Daniel Reed Owen

or

Elliot Reed Owen

Chosen 2 middle names as ds1 has 2 middle names, although not certain yet. Def going to have Owen as middle name.

DP, Ds and generally whole family prefer Daniel, I like Elliot.

I like that Daniel can be shortened when older, but as dp left for boys night out he said bye Danny to bump and I didnt like it at all. I think Daniel for a baby. Also my friend said when older he will be called Dan the Man?

I dont mind Dan or Danny when he is older.. but 'Dan the Man'?!?!

harleyd · 11/09/2007 10:16

elliot is lovely

Hassled · 11/09/2007 10:18

I'd go for Elliot - there's also Danny Boy, Desperate Dan and probably more. I do really like the name Dan though.

tortoiseSHELL · 11/09/2007 10:19

Daniel!

Nbg · 11/09/2007 10:19

Love Elliot Reed Owen

Goregeous.

JARM · 11/09/2007 10:20

We have named ours Daniel James

Love the name daniel, but he will deffo be a Daniel for a baby, and then shortened when older if he wants.

Roll on the next 10 weeks and 6 days!!

Elliot could get 'Smelliot' at school. You can always find funny things about names, and when he's older if he wants to be Daniel then he can specify that. Had never thought of Dan the Man, but it's quite funny!

MamaMaiasaura · 11/09/2007 10:20

I like Elliot too.

(Dp doesnt like it, Ds really doesnt like it either. my sister doesnt as knows someone horrid called Elliot, My mum doesnt as she said it reminds her of wimpy boy off ET and she couldnt imagine a man called Elliot)

I prefer Elliot.
Don't know if it matters, but there is a female character in Scrubs called Elliot Reid.

mixedmama · 11/09/2007 10:22

Hi Awen,

I like them both, but do love Daniel.

MamaMaiasaura · 11/09/2007 10:22

I already have a Thomas (he doenst like it being shortened altho when he is older he can, also his dad (ex-p) calls him Tom)

MamaMaiasaura · 11/09/2007 10:23

eww smelliot, never thought of that. Dp had rhymed it with idiot Sorry to any Elliots because i personally love the name.

mixedmama · 11/09/2007 10:24

i think then that thomas and elliot go very nicely together.

MamaMaiasaura · 11/09/2007 10:24

Owen isnt the surname btw - is one of middle names. Surname has 2 syllables beginning with H.

Like them both, but Elliot has the edge for me, and it's more unusual too.

I can't see how Elliot can be shortened or turned into a nickname. My ds's name can't be altered either and I like that.

ELR · 11/09/2007 10:27

both fine but i think owen should come before reed

quickdrawmcgraw · 11/09/2007 10:34

Elliot is lovely. Ds has a friend Elliot in his class. Ds thinks he's soooooo lucky to have the same name as ET's friend.
He's sometimes called Elly.
There are a lot of Daniels around. dd and ds have 4 friends called Daniel between them.

Fimbo · 11/09/2007 10:36

from your names i personally like:-

Sebastian Owen Reed

Bettymamma · 11/09/2007 16:13

Awen - I love the name Elliot.

It would have been my boys name but as you know I'm having a girl!

sweetkitty · 11/09/2007 16:15

Elliot would be my boys name if I ever have a boy, go with Elliot

sweetkitty · 11/09/2007 16:17

OMG just reading about the scrubs character and Reid is our surname

so my fictional biy would be names after a FEMALE TV character!

missbumpy · 11/09/2007 19:01

Definitely prefer Daniel. I think Danny's a lovely name too.

Jojay · 11/09/2007 19:08

Much prefer Daniel - love Dan or Danny too, but is BIL's name, so I can't use it!!
