20 weeks tomorrow and starting to worry that I haven't felt anything at all.

I've got my 20 week scan tomorrow and the usual pre-scan anxiety is kicking in so i know that's not helping.

Should I have felt something by now? Anyone else in the same position?

21 weeks for me with a posterior placenta as well where you’re supposed to be able to feel the movements more easily! So quite late really but don’t worry it’ll happen soon no need to panic ☺️

LillyLeaf · 25/03/2020 16:21

I have an anterior placenta and felt movement about 21 weeks. I maybe felt something before but it was hard to know if they were the baby or wind.

mouse1234567 · 25/03/2020 19:16

I really knew by 19-20 weeks

Saraj09876 · 25/03/2020 19:26

Nothing for me until 22 weeks! Now can feel wriggling all the time :)

Petal1762109 · 25/03/2020 19:41

I haven't felt definitive movement, I sometimes think I'm feeling something but not consistently so or sure it is baby! But I had my 20 week scan last week and baby was moving about during scan and if I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have known! So don't worry. It's my first and the midwife said it can be anywhere up to 24 weeks to feel more noticeably. Good luck for your scan.

I could feel little movements from about 16 weeks, felt like muscle spasms or heart palpitations in my lower stomach. I felt definite movements at 18 weeks. I have a low lying placenta at the moment.

somegoodnewsforonce · 25/03/2020 20:19

With my son I'm pretty sure I felt movement at 16 weeks.

Olaflower1 · 25/03/2020 20:30

@sel2223 I’m 21 weeks and haven’t felt any movement yet either. It can be disconcerting when others feel lots of movement who are at the same stage but everyone is different ...it can be anytime from 16-24 weeks 😊 So you’ve got a few weeks left before you should panic. I also have an anterior placenta. X

Crazychocolatelady · 25/03/2020 20:44

With DS I could feel them around the first scan at 12 weeks which I thought was crazy until I was told the placenta was at the back so feeling them so early was perfectly normal, it all depends on what way baby is and where the placenta is x

SpillTheTeaa · 25/03/2020 20:45

With DS I felt little tiny flutters from 15 weeks which is super early. Kicks started at about 24 weeks.

jdy123 · 25/03/2020 20:46

18 weeks for me but both my friends were first time mums and both felt movement after the 20 week scan xx

EmC96 · 25/03/2020 20:47

17 weeks flutters, 20 weeks proper kicks

LouiseKira · 25/03/2020 21:42

About 17 weeks! Felt like little air bubbles. They were noticeable if I for example ran upstairs, then downstairs, then lay on my back and waited. Wasn't sure it was baby at first but as weeks went past they got stronger.

Easter2020 · 25/03/2020 22:18

21w, and I'm 33w now and it still feels like gentle flutters. Baby moves all the time (on the 21w scan it wouldn't keep still but I couldn't tell it was moving at all!) In last 2 weeks its moved from head down left side to head down right side and I didn't feel it actually move! I only know when the midwife feels for it then gets the heartbeat.

But at about 28w I started feeling the regular hiccups, that is soooo cute!

toomuchteaandcake · 26/03/2020 00:19

21 weeks with anterior placenta. All low down though, baby is breech

latheritup · 26/03/2020 00:31

23 weeks with an anterior placenta

CatSmize · 26/03/2020 00:33

17 weeks for me.

frenchfancy81 · 26/03/2020 00:38

17 weeks for me :)

17 weeks I had ‘flutters’ like little taps on the inside of my tummy. 18-19 weeks I started feeling more distinct movements. From 20 weeks until now (33 weeks) I have been kicked, punched and booted about 200 times a day.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 26/03/2020 02:33

11 weeks for me (a few days before first scan) but then I'm very sensitive to touch, smells, sounds & tastes.
I remember the first flutters precisely.
Was at work during a team meeting & mini Tracy was disco dancing every time my manager spoke. It felt like hiccups & tickles in my tummy.
My desk was right next to my managers so I guess she knew the voice.
Also my workplace advertised on the tv & without outing myself all I can say there were certain things that were said that would have sounded familiar. When DD was born & an ad for my workplace came on the tv, DD would disengage from the boob & later bottle to look at the tv!
Mind you she would also disengage from feeding when the Coro St or Neighbours theme tune came on.
(Guess what I watched whilst pregnant Grin)

Megan2018 · 26/03/2020 02:48

23 weeks! Normal placenta etc
At my 20 week scan baby was moving like mad and I couldn’t feel it. I could see it before I could reliably feel it tbh Blush

Kl129 · 26/03/2020 06:48

16 weeks is when I first felt what I thought was little taps or bubbles but I’m 20 weeks 1 day and still unsure if it’s movements or something else so nothing definitive yet 🤦🏼‍♀️ My placenta is posterior.

I have my 20 week scan today too so I totally understand the anxiety, especially as I don’t think my partner is able to come with me given the situation.

Hope all goes well for you Flowers

YessicaHaircut · 26/03/2020 07:02

I think it was after 20 week scan, as I remember looking at how much he was moving on the screen and just being amazed as I couldn’t feel it! I do have anterior placenta though. Now 27 weeks and feel him loads. It was only in the last couple of weeks that DH first felt him kicking from the outside though.

Grainedesesame · 26/03/2020 07:17

14 weeks with tiny flutters and kick from 18 weeks.
