I’ve batch cooked, nursery is sorted, I feel fairly relaxed. Just waiting for this little one to make an appearance

Anyone else waiting now?

@mumma2b2020 - isn’t it?! Just spoke to the midwife to see if she still wanted to see me on Friday for my sweep and it turns out she does. I was quite surprised!

ELW85 · 17/03/2020 08:48

@ShirleyPhallus - sorry totally forgot to reply! We are on the same threads 😊
I’ve got my sweep on Friday but he definitely doesn’t feel like he’s coming out any time soon.
I’m hoping it’s going to be one of those ‘comes on quickly’ sort of things!

abbs1 · 17/03/2020 09:17

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and have a stretch and sweep booked due to babys small growth. Failing that I have another one Saturday and if that still doesn't work got induction a week tomorrow! I just want my baby so bad! Its been a long lonely pregnancy stuck at home with hyperemesis.

lonelyonee · 17/03/2020 09:22

Yes! 38+6 today, due next Wednesday. Super uncomfortable and in all honesty pissed off that this virus is adding stress to what should be such an exciting time.
Prepared as much as I can, just need to clean the house and maybe do some batch cooking depending on freezer space!
Currently awaiting reply from midwife regarding appointment on dd and possible sweep as our doctors have cancelled all face to face appointments! Crazy times we're having these babies in ladies!

misstoblerone85 · 17/03/2020 09:30

No baby here yet.

Have decided not to go to our usual group this morning so not sure what we will do today to keep entertained.

I have had cramps on and off for the last 5 weeks but they don't seem to turn into anything.

Have had 2 sweeps so far but they haven't done anything except give me mild cramps for a few hours. I can't see me going into labour before my induction. So different to my first, she was born at 39+3 so I'm not prepared for the waiting around

jollybobs89 · 17/03/2020 09:35

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow!! Going to go insane waiting haha feel like I've been pregnant forever got a 2 year old also and struggling to keep up with her! I went 11 days over with my first hoping and praying won't be the same with this one haha xx

ELW85 · 17/03/2020 11:30

@lonelyonee - I was really surprised when I talked to my midwife this morning that my appointment on Friday is still going ahead (she does hers out of a hospital) but she also said they’re still trying to find out from the RCOG what it all actually means so watch this space I guess.
Agree that this is ridiculous times. We’ve got enough to worry about in labour itself without all of this!

Rojelio · 17/03/2020 17:32

38+5 here so due next Thursday, went to my midwife appointment today she seemed confident that it would remain mostly business as usual 🤞
Hopefully babies will come soon!

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 17/03/2020 18:19

I went for an in today and all maternity patients are being told to keep their appointments. My maternity outpatients are making people wash their hands on entry, and only allowing one person per patient.

Booked in for an induction on 24th, but I have a second sweep this Thursday. Im really hoping the sweep works!

ELW85 · 17/03/2020 18:56

I’ve got my first sweep on Friday; anyone know when they’d book me in for an induction? I want to avoid it, but planning ahead!

jollybobs89 · 17/03/2020 20:51

@ELW85 it's usually 12 days past your due date for an induction! Well it was for me with my first luckily I went into labour on the 11th day!

ineedanotherholiday · 17/03/2020 21:09

Yes due end of next week! Have spring cleaned the whole house, nursery ready, want to start batch cooking a few meals but half of my items were missing in my online order as couldn't even substitute as nothing there Confused

Saw mw yest who assures next labour ward etc still running bau. Kind of want to get it and get out again and stay at home with the new arrival. Not sure what to expect with all this going on and it being my first!

ShirleyPhallus · 17/03/2020 21:11

Ah @Letsallscreamatthesistene I hope the sweep works!

I have a midwife appt tomorrow and will discuss next steps. Tonight something has happened and either my waters are trickling or I have very sweaty crotch, I’ll ask the midwife tomorrow

Ooh pleased to have found this thread! Hi ladies! I’m 38+4 and had the period like feelings some of you have described for a good ten days but nothing. More like how I feel in the run up to my period than the actual cramping and now I’m stuck at home with my thoughts going mad it’s like pregnancy has ground to a halt!!

So desperate to have this baby (I’m impatient!!) so I know it’ll be as stubborn as me and not come til it’s induced at 42 weeks I bet!!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 17/03/2020 22:04

Also on mat leave. 37+3. Have batched cooked sorted nursery. Trying not to stress over coronavirus but hard not to. Started with a bit of a cough tonight but it’s chesty and would say it’s persistent. Still worrying. Had a ‘show’ last week and have lost some of plug but not much else going on

Rhcat1 · 17/03/2020 22:37

Can I join in?
I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. Still got 2 weeks to go but babies quite happy in there. Does anyone get up after sitting on the couch and immediately feel like they can't walk? I literally have to limp and shuffle and walk it off as get shooting pains in hips and legs... Its every time I get up from sitting down. Bumps huge now.. I cant shave the bottom of my legs lol.. I can reach everything else though.. I agree though... What a time to have a baby ehy?

Bookworm83 · 17/03/2020 22:53

Not quite on maternity leave yet (my last day of work is this Thursday), but I'm 38 weeks and would like to join in please, as I've definitely had enough and just want this baby out!

sjmco · 18/03/2020 03:46

@Rhcat1 that happens everytime I get up from the sofa!! Haha I haven't shaved my legs in about 3 weeks! I gave up Lol! currently 39+5 and due a csection in a few hours time!!

Rojelio · 18/03/2020 04:20

Good luck with you C section @sjmco and recovery!
Anymore waters in the night Op? 😬👍🏻

ShirleyPhallus · 18/03/2020 06:21

@Rhcat1 oh god yes the struggle is real!!

Nothing @Rojelio, I really thought it might kick off in the night. I have a midwife appt so will ask her, really hoping she’ll take a look and tell me I’m 5cm dilated without even realising Grin

Wow wow @sjmco good luck!!! Enjoy meeting your beautiful baby, please come back and let us know how you got on Flowers

@sjmco good luck for your section. This is my first and I'm so nervous about giving birth. My partners really worrying me at the minute saying in a few weeks they might not even let the birthing partners in the delivery room. I hope to God that's not going to be the case I'm anxious enough as it is. Hope all you ladies are taking good care of yourselves, I'm just avoiding the news and thinking positive thoughts, trying to imagine what my little ones gunna look like when she arrives and if it'll even feel real when she's handed to me. It still hasn't sunk in yet lol.
Oh and I've just discovered there's EXTENENDABLE shavers for pregnant women two weeks shy of birth haha! Whoever invented those.. Genius!!

Rhcat1 · 18/03/2020 07:23

I spelt extendable completely wrong. Need my morning coffee.

ShirleyPhallus · 18/03/2020 07:47

Sorry @rhcat1 but I think that’s nonsense, some hospitals have locked down to 1 birth partner but I really doubt they’ll say no birth partners allowed! Have you tried hypnobirthing? I have found some of the relaxation / meditation really useful in managing some of those worries

Rhcat1 · 18/03/2020 08:03

@ShirleyPhallus no but I'll definitely look into that. I put all me candles on last night and sat in the quiet and felt the most relaxed I'd felt in a long time.. Yeah I know that's why I'm avoiding watching the news or reading anything as it just works me up. I've basically not left the house anyway since I went on maternity in the middle of feb. I went into nesting mode last week and cleaned the house from top to bottom and now it's a mess again. I've ran out of energy to keep on top of it. I'd love a bath but have given up trying to fight my way out of the tub. I keep poking my belly and saying "come on little one, get a shimmy on." but she's snug as a bug in there...
