Just that really.
I’ve recently had a missed miscarriage, currently waiting for my first period and would like to know how long it took others?

Miscarried v late Sept/early oct...practice nurse confirmed I was pregnant Christmas eve (late but over counter tests said I wasn't so receptionist agreed to get sample tested for me). Best Christmas present ever!
I was very nervous till 20 weeks then better.

Oh and I was late 30s and had been trying for 18 months before miscarried...

QueSera · 07/03/2020 16:46

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I got pregnant quite quickly after both of my miscarriages, maybe 2-3 months I think. Used the "sperm meets egg plan" (google for details). Good luck OP.

abbs1 · 07/03/2020 16:48

@Sallyjo27 I'm so sorry you've been through this. I had the same thing but conceived straight away the next cycle so didn't have a period after my miscarriage. I'm now nearly 37 weeks pregnant. I was very scared the first few months and still a bit nervous now of something going wrong but just trying to stay positive.
I wish you all the best and hope you get good news really soon.

sjmco · 07/03/2020 17:33

First time about 2 years... my last miscarriage I had I got pregnant the following month, currently 38 weeks pregnant! 😬

Jamsponge71 · 07/03/2020 17:38

Sorry to hear that.

First time, I miscarried in the October and didn’t get pregnant again until the May. Second time, I miscarries in the June and got pregnant in the September.

santoslhalperrr · 07/03/2020 18:08

I'm so sorry you have gone through this OP. Lots of us know all too well what this is like.

I had three, then after a D&C our doctor recommended trying naturally for 6 months, with nothing happening really.

After that he recommended to try IVF so we did, which worked beautifully, now expecting. So total after MC and D&C about 8 months.

I hope you're taking care of yourself and getting help and support if you need it. Xx

Chanel05 · 07/03/2020 19:18

So sorry to hear of your mmc. It took me 8 months to fall pregnant after my mmc. Unfortunately, I sold myself on the (made up) idea that 'you're more fertile after a mc' and that caused me an unbelievable amount of stress.

Bootsray · 07/03/2020 19:43

@Sallyjo27 It's taken 4 years since my MMC - so sorry to hear you've been through it. Be kind to yourself and put you first. x

Goldenmother · 07/03/2020 19:51

Sorry to hear of your miscarriage I had a miscarriage 7 years ago I spent the first year obsessed with getting pregnant then found out I had PCOS and gave up I haven't been trying to conceived I was convinced I couldn't have anymore children as I had 2 already and fully accepted my that then October last year after 7 years I'm pregnant, I don't think for a second you will take that long as I'm over weight and PCOS

reginafalange2020 · 07/03/2020 20:04

I miscarried in the July at around 8 weeks. I was pregnant with DD2 by sept.

Good luck

I’m sorry for your losses and thank you very much for your replies. At the moment it’s all I can think about, I can’t wait to get pregnant again but am so scared at the same time. Such a horrible thing to go through

Hi love, I'm so sorry for your loss and totally understand the strong feeling to need to get pregnant again right away.
I miscarried end of August last year and I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant. Conceived and Christmas time.
I didn't get pregnant on the first two periods after miscarriage but did on the 3rd. I started using ovulation testing kits on this cycle and discovered I ovulate 3 days later than my app predicts which I think helped conceive.
Good luck! It's a tough time.

Backtotheoldskool · 07/03/2020 20:37

Sorry to you had to go through this.

I had a missed miscarriage on 19th August 2019. Had my period on 16th September. Another period on 20th October then conceived early November.
Currently 5 months pregnant.

Was desperate to get pregnant again. It was all I could think about and it felt like it was dominating my life. Looking back it did catch really quick for us this time around.

We also used Preseed!

Good luck xxx

I miscarried in December and am now 5 weeks pregnant :) it'll happen 🖤

EcoCustard · 07/03/2020 20:42

Mmc and surgical removal Christmas Eve 2013, pregnant with DC1 in Feb 2014. Was advised I would be very fertile but to see how I felt emotionally. Didn't expect it to happen so soon, was very lucky. Take care of youreslf.

happytoday73 · 07/03/2020 21:16

It is horrible to go through but hopefully this thread has given you hope. I wish you luck 🍀😁

Moominmiss · 07/03/2020 21:29

I’m so sorry you’ve gone through this.

I suffered a mc at 8 weeks on 1st January this year. Got my first period on 7th February and got my bfp on 1st March. So for me if happened first proper cycle after. But I’m currently only around 4-5 weeks so very very early days and after last time I’m not excited in the slightest, just terrified.

Good luck!

PancakesNWaffles · 07/03/2020 21:31

Sorry for your loss, OP.

I didn’t feel ready to try again for 3 months after my miscarriage. But when we started trying again I got pregnant the second month of trying and went on to have my DD Grin.

Lots of luck to you.

CuriousCapricorn · 07/03/2020 21:35

I had a mmc in April 2010 and was pregnant again by the May. What was weird was that my first due date was 28th October 2010 and on that same date my dgm passed away very unexpectedly and told me as she was dying that I would have a daughter and she was right. Dd was born on 14th February 2011 and is like her in so many ways.

I’m so sorry for your loss and wish you loads of luck Flowers

Pushingnic · 07/03/2020 21:37

I lost my baby at 12 weeks in October. We felt ready to Start trying again in january and just found out yesterday that I’m pregnant again so second month trying it worked. Super early only about 4/5 weeks and although I’m happy it happened so quick I underestimated how nervous/anxious I would be. I’m constantly waiting to see blood and every pain or crampy stomach really has me feeling so scared.

buddy79 · 07/03/2020 21:43

Sorry for your loss.
I had a missed miscarriage in the February and surgical management in March. Was pregnant again 6 months later. He’s nearly a year old now.
The pregnancy was very nerve wracking especially as I had a lot of bleeding in the first trimester and was terrified I had lost another pregnancy, but he was absolutely fine and perfect. I feel very lucky but it is also a quite common experience I think! Hope it all works out for you op x

Showmeyourhero · 07/03/2020 21:46

Miscarried in February then fell pregnant again in June with DC1. Currently pregnant with my second, miscarried in June and found out we were expecting in September Smile

Bumfuzzled · 07/03/2020 21:51

6 weeks. Although I wouldn’t change it for the world, emotionally it was too soon.

MinesALatte · 07/03/2020 23:38

This post has been really helpful. I miscarried at five weeks mid-Feb (TTC for a year, first ever pregnancy) and we had tried straight away, I’ve got my hopes and expectations up like some of you have mentioned that you’re more fertile afterwards or it’ll catch the very next time. I’m having zero symptoms (whereas last time I had very sore, big boobs) so I’m convinced it’s not worked this time and feeling incredibly down about the whole thing. But it’s helped reading these varying stories, thank you all x

MrsRose2018 · 08/03/2020 08:36

Hi OP,

According to my ovulation/period tracker ‘ Flo’, I had surgical management for my MC on the 14 August 2019.

Got my first period on the 17 September 2019.

Got my BFP 12 November 2019 at 4w+3.

Also I cannot CANNOT recommend the Natural Cycles ovulation app and thermometer enough. I started using it after my hormones had settled after the MC and I 100% believe that’s what helped me get pregnant again so soon as it took us a year to get pregnant the first time!

Good luck and my thoughts are with you at this sad time xx
