@wafflewafflewaffle

Congrats on your bfp. I'm waiting to test in the next few days and haven't had any symptoms except for cramps for 9 days and I might be paranoid but my 'cm' hasn't dried up. So, it gives me hope to hear you have a bfp without symptoms!

EasterBunny7 · 29/02/2020 21:55

@bribri1997

Congrats! So good to hear you had your bfp without any symptoms - gives me hope! How many dpo were you when you tested?

EasterBunny7 · 29/02/2020 21:58

@Ann87

Congrats on your bfp! Can completely relate on the ttc for 2 years.

@SqidgeBum I didn’t vomit everyday, but the nausea was bad and certain smells made it worse. I carried this little minty thing around with me thats for smelling when you have motion sickness (it’s not from UK) and had to hold a plastic bag when sitting in the car. Spent a lot of time lying down tbh, but like you, there’s a kid to look after now...oh boy!

SqidgeBum · 29/02/2020 22:51

@Sakura54 I am hoping have a distraction of a crawling baby will help keep me occupied. I used to feel worse when I laid down and thought about it. I was better in work when I was busy. I also have a much better knowledge this time that its all temporary, and worth it!

Sakura54 · 29/02/2020 23:13

Yes, deffo worth it...just have to suck it up and try to survive. I had other issues too.

Yours will have such a good age gap though..I would have liked that! ;)

Talcott2007 · 01/03/2020 02:58

So who would have thought middle of the night sickness would be a thing! I feel so ridiculously nauseous it's actually woken me up. I had very little sickness/nausea with DD at all. I really hope this isn't a regular symptom!

Nombie · 01/03/2020 04:02

@Sakura54 I think I'd told myself it would be hard so expected it to be. We are young, both 29 and mostly healthy so hopefully it stays. I think it won't feel real until I see it on a screen or someone else confirms it's true.

Nombie · 01/03/2020 04:05

@Ann87 I am right there to. I want to be excited and I am but it's a scary time of uncertainty isn't it? I am sorry for your past pain I hope you get your rainbow this time. ☺️

wafflewafflewaffle · 01/03/2020 07:02

@EasterBunny7 you could definitely get a BFP without symptoms! Think all those people who don’t even know they’re pregnant until they’re much further along. Good luck, I hope you get your BFP this month Smile.

Anyone else really struggling to keep it a secret?!!! I'm 15DPO and I've been asked 5 times already if I'm pregnant!

At a family party last night I was asked 4 times because I wasn't drinking Confused told them I was driving, OH was drinking, I'm on a diet (which I am/was - healthy eating, no alcohol or caffeine preparing for a baby!).

Any tips? I hate lying but next time I think ill just tell them Aunt Flo is here!

rachelrainbow · 01/03/2020 08:11

Morning everyone 😊 so nice to see this group growing! I’m 5 weeks today- due on 1st Nov. Got a 2-3 weeks CBD today and so excited that it’s gone up!

Thank you @Nombie is a scary time, I have a six year old through ivf so never fell pregnant naturally then twice in 4 months 😱 hoping it sticks 🌈

Anon87 · 01/03/2020 08:38

@rachelrainbow CONGRATULATIONS!!! 🥰🥰🥰

SqidgeBum · 01/03/2020 08:52

@cmosh I am struggling and nobody has even mentioned anything to me. Nobody expects me to be pregnant. I didn't even expect me to be pregnant! My mom saw on Skype yesterday that I got dizzy when I stood up and I saw her face change as she thought, but she didnt say anything. I couldn't keep my last pregnancy a secret from her and told her at 5 weeks, but I am determined to get to at least 8 weeks this time and tell her in person the next time I see her. It's so hard though!

SJ1989 · 01/03/2020 08:52

Congratulations all!! I'm already getting impatient to start sorting things but I know its too early, still got loads of my daughters baby stuff but obviously no idea on gender for a while!

burntpinky · 01/03/2020 08:58

We weren;t going to tell anyone but were out last night for a good friend's birthday which was a wine tasting with cheese, charcuterie and pate!!!! So they could all see I wasn't drinking and couldn't eat the charcuterie and some of the cheeses so we just had to tell them as it was so awkward! They are good friends though so won't tell anyone! We've not told family yet.

Am struggling big time, esp as we have an almost 18 month old. Just exhausted all the time but can't go sleep/rest! Seems a long long way to 12 weeks (25 april)

burntpinky · 01/03/2020 09:03

Also, I am getting worried about money. I am going to take 9 months off with this one as will be our last, but will only get pay for around 22/23 weeks. We are looking to move house (upgrade) and will also have nursery fees for DC (MIL currently has him but won't be able to cope with 2 so we will have to put him in nursery). I work 28 hours a week currently and going to see if can compress that into 3 days so only have 3 days of nursery to pay for and only have to impress upon MIL 3 days a week with new baby, but to keep those hours up my DH will need to ask his work if he can finish at 4pm 3 days a week so he can collect DC and new baby - hoping they say yes - he's a v hard worker and goes in at 730/8 most mornings even though he doesn't start until 9 and often works through lunch. If they say yes then he can do the drop offs and pick ups 3 days a week, and I can have them 2 days a week and he can start early/finish late on those days.

Luckily we have kept all baby stuff from DC so, if it's a girl most we will have to buy is some more clothes but I am literally starting saving now and really going to look at our food bill (our largest expense)

SqidgeBum · 01/03/2020 09:21

@burntpinky I am so happy I am not the only one who is spending time figuring out the logistics more than beaming with happiness. I gave a 15 month, I am a relatively experienced teacher and I genuinely think I wont be able to afford to work. We have no family so it has to be childcare, and with two kids 3 days a week that is £1300 a month! That's if my job accommodate me for 3 days a week, which they may not. I think my career has come to sudden and unexpected halt and we will have to make it work on one income. I am trying to keep calm at the lack of certainty about it all. The baby is on the way, and we have to sort it out Confused

burntpinky · 01/03/2020 09:30

@SquidgeBum - I hear you. It’s tough isn’t it. I think though (hopefully) these things have a way of working themselves out. If you can’t work does your taxfree allowance pass to hubby? Might make a difference on the figures.

It’s so hard though isn’t it as it really is quite difficult to sort logistics. Never had this first time around! At least, however, it is only for a few years until they reach school age.

SqidgeBum · 01/03/2020 09:35

@burntpinky yes its only going to be me starting at home full time until DD gets free hours at nursery. Then I may be able to find a teaching job that accommodates part time. However, even now with one in nursery 3 days a week I am only coming out with £100 a week after nursery fees. Its disheartening to think after spending 5 years in university and getting what is meant to be a good career I am so badly paid I cant work and have kids. I suppose it is what it is, and I love kids more than I love my job, so I will just have to accept my career isnt progressing for the next 3 or 4 years.

mOmShanti · 01/03/2020 10:36

@Talcott2007 exactly, middle of the night is when I feel most queasy. But as the last week has progressed it’s reduced and now it’s not coming such obvious waves anymore. It’s amazing how the body adapts and adjust. X

Shashie16 · 01/03/2020 11:12

Thanks @EasterBunny7, and congrats to you too! I know the pain and the monthly rollercoaster of TTC and 2 years is a long time to wait.

My second test this morning had a stronger line, though still faint, so off to hunt down a Clearblue test. Trying not to get excited.

Sakura54 · 01/03/2020 11:37

@Nombie same. I got pregnant with my first at 29 too. Yes, I think it’s normal for miscarriage to always be in the back of your mind...up until birth really lol! I try to remain neutral and not get too attached, but that’s easier said than done!

Busybee143 · 01/03/2020 12:16

@SquidgeBum
I am a teacher too which has its positives and negatives, the holidays will be even better now with children (dependant on nursery term time etc) however its one of those jobs where you cant compress hours or build flexi or pick holidays and part time is near dam impossible. Im not looking forward to being knackered while teaching, its a hard but rewarding job!
