Hi,

I'll be 38 weeks when my antenatal classes finish and now I'm worried I've booked them too late :-/ It's a 5 week course though so I should be fine for the first few sessions Smile so was just wondering when everyone had their first? x

I was 40+4 having my first.

Statistically, the majority of first babies are late so chances are you’ll be fine. Antenatal classes aren’t particularly useful IMO anyway. You’ll know what to do when the time comes.

Xiaoxiong · 18/01/2020 07:31

I was 41+6 with my first. He didn't want to come out!

ooooohbetty · 18/01/2020 07:32

Mine was 2 weeks early

Tinty · 18/01/2020 07:33

40+3 I think you will probably be fine. My advice is take all the drugs. 😁

MamatobeFeb20 · 18/01/2020 07:33

I was 34+4 and had just been to the first antenatal class about birth, so i was prepared and was fresh in my mind at least haha! Statistically, you're more likely to over with your first.

Hodge85 · 18/01/2020 07:34

@DragonMamma I'll be honest the classes will be more beneficial for my DH as he hasn't got the foggiest about babies, labour, etc Grin

@Tinty I've said from the beginning that I don't care where I give birth as long as they give me aaaall the drugs haha Grin

40+12. Antenatal classes were a complete waste of time imho. Nothing that wasn't covered in 'what to expect when You're expecting' and on MN! No one fpoke to each other, so no meet-ups afterwards or anything .

ShowOfHands · 18/01/2020 10:07

39 weeks

I went to one antenatal class. DH fell asleep. We didn't go back.

WhenTwoBecomeThree · 18/01/2020 10:09

40+6 but my waters were broken during a sweep, imagine it would have been a good few days past that otherwise!

40 weeks with my 3.
Never set foot in an antenatal class.
What to Expect When You're Expecting was my bible with DC1, 18 years ago and I didn't really read anything else (bar going online once in a while) with my other two.
I'd still say What to Expect is the best book out there.

Xyzzzzz · 18/01/2020 10:11

39 weeks - I was induced though

Engard · 18/01/2020 17:09

Induced at 41+1 😫
Hoping baby 2 doesn't make me wait so long

BlackBlueBell · 18/01/2020 17:13

I finished my classes bang on my due date and then gave birth at 41+5, so just go with it and whatever happens happens

ThePolishWombat · 18/01/2020 17:14

My first was born 38+1, but waters had already broken at 37+5

RoLaren · 18/01/2020 17:19
