I’ve batch cooked, nursery is sorted, I feel fairly relaxed. Just waiting for this little one to make an appearance

@Rojelio thank you!!! Ahh I know they have procedures to follow but that bloody drip killed me off! Ah well it's done now and little man is here!

Aww to those waiting I'm not sure about the rules about partners staying as I had little man at 8.04am, then my oh went home with my blessings as we have other responsibilities. I was in my delivery room until around 1pm when I was taken down to the ward, which for me had private rooms.
I was basically on my own in my room on the ward with baby then until I was discharged which was supposed to be at 8pm but actually ended up being more around 9.30pm due to a few of us all being discharged right after shift change.
Of course during this time I saw midwives for my check, baby nurse for his hearing check and another one for his limbs heartbeat etc... and the lady who brought the food round, but other than that was left to it. (Not that I could get any rest because of all these people popping in and out).

Maybe just ask when you first go in with your contractions? I know they're being super strict now so I'd be shocked if they allowed overnight tbh!

I'm going for a sweep today hope that gets things moving. Due date is Saturday.

My due date was today and I've just had my sweep 😳 my cervix was still very high and closed so got to have another one Sunday 😫 doesn't look like my baby will be arriving anytime soon 🤦🏼‍♀️... I have had some small blood spotting since coming home which I've googled and it seems to be quite normal after a stretch and sweep? 🤔

I'm 41 weeks + 2 today! Had a sweep on Monday didn't do anything apart from give me horrendous cramps and bleeding! This is my second baby first was 11 days late and managed to just swerve an induction. However I'm booked in Sunday to be induced if he doesn't make his appearance!! I really thought he'd have been here by now

My sweep doesn't seem to have done anything either. She said I was 1-2cm dilated but my cervix was still "thick" (?) had a few cramps yesterday after going for a short walk (it started to rain booo!) and bouncing on my birth ball, but nothing else! Due date tomorrow. Looks like baby is far too happy in there to come out just yet!

Im 40+1 today, I didn't have a sweep but I've had some brownish discharge this morning. Hopefully that's a good sign?

@leag1 hopefully! I’ve had two lots of brown discharge that I thought was my show over the past two weeks and still nothing!

Congrats to all those who have had their babies. DD arrived 40 +4 in the end. Birth nothing like I had planned but just glad she is here safely and overall think experience has been positive! Although wouldn’t have said that yesterday!

Well my due date came and went with nothing other than an hour or so of period type pains after a long walk and a bit of brown spotting 👎🏼

Snap! 😞 I've had one sweep already got a second today but my cervix is posteria and was high and closed last time, can't see today being any different 🤦🏼‍♀️

I'm 40+3 today, been contracting every 10-15 mins since 5.30 yesterday afternoon. Didn't sleep a wink all night. I let my husband sleep so at least one of us isn't grumpy. Now gonna try and speed things up. I didn't realise how painful labour can be

Ah congrats to all who have their babies, I can’t believe it took some of us so long to get them!

Birth experience was great thank you, they have changed some of the rules now but my DH was allowed in with me except to stay overnight on the recovery ward afterwards

The midwives were incredible and doing everything they could to make the experience positive and normal, it will all be absolutely fine

I'm 40+2 today and still no signs just very uncomfortable now and getting more so by the day!

@brummiemumm i had my beautiful girl at 4.07 this morning. Not a pleasant birth but so happy with her
