5 weeks and spotting

I was spotting for about 7 days before AF was due, AF then arrived 3 days early but only bled properly for 2 days. Did a test on the 23rd (was on day 2 of AF) and had a faint positive, did a CB digital on Xmas eve and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant!
I've been spotting very lightly ever since, no cramps but constant lower back ache. Still getting faint positives on cheaper tests.
Anyone had a similar experience and turned out everything was ok? I'm going to go to the docs on Monday

yep. I spotted early on in all 3 pregnancies. Panicked each time! All were fine. Fingers crossed for you. x

I'm 5wks 5 days, started spotting on Monday, went to hospital to get hormones checked and got scan the following day. Too early to see embryo but I'm freaking out because I'm still spotting.
For how long have others been spotting and things turned out OK?

@drubio did they say your hormone levels were normal?
I want to go to the docs but I though maybe it would be pointless as they won't be able to see anything on a scan at this stage. I just keep taking tests everyday lol

Hormone levels were fine at the time. I wouldn't go to the gp, they won't be able to do much. I went to a EPU with a walk in, bigger hospitals have it. I had mild cramping on first day and then it stopped.

I hope it sticks for us xx

@drubio yeah my nearest hospital only accepts referrals for the EPU. Il have a look where the nearest one is though!

Spotting continued and went to the hospital to get bloods checked and a scan, we were visiting my in laws in the North so went to a different hospital. His one levels came back looking good so that gave us some reassurance.

When we got back to London this evening I started bleeding . I am having to wear a pad and I am terrified of what might happen. No cramping as of yet.

We plan to go back to the hospital tomorrow first thing and find out what's going on. I feel so deflated and sad.

Exactly the same with me :( started bleeding about an hour ago quiet heavy, clots and all.

I started bleeding yesterday lunch time, at 1st it was just when I wiped but as the day went on it got heavier, around 8pm it just stopped. Having spoken to a few friends it's perfectly normal?!? The blood looked dark red/brown, so maybe my body was clearing out old blood. I did rush off to the shop last night & got a CB weeks indicator test but haven't done it yet, too nervous!!

I bled heavily at 14 weeks but was told that as it was dark red/ brown blood that it was nothing to worry about. It was old period or implantation blood clearing out.

Just back from hospital, nurse told me to relax and go back when I'm due to be scanned again (next week). I lost my shit, I felt she was so patronising by telling me there's nothing they can test or check now because of the NICE guidelines.

How can I relax when I've gone through a similar experience in the past??

Just got back from hospital, my bloods still showed HCG albeit low, but he said that's quite normal as I'm early. However as I've passed clots they want give me a scan, so got one at 9am tomorrow. Hopefully more answers then x

I'm with you all on the worrying bandwagon!

I'm waiting on a scan on Friday to check what's going on.... I passed a clot tonight about the size of a kidney bean, about 2cms in size.

I'm terrified of the bad news I might get. Waiting till Friday at 10.20am is going to drag!!!

The nurse I saw today said that bleeding can be common. I am hoping she is right. Xx

I have a cb weeks indicator test, would it be worth doing that in the morning? I did one on the 25th & it showed 2-3 weeks, just worried incase it shows the same or less.
I tried to get hold of my gp today but no one answers, if i'm still bleeding tomorrow i'll call our local epu to see what they suggest.
I didn't have any pain when i bled yesterday but have had mild cramping most of the day today.

@kkr168 I'd wait to get hcg tested by the hospital/doctors as will be more accurate and will give an indication if they can scan. The CB is designed to test small enough amounts of hcg to tell if there's a pregnancy.

You can Google for hospitals with a EPU walking service and also get your GP to refer you to your local one xx

@kkr168 hi just reading this thread. CB week indicators to get the 2-3 reading you need a level of 156-2000 HCG and for the 3+ you need a minimum of 2600. Hope this helps 😊

@SweetpeaOrMarigold Had a scan yesterday, my uterus was empty. Said it could be because I'm still too early, but they wanted to rule out an ectopic or MC so sent me for another blood test. Had BT today, HCG levels have increased but barely, they were 228 2 days ago and they are now 268. It's been 48 hours so they should have doubled. Spoke to the doctor on the phone and they want me to go in again on Sunday for more bloods! This is so draining, i just want to know what's happening 😭
The more and more research I'm doing it looks like it's ectopic, but I hope I'm wrong 🤞🏼

I've been fine til today when I fell over messing about and now I have a lot of cramps and bleeding. Just have to wait and see what happens x

@xxchlobo90xx I’m in the same boat....

I had a scan today after the bleed and 2 clots this week. Nothing to be seen via an internal and external examination. I had bloods done and they came back this afternoon at 109, so I’m back Sunday at 11am for the repeat to see if I’ve progressed any?!
I’ve been using the strip pregnancy tests this week and since Wednesday the positive is fading and the midwife got a faint positive today so she expects my Sunday bloods will be less again and i’ll have an early miscarriage confirmed next week.

Passed a very big clot at 4am so presume I'm done. Am on holiday so will have to ring epu and ask what to do 😔
