My friend has 2 tickets but DH thinks we shouldn't go even though I feel really well and the 02 centre is not TOO far away from home and hospital.

I wouldn't but think you should. I never went anywhere or did anything.

NoMoreGuiltTrips · 01/09/2007 19:44

I did Bon Jovi in Hyde park just before due date with DS1 - he didn't even wake up!!! I was expecting at least a little kicking to 'It's my life'....!!!!! Enjoy yourself, but charge your mobile and make sure you can get to the car quick.

tillykins · 01/09/2007 19:50

eek! no, I wouldn't!

oooggs · 01/09/2007 19:51

no cos none of my pregnancys made it that far

Biglips · 01/09/2007 19:53

i went to watch "The Dogs" (greyhound racing) with my work do and i was 39 weeks pg and i was in Manchester - i live in Liverpool. I felt well enough to go but all my work mates were terrified for me!! !

dissle · 01/09/2007 19:53

i saw Nicleback...kept my coat over my bump to protect little earoles!!!
was fine.

Sarahjct · 01/09/2007 19:57

I intend to go to the Pogues at Brixton Academy at 37 weeks. We go every year and are never stupid enough to stand downstairs so I'll be perched up on the balcony as usual... unless the little lady puts in an appearance before then!

maxbear · 01/09/2007 20:55

What is the worst that can happen? If you feel well on the day it is extremely unlikely to happen really quickly and without warning. If it does start when you are there you just leave and go home where you will probably stay for many hours until the time is right to go to the hospital!!

PregnantGrrrl · 01/09/2007 20:57

i wouldn't go a Prince concert full stop

and isn't he famed for long performances? perhaps he could serenade you through labour?!

helenelisabeth · 01/09/2007 21:01

I am 39 weeks and I would go - if you don't want to - I WILL!!! Lurve Prince! Imagine if you went into labour at a Prince concert, you would be in the papers!

Bewilderbeast · 01/09/2007 21:03

yes go, it'll be a great last blast and baby will enjoy the music.

sparklygothkat · 01/09/2007 21:05

I have concert tickets for next month and will be 36 weeks, I have never carried to 36 weeks so don't know if I will be able to go or not, but DH said to get tickets and take SIL as he trust her to look after me

MingMingtheWonderPet · 01/09/2007 21:07

I had had both of mine by 39 weeks, so not a good idea for me!
IF you go past your due date though you will be gutted you didn't go.
Worth the risk?

gingeme · 01/09/2007 21:08

I would go while in labour!! When I was younger I looooooved Prince and went to a concert in Ideapolis when I won tickets and Wembley and Earls Court and Wembley again. And he still looks as cute now as he ever did. Go for it you lucky woman

artichokes · 01/09/2007 21:08

i would. you should.
worst that can happen is you get a FAB labour story.
enjoy - its an amazing performance.

massivebigpantsface · 01/09/2007 21:16

I would go - you won't get another chance!

lizziemun · 01/09/2007 21:19

I wanted to go but DH wouldn't take me , as dd came at 39 weeks.

I am now 40 + 3 and nothing i shappening, so if he had taken me maybe something may have happen by now.

sparkler · 01/09/2007 21:23

Yes deffo!! We went to see him recently and he was fab. Like you say, O2 is not far from home or hospital so if anything were to happen you will be fine.
Just tell DH once that baby arrives you won't have chance to go anywhere with just the two of you for quite some time. Go make the most of the time you have together!!!!!!!!!!

Piffle · 01/09/2007 21:26

I'd got to see Prince even if my waters had broken

Shoshable · 01/09/2007 21:44

Back in the 80's went to a Paul Young Concert (yes I know but he was BIG then) at 28 weeks, and went into Labour, the St Jons people were great, got me out and to the hospital quicker than if Id called a ambulance from home!

cazzybabs · 01/09/2007 21:51

No don't go - I am happy to take your place I will only be about 30something weeks...

Oh I would go - what are the changes..and it is quite unlikely you will have a super quick labour so you will get plenty of warning that either you shouldn't go or you should leave. When I was in the early stages labour with dd2 I walked round town, met a friend for lunch, picked dd1 up from nursery, made tea, put TENS on and then 12 hours latee she was born (I do long slow labours!)

Howdydoody · 01/09/2007 21:53

you must go. If your waters go and he finds out about it you might get a visit or at least a bunch of flowers, like you do with Marks and Spencers

Rowlers · 01/09/2007 21:56

I'm going next week but I'll only be 34 weeks. And I'm not O2 local so I probably wouldn't.
But if it's not too far away for you and you feel OK, why not?

NappiesGalore · 01/09/2007 21:56

i heard this tour is his last (could be wrong) and hes pulling out all the stops... hes a hell of a performer - saw my forst prince concert in 1990 - sigh - go, you'll love it!

and if owt happens the st jons ambulance people will see you right, like shoshable says.

am
