a date😘 my midwife said to expect 1 night in, fingers crossed it wont be longer!

Good luck everyone. And thank you @Wishing56 your post has made me feel much more relaxed.

I've found this thread really comforting. I'm 32 weeks with a high risk pregnancy and very much leaning towards a c section to put as less stress on baby as he'll need a full work up by a doctor as soon as he comes out.

Best wishes x

auntienameyname · 17/04/2020 15:08

Awww congratulations 😅 i cant wait now. Im not so scared anymore, just want it done!

Hopingforbabyd · 18/04/2020 13:53

@mouse1234567 thank you so much!

My little baby Zander was born the day before his planned section! Cheeky monkey wanted to come out and join his mummy for her birthday 😍 so I have a beautiful 8lb15oz bundle of joy sharing the same day as me 15th April.
The section for me was very uncomfortable only because he was trying to come out so they had to push his leg back up and out the birth canal so a little tender down below. Recovery - take each day as it comes, you will get better and feel so much stronger each day and remember to stand up straight! We're learning slowly and adjusting to our new world but take it all in ladies. At the hospital my hubby was allowed in with me and then the midwife we had allowed him to stay until she finished shift so he was with us for 8 hours as long as temp was okay. Wishing you all lots of luck xx

@laurapb88 congratulations he is absolutely gorgeous 😍 hoping you're day went as planned and you're taking things easy with your recovery. Well done mummy & daddy - embrace it all xx

Hopingforbabyd · 18/04/2020 13:59

@auntienameyname hoping you got your date booked in, i had my little baby on Wednesday and though this wasn't his planned date (planned for Thursday cheeky bugger) everything went smoothly and the experience was just amazing - it does take a while to be stitched up but you're so in awe of your little lamb being born and on you you forget about what they're doing. Dad was allowed to stay with us until my midwife finished her shift so was 8 hours and the midwives were fantastic. I struggled to feed my baby I just wasn't producing enough for him and they suggested a formula top up - no amount of judging or making you feel sad they just want you and your baby happy so you can go home the next day which we were allowed to 😊 wishing you the very best of luck x

LillianFullStop · 18/04/2020 14:04

Congrats @hopingforbabyd! glad you had a positive experience overall! He's beautiful and looks so relaxed 😎

I have my OB appointment on Monday I hope they approve my ELCS.

Hopingforbabyd · 18/04/2020 14:12

@LillianFullStop thank you so much, he's very chill bless him. I believe they must approve for you as they cannot advise you on how to be delivered. My experience was a little scary as it was rushed only as I had gone into labour and he was breech however overall very positive and I'm just glad we are both safe and well. Best of luck to you! Xx

Mummyspider27 · 18/04/2020 15:04

@Hopingforbabyd congratulations, what a beauty!! And your new birthday twin! Random one, where is his blanket from? I love it! Xx

Shmabel · 18/04/2020 15:15

@Hopingforbabyd
Beautiful 😍 Congratulations! Also loving the blanket Smile and the name. I'm considering Xander with the same pronunciation

Hopingforbabyd · 18/04/2020 17:53

@Shmabel @Mummyspider27 thank you! I just love that blanket too...it's from next 😉 xx

Nicecupofcoco · 18/04/2020 18:05

Congratulations all of you! I've got my section for 3.5 weeks time and feeling terrified!

auntienameyname · 18/04/2020 20:43

@Hopingforbabyd congratulations !! What a cutie. Im pleased it went well for you in the end. I cant wait to be in the newborn cloud too!!

I am booked for wednesday coming. Super big now so just excited to get this baby out😅 my nerves have almost vanished although im sure it'll hit me again once im gowned up!!
My hospital have told me that dad can come on the ward as usual, (im in an area with very low covid cases) which i was relieved about - this is my second baby so i have labour experience but no csection experience so wasnt sure what id be able to do on my own on the ward!! Good luck everyone x

Lozzak21 · 18/04/2020 21:42

@auntienameyname I'm booked in for my elective c section on Wednesday too!!

@Hopingforbabyd congratulations he's gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your story ❤️

2020babym · 18/04/2020 21:48

Congratulations to all those that have welcomed their babies!! Super super cute!!

Can I ask everyone who is booked in how many weeks you'll be when you have your c section? I'm only 32 weeks but a high risk pregnancy because my son has a cleft lip and potentially one other problem (although that's looking less likely now) and will need a full work up by a peads doctor when he comes out. So I'm just wondering that if I have a c section when they'll book it for as I've a feeling they will want him out before 40 weeks.

Thanks
Mummyspider27 · 18/04/2020 22:08

@2020babym I am having a planned section but for different reasons. Mainly traumatic labour last time. They have booked mine for the day I turn 39 weeks, but was told it could be booked any time within my 39th week. But as mine is for a different reason than you, it may be different x

auntienameyname · 19/04/2020 08:08

@Lozzak21 oooo good luck ❤️

Nicecupofcoco · 19/04/2020 08:27

@2020babym I'm also booked in for the day I turn 39 weeks, like @Mummyspider27 it's mainly due to a traumatic birth and being very anxious about that. When do you speak to consultant?
