How long did it take you to get pregnant after a miscarriage?

Just that really.
I’ve recently had a missed miscarriage, currently waiting for my first period and would like to know how long it took others?

So sorry for your loss, OP.

I fell pregnant in January 2019, miscarried end of March/beginning of April. Had normal periods in May and June, found out I was pregnant again at the end of June. Then had a second miscarriage mid-August.

Had a period in September and then found out in mid-October I was pregnant. I’ll be 25 weeks tomorrow and finally starting to relax a little bit; the first few months were pretty awful as I was so anxious and just convinced it would happen again.

Hi ladies thank you all for your replies, just thought I’d give you and update. I had my 1st period on the 22nd of March and started spotting a little last night after DTD. I have taken a pregnancy test l Today (I’m not really sure why I took it I haven’t had any symptoms just a few twinges) and it’s positive. How can this be when it’s only been 2 weeks since my period? No idea what’s going on and I’m still bleeding a little too.

Two years ago I had a miscarriage in the middle of February. I got my period back middle of March, started trying again in April and got pregnant in June !

I was 33 at the time and mostly just casually trying and didn’t track my ovulation .

It took 9 months for me. Like a pp I kept reading that you are more fertile after a miscarriage but I don't think that's universally the case.

Did you get a negative pregnancy test after your miscarriage OP? If not and there is still anything remaining that will give you a positive test.

Sallyjo27 · 05/04/2020 20:26

@CeibaTree yes I did I also had an internal scan to make sure there was no tissue left (which was all fine).
I just find it a bit strange having a positive test 2 weeks after my period and I’m bleeding lightly now too.

Fingers crossed it is a new pregnancy then. I guess only time will tell - good luck!

Just thought I’d give an update in case anyone ever looks though this thread. It took me 3 months- I’m currently 4 weeks pregnant x

OP you are doing the hardest yards. I lost count of my MC's.

All I will say is that the DC are 22 and 25 now and if what happened hadn't happened I wouldn't have these two and that is unimaginable.

What you are doing is so very hard but I hope things will get better for you. Flowers

Sorry for your loss Flowers we are coming up on 3 years since my (early) miscarriage and still not pregnant again, waiting on ivf after our appointment was cancelled due to coronavirus. Hopefully it will be much sooner for you.

Meanameicallmyself20 · 30/05/2020 23:19

Sorry for your loss OP. 💐
I fell pregnant about 6 months after a MMC but unfortunately lost that pregnancy too. It took another 6 months before I fell pregnant again and then I carried to term. I do have severe endometriosis and pcos though which definitely didn’t help.
Wishing you all the very best x

Sorry for your loss OP 😔 it's such an awful thing to go through. I had a mc in February and then got pregnant again the end of March. I had my 12 week scan today and all was fine. I only actually had 1 normal period in between the loss and getting pregnant. I was surprised it happened so quickly!

Nicol12345 · 12/10/2023 14:43

Thankyou everyone for your kind words and sharing your experiences. It does give me hope for a future pregnancy but I do know like others have said that I will be a bag of nerves during the early days. Sending lots of hugs to those who have or are going through this difficult time. I will update with my scan results tomorrow. Although I know what it will be.

@Sallyjo27 omg so sorry to bring back that memory of pain for you by posting. So sorry to hear about your losses but also so happy to know you finally got your rainbow baby! 🌈. Xxxx

Took us around 8 cycles and honestly I was super stressed out for around 6 months, religiously tracking and worrying and then around November/December I just stopped stressing, enjoyed Christmas and got pregnant. The ovulation monitor hadn’t even had a peak that month, clearly did as I have my 3 month old sleeping on me now 😂
