Girls, I'm starting a new thread because I feel guilty overtaking POSITIVE's thread about pregnancy symptoms disappearing at 9 weeks. It looks like there are a couple of us who're waiting for a re-scan sometime next week to confirm which way our babies-to-be will choose to go. If you're one of us - feel free to join this thread and share in this "anything -but - wonderful" experience!

Hi Kat
Can I join you and jump from positives thread?
Have my scan on Monday - getting REALLY worried now as have no symptoms at all - and had hypermesis with my 4 yr old DD from 6 weeks!
Not even a sniff of nausea! Can only think its a bad sign as I know my body well - but everyone keeps saying all pregnancies are different - I just hope they're right... finding it really difficult to stay positive
Hope you are OK - when is your scan?
R
xx

Hey Rosy, come on over. You can totally join this thread. I am rather new to this forum but what I find is that many times what's being discussed on a given thread has nothing to do with its original topic (and the subject line).

So I figured we should start one that is relevant to what we're going through

I have to say, I was sick as a dog with my 1st pregnancy (ended up losing it at 35 weeks). Then got pg 6 mnths later and only had ms for like a couple of weeks. Ended up with a beautiful and healthy baby boy.

Felt pretty sick this time around and you know the rest... my scan is on Wed but between you and me... don't know, sister... I am having pretty consistent cramping and lower back pains. Called the doctor but they told me that as long as there was no bleeding and I wasn't doubled over with pain they wouldn't see me and kept my scan for Wed...

I am still very hopeful but physical signs point to "no"

Now you HAVE to be optimistic! No signs does not mean bad outcome. Maybe you're just that lucky girl! I have a friend - she found out she was pg when she was ...ready for this?...4 mnth pg. She had bleeding all that time (thinking periods) and just had a DD few weeks ago

So keep your feet up, drink lots of water, think happy thoughts and tell me right away on Monday what you find out!

XOXO

RosyBelle

With my first I could eat nothing at all until 4.30pm for about 4 or 5 months.

With my next two I had no sickness at all. It can be very different - honest

I am wishing you both luck

RosyBelle · 07/09/2007 20:13

AAAhhh thank you both... its nice to hear it may be OK!!
Kat sending you big hugs for your loss... my last pregnancy (2 yrs ago) ended at 10+5 so for it to end at 35 wks I just can't imagine. Good to hear you have a lovely baby boy...
As for the back pain - I am with you there!! And have been told its normal!! Mine is right at my lower middle back and sometimes it comes & goes in spasms I had this from when I 1st tested and have had 2 scans since which showed the sac and contents growing - so don't worry. I read that it is a sign of hormones expanding muscles to let the baby grow... keep our fingers crossed!!

Good luck for Wed - I will post on Monday with my news - they think they saw a faint heartbeat last Monday but want to check its def there.

can i just say im so sorry for you, i had a missed m/c last week at 10 weeks

katendmom · 10/09/2007 17:09

Oh no... I am so sorry for you too! I am sure they told you all the statistics... that every 1 in 10 pg end up in mc, if you mc'ed it means that the lo was sick, etc, etc...

Still sucks... Let's stay connected, ok? I am really hoping this thread will remain a positive one and we will be posting good news really-really soon!

The rest of you, moms-to-be, please keep sharing your good news with us! We need to be spreading good carma

Oh Kat - our thread is doomed. Its not to be for us too...
Had scan and no HB at all and measuring sac the same as last Monday...
I have opted for a natural miscarriage this time so just waiting for it to happen.
Sending you hugs...

iliketosleep · 10/09/2007 20:47

hi again, rosybele i went for the natural option but nothing was happening so i had the tablet today although baby had moved down alot since wednesday so they said i could have gone natural over the next few days but i just want it over and done with now!

p.s. does it really mean if you m/c the baby is sick or is it just one of those things?

RosyBelle · 10/09/2007 21:04

Ilike - am sorry - God its crap isn't it? On my last missed miscarriage (2 yrs ago) they said it meant that something was wrong with the baby & this is natures way of dealing with it. It would be neurological or something equally as devasting.

As this is our 2nd m/mc I have been referred to a 'recurrent miscarriage' consultant who will do chromosone blood tests etc.

With my last one I had an ERPC - so didn't need the pill. May need one this time though as really don't want another ERPC.

Is this your 1st one?

Oh RosyBelle, sweetie I am so sorry ... But you know what - I don't think our thread is doomed. I think actually the Heaven was short of angels... so ILTS, your and mine were "called to the rescue" and now our little angels are were they're intended to be ...

ILTS, I don't think if this is a 100% proven fact (since it is very difficult and rare that they test "tissue" after mc) but I've read many times (and was told again by my doctor) that it is very probable that the embryo wasn't healthy and therefore couldn't develop normally...

I guess there are instances when the woman actually has a condition that makes her prone to mc. But if you have never been diagnosed with a condition like that and in particular if you had health dc - then it is most positive that the baby wasn't well...

Hugs and best of thoughts to both of you, girls!

ive just read your post on my other thread, i like that way of thinking about the angels

I think im on my way now as ive just gone to the toilet and wee'd blood! lets hope so!!

katendmom · 10/09/2007 21:18

Good luck (I know it sounds sick wishing you "luck" now but I am sure you know what I mean!)

OP posts:
iliketosleep · 10/09/2007 21:22

i certainly do and thankyou

RosyBelle · 10/09/2007 21:23

Kat that is a lovely way to put it. Thank you. Still very tearful!!

Ilike - can you keep us posted on how you are? How long was it between taking the pill and a bleed! I hope its quick and painless for us all...

They said today that they could already see blood accumulating in my uterus.

iliketosleep · 10/09/2007 21:31

i took the pill at exactly 2:50 this afternoon, i know that as i was shitting myself we wouldnt be there intime for the kids to come out of school at 3:15 (hospitals 20 mins away!)

and bleeding started about 15 mins ago so quarter past 9, i am in no pain BUT i took pain killers not long ago for a headache, altohugh i do have slight cramps. I have never bled this much so im hopeful xx if i have any dramatic changes i will be sure to let you know. As morbid as it is i think its good to share experiences

RosyBelle · 10/09/2007 21:37

OMG - Ilike - thats quick! I may give clinic a ring a couple of days to get one. I think its good to share too and not morbid. You are just preparing me for whats to come...

Thank you girls for all the support

iliketosleep · 10/09/2007 21:39

it has surprised me to be honest!! i really hope this is it! i wont have to spend all day in hospital on wednesday then

katendmom · 10/09/2007 21:40

It is! And you know what my plan is for this evening (and I hope nobody out there will judge me for being insensitive)... you know how they tell you not to lift heavy things when you're expecting so you don't cause mc?

Guess what?! I am going to get home, I am going to pick up my beautiful 19 month old and I am going to carry him around all night long! I will also run around with him and chase him up the steps!

Am I not coping? Maybe... but after losing a DD at 35 wks pregnant... this experience that I am going through now just feels different. Please, I don't want to offend anybody who is going through mc... I am not minimizing anybody's loss or pain...

Just sharing my experience and plans, like ILTS points out!

OP posts:
iliketosleep · 10/09/2007 21:43

you know what katendmom, i dont blame you!

If you read my other threads you will see i have stayed very positive throughout and people are refreshed by my upbeatness lol

I am going to ttc as soon as i can get this over and done with and its not that i dont care its just that people deal with different things in different ways

madamez · 10/09/2007 21:45

Just posting some sympathy and good wishes to you all. And the story of a friend of mine who had 3 Mcs, gave up on the idea of becoming a mum (pretty much) and then there came a time where she didn't feel too well, her stomach seemed sort of hard and full of odd lumps - and she went to the GP who explained she was actually 5 months PG and now she has a lovely 4-year-old DD.
There is always some hope.

iliketosleep · 10/09/2007 21:48

what a wonderful story

iliketosleep · 10/09/2007 21:58

oh and katendmom i keep forgetting to add to my posts, im so so very sorry to hear about you losing your little one at 35 weeks

katendmom · 11/09/2007 14:23

Thank you sweetie, it gets a bit less painful as years go by... Hope you're doing well (better?) today?
