Due October

Hi all 👋🏼

Got my BFP today and am approx. 4 weeks 5 days pregnant, with a provisional due date of 9th Oct (according to apps!) Need to call the midwife back later to book in my first appt but other than that don’t really know what to do so thought it might be nice to connect with people who are around the same stage!

Husband and I are both 32, it’s baby #1 and we’re extremely lucky in that it was month one of TTC. I’m very shocked, a bit terrified and really excited. Can’t wait to tell our parents but want the midwife appt out of the way first if it’s not too far away.

So, anyone due around the same time? How’re you feeling? It’s all so overwhelming!

Hi, congratulations!
I think I'm due around 11th October 😁 I'm 30 and it's #3 for me! How are you feeling? And symptoms? X

southcoast2 · 13/02/2020 10:14

Hi I just got my bfp this morning, due 20 October according to the apps. Slightly freaking out 😂😂

Sadie95 · 13/02/2020 11:50

Hey! I got my BFP this morning 😁

Amymummyx2 · 13/02/2020 12:24

Congratulations ladies 😊

Magentastorm101 · 13/02/2020 13:12

Hi ladies!

I'm due October also and I've just turned 40 🤦🏼‍♀️

This baby was a bit of a surprise as we already have 6 (yes you read that right) children already.

A lovely surprise though and even though I have my worries about being an older mum I'm excited for thing to come.

SkyBlue20 · 13/02/2020 13:13

Congratulations everyone! How are you all feeling?

Congratulations everyone!!! It's so exciting think I'm in shock.bugger all work being done today 😂

I'm 36 and I have a 2.5yr old son,we started trying in Jan so I'm a bit shell shocked as thought the second would take longer.
Think my due date is 20 October but think it's more likely around the end of october from my ovulation dates.

Just self referred to the midwife (prob way too soon as period was due today and I've only got a faint line 😂😂 ) think I just want to add someone else to the list I can tell.

Magentastorm101 · 14/02/2020 01:47

Hope you are all feeling well!

Anyone any major symptoms yet? 🥰

Sadie95 · 14/02/2020 07:48

Just sore boobs and nausea for me x

Sunshine1606 · 14/02/2020 07:50

Hi everyone!

I'm due on the 23rd of October. No real symptoms here so I'm still poas to make sure the line is still there...! It definetely is. How is everyone else feeling?

I also have a 2.5 year old son but the second time did take longer for us.

If everyone self referring to the hospital or going through the nurse at go surgery. I moved drs since my first and have no idea what to do!

Happy weekend everyone x

southcoast2 · 14/02/2020 08:04

Congratulations Everyone!
Symptoms wise for me it's just a dry mouth, but last week I irrationally lost my shit with my husband so the hormones are definitely kicking in 😂
*Sunshine1606 I've self referred through my doctors app but I think you can do it through the hospital trust you want to be with website x

Annabel28 · 14/02/2020 09:01

Got BFP last week - due approximately 12th October.
I'm 33 and this is my second pregnancy - first born is now 18 months and a real handful! Tbh this pregnancy is unplanned (contraception mess up) and initially I was very upset but I'm coming round to the idea.
Very few symptoms other than tiredness. I did a second test yesterday as can't quite believe I'm pregnant - still positive! But I'm only 5+4 and I think with last one morning sickness didn't kick in until 7-8 weeks.
Would be good to stay in touch with mums at a similar stage.

Amymummyx2 · 14/02/2020 10:35

@Annabel28 oh bless you, here if you need to talk hun. It's always hard when the pregnancy isn't planned!
The symptoms I've had are tiredness, sore boobs and I had cramping from ovulation until week 5 but that has died down now. It's so hard not telling anyone! Has everyone else told anyone?

SkyBlue20 · 14/02/2020 12:34

No major symptoms from me - really sore (and hard - TMI!) nipples most mornings but otherwise I’m occasionally tired, have some cramps and had a wave of real nausea this morning but am otherwise ok, nothing is too bad...yet!

@Sunshine1606 I rang the doc and they told me to call the midwife so just did that. Have my booking appt next Wed (19th), when I’ll be 6+5.

@Amymummyx2 We’ve told a few people - parents, siblings and a couple of friends for one reason or another but that’s it now until the 12 week scan, have told people purely on a need to know basis!

Magentastorm101 · 14/02/2020 13:08

We've not told anyone apart from a friend of mine who I confided in when I first found out. It's strange I've not even told my best friends yet but I'm so worried something will happen due to my age (40) so I told a friend who's close but I don't really see much if that makes sense?

Symptoms wise just feeling tired but my iron level is low so it could be down to that also.

This was also unplanned so I know how you feel. I'm more worried about what everyone else is going to say tbh. As this will be our 7th!?! 🤦🏼‍♀️

I've always wanted a big family but we had decided we were done at 6. And were using contraception at the time.

The worst thing is because we have all boys, people just assume we have so many because we just keep trying for a girl. And people's disappointment when our 6th was another boy made me so angry!

So I'm considering trying to keep it hidden until we can have a private gender scan at 16 weeks then announce it. But not sure if I can keep quiet for that long it's already killing me lol 😂

Sunshine1606 · 14/02/2020 14:54

Thanks @southcoast2 and @SkyBlue20 I've referred myself online. I'm sure i saw my dr last time but apparently everything has changed! They will contact me within 2 weeks apparently. Can you let us know what happens at your booking appointment next week?

Come to think of it, I have been really hormonal too! I've been on the verge of tears for no reason. I'm also eating soooooooooo much and feel hungry all the time. I'm justifying this in my head as eating for 2 but really do need to reign it in! Are you guys taking any supplements since you found out?

Wow! @Magentastorm101 7th, that's amazing! Try not to worry about what other people think. It's your life and your family. X

Amymummyx2 · 14/02/2020 15:51

I had to self refer online too, seems strange but that's how it's done now.
I literally haven't told anyone so feel like I'm going through it on my own. I don't want to tell anyone before I tell my kids but don't want to tell them to early incase anything goes wrong. It's strange because I feel like I'm worrying more this time, maybe because it's my last one 😬

emstone · 15/02/2020 13:42

Hi everyone :)

I also got my BFP on the 5th of Feb. Clear Blue said 2-3 weeks so I'm around the 4 weeks mark now. Told both of our parents but will keep it at that as it's still so early and I know it sounds silly but I don't want to jinx anything!

I have my first midwife appointment booked for two weeks time, should be around 6 weeks at that point!

Can anyone tell me what they do during the first appointment? Are they able to do a dating scan from then or will I have to wait for the 12 week scan?

Think I might book a private scan when I get back from holiday around 8 weeks for peace of mind!

Annabel28 · 15/02/2020 18:28

The 12 week scan is the dating scan, they won't do an earlier one unless there are suspected complications. From what I remember the first appointment is just lots of paperwork +/- blood test and urine dip.

emstone · 15/02/2020 19:40

@Annabel28 thank you!

Rockthis · 15/02/2020 23:31

Awww Congratulations.....When did you guys conceive/days that led to pregnancy?

southcoast2 · 17/02/2020 18:33

I just got my scan date for the 9th April! cant believe how quick it has come through.

Ive got no symptoms yet so still doesn't quite feel real yet

how is everyone feeling?

ZsaZsaMc · 17/02/2020 19:18

Hi all, can I join?

@Annabel28 v similar situation - also 5+4, 33 and #2 (with a 20 month old at the moment). Although this was planned, #1 wasn’t so I know that feeling of shock and horror!

ZsaZsaMc · 17/02/2020 19:20

Symptoms are tiredness and lower back pain which is making me a bit anxious but hopefully normal
