Past due date - anxiously waiting!

Baby boy was due New Year’s Day making me 40+2 today. I have a midwife appointment this morning where she’s hopefully gonna do a sweep - really hope it helps get things moving - I’ve scared myself googling and really don’t fancy an induction!

Little boy finally made his appearance At 1650 on Thursday - only 15 days late (!) and a bit dramatic to say the least.

Induction part 2 was on Tuesday so wasn’t allowed to go home, waters broke 9am Weds (part 1) and again at 2pm (part 2) but only 1cm dilated. Given the oxytocin drip at some ungodly hour on Wednesday night as I was only 3cm dilated at that time. I’d been having regular contractions which were getting stronger but wasn’t making progress. Took the epidural with both hands and had a wonderful sleep on Wednesday night. OH spent the night watching the monitors with the midwife, he must have driven her nuts!

Went into established labour about 4 on Thursday morning and I was pushing for about an hour and a half when bubs decided to turn his head and look where he was going, which meant that I ended up with forceps being used to realign him and a team effort to push him out. Small episiotomy and stitches which (fingers crossed) seems to be healing well so far.
