I'm 20 weeks pregnant and my proper cravings have only recently kicked in properly, they are....

Salad 😂 salad leaves, cucumber, peppers, avocado, sweet corn.
Sweet potatoes or normal potatoes
Fruit like grapes, strawberries, mango
Lemon squash, I love the stuff!
Cheese

I was expecting to crave weird stuff or unhealthy foods so I'm quite chuffed 😊 I could easily eat this stuff and nothing else.

Not really had any till third trimester. Currently addicted to fruit, especially oranges. Grapes, apples also a lot. And orange and apple juice. Wake up needing citrus and fluids.

Bookworm83 · 01/02/2020 19:11

Blueberries and apples, and now in the third trimester also citrus fruit.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/02/2020 19:28

Ds 1 was beetroot in vinegar and any other vinegary stuff (like very cheap salt and vinegar crisps), I actually got sore spots on my tongue from all the acid

Ds2 was cheese and bbq sauce, ideally in sandwiches but sometimes just cheese dipped in bbq.

In both, I also really craved the smell of bleach.

With my dd I had no cravings.

firstimemamma · 01/02/2020 19:34

Fruit. Any fruit! I just went mad for it, especially citrus fruit. Satsumas were my favourite.

Went completely off parsnips.

MusicToMyEars800 · 01/02/2020 19:35

DD1: chocolate digestives dipped in tea ( I would do half the pack with one cup) chips and fish cake from the chippy with gravy and curry sauce, those strawberry twanged sweets, cheese and onion sarnies.

DD2: lemon curd (Tesco own brand) straight out of the jar, the smell of Tesco lemon washing up liquid, tomato soup with really crusty bread topped with loads of butter, peanut butter and chocolate spread on toast, apple juice, and I used to love soaking a flannel with cold water leaving it for a while then sucking the water out of it.

Really not the healthiest Grin

sel2223 · 01/02/2020 19:36

Not mine as I'm only 12 weeks but my sisters was mango chutney....on everything!

Mango chutney on chips
Mango chutney on bread
Mango chutney on pizza

She can't touch the stuff now Grin

firstimemamma · 01/02/2020 19:36

Forgot to add satsumas are my son's favourite fruit and he loves all fruit generally. There is also a link between cravings and child's fave food with 3 of my friends and their little ones. I know 4 people is hardly anything to base a theory on but the idea just pleases me for some reason, I don't know why! Anyone else have any experience of this?

Legallybleachblonde · 01/02/2020 19:47

Tangfastics! Fizzy Fish. Sherbet. Couldn't stop 🙈

delilahbucket · 01/02/2020 19:54

Crisp and ketchup sandwiches, dandelion and burdock (would easily drink 2L every evening and I'm not a fizzy drink person) and Clementines.

Honeybee85 · 01/02/2020 19:55

Mango
And straciatella yoghurt.

DroppedMySausage · 01/02/2020 19:56

Sponges Blush I would trawl the shops looking for the right type of bath sponges (coloured ones I remember from when I was a kid). I didn't eat them, I just loved to smoosh them into my face and sniff them HmmBlush

soundsystem · 01/02/2020 19:56

DD1: Pineapple. So much pineapple. Tinned, fresh, pineapple soda. I still have a couple of tins in the cupboard that I can't even look at.

DS: None whatsoever

DD2: Bacon double cheeseburgers. Despite having been vegetarian for 30 years! (Got some iron tablets pretty promptly!)

iklboo · 01/02/2020 20:01

First two months - fresh orange juice first thing in the morning

Middle months - Twixes, salt & vinegar crisps, garlic, pickled onions. Lightly done toast and raspberry jam for breakfast.

End months - Haagen Dazs strawberry ice cream mini tubs as well as the middle months

Totally went off chicken and broccoli.

FirstTimeDS · 01/02/2020 20:02

2nd trimester was gravy.
3rd is hummus 🤷

scottishginlover · 01/02/2020 20:07

I had more food aversions than cravings, but with DD1 and this pregnancy I just wanted milk and cream. Ashamed to say I used to eat clotted cream from the tub with a spoon. Never had it with DD2 who turned out to have a milk allergy 😂 with her I craved coffee and couldn’t stomach tea! I also want tea all the time just now with this one too.

Scoose · 01/02/2020 20:08

Crystalised ginger from Holland and Barrett I couldn't stop eating it and used to stock up on the biggest bags they had!

homeEdu · 01/02/2020 20:14

This is how I knew I was pregnant every time -a sudden overwhelming urge to suck water from the bath sponge or a flannel - every time !!!

eandz13 · 01/02/2020 20:16

First 7 months with first two and this one so far - pickles, pickled onion anything, cola cubes
Last 2 months - dry wall. Crumbly, musty smelling dry wall. Happened with my first two and I'm actually quite scared of craving it again this time because it was such an intense craving, it actually made me cry because I couldn't eat the wall!

Ninkanink · 01/02/2020 20:18

Cornflakes with cold milk.

Chapatis and dhal.

I was living in Moscow at the time and western foods were not readily available.

Ninkanink · 01/02/2020 20:21

Argh posted too soon... so I couldn’t get cereals. I mourned that every day at breakfast time.

The Indian food was a little easier as I could get tinned lentils. I made a very bad approximation of Dahl, my own chapatis and just about survived on those for several months.

chocolate26 · 01/02/2020 20:21

These are great 😃 @Redannie118 I understand the carrots with mud on! It actually sounds quite appealing, I've just had a whole carrot with hummus after reading your post. @DroppedMySausage that made me laugh 😆 I have an aversion to any kind of cleaning products! Clean washing makes me feel sick, washing up liquid is awful. Any kind of housework is horrendous! My DH thinks I'm putting this one on but I'm actually not.

@eandz13 😂 I'm laughing at your dry wall comment but I can also imagine how frustrating it must of been not to be able to eat it! Not as funny as yours but I cried the other day whilst eating halloumi cheese because it was so good.

Dyra · 01/02/2020 20:26

Spaghetti and meatballs. I could have eaten it for every meal. Except breakfast. Breakfast had to be Coco Pops.

2019bride · 01/02/2020 20:29

Ice lollies! I could drink loads of cold drinks but they just weren't enough. I would have ice lollies at any time of day and if I was unable to have ice lollies for any reason then I'd make do with ice cubes.
