5 weeks and spotting

I was spotting for about 7 days before AF was due, AF then arrived 3 days early but only bled properly for 2 days. Did a test on the 23rd (was on day 2 of AF) and had a faint positive, did a CB digital on Xmas eve and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant!
I've been spotting very lightly ever since, no cramps but constant lower back ache. Still getting faint positives on cheaper tests.
Anyone had a similar experience and turned out everything was ok? I'm going to go to the docs on Monday

@doublebarrellednurse For you what was “spotting”. I’m 5-6 weeks and spotted once on New Year’s Eve (only for three hours and only on tissue) but since Thursday I’ve been spotting again and have bled onto a pad once or twice. Got a scan on Monday but read so many different things online. I know it’s different for everyone but I’m so confused as to what is classed as spotting and what is classed as bleeding.

No didnt go to a+e because I'm in the middle of nowhere with limited healthcare 🙁
Am flying home Monday so will go straight to epau for scan or bloods or whatever, but I'm bleeding heavily with cramps. Havent seen any tissue so far. Kids don't know so I'm having to hide my cry face all the time and I'm snapping at them for nothing

@hopefulmumtobe I had enough blood that I had to wear a pad or panty liner or stain my underwear / feel damp all day. It was dark blood most of the time but did get very pink at one stage.

My local area doesn't offer scans till 7/8 weeks as there isn't really much way to tell whether it's a viable pregnancy or not before then.

When we went at 8+2 there were two sacs but only one with a heartbeat so that explained that.

Well I've just passed something that looks like uterine lining when I've googled it. Still have cramps and still bleeding. Am trying not to think too much.

@SweetpeaOrMarigold oh I'm so so sorry 😢 I really feel for you, I know how awful it is. Must be so hard with your other kids too. Make sure you go straight to the hospital in Monday xx

My test was negative tonight. Devastated.
Will cry a lot and then start again.

@drubio I'm still having blood tests every 48 hours, got some more tomorrow. My HCG levels are increasing but not a lot, went from 228, 268 and 333. So they're not doubling like they should, I'm pretty sure it's ectopic 😔. Will see what they are tomorrow x

I do not wish to upset anyone further but I would like to share my experiences.

1st pregnancy had several instances of spotting/bled and cramps but now have a healthy 2 year old

2nd pregnancy was smooth until one day at work I wiped and there was blood. It's was much more than spotting and soon each time I went for a wee the water turned red with blood. I knew although I had bled before this was much worse. Ended in mc

Unfortunately as hard as it sounds if it's happening it's going to happen. Relax. After my bloods were taken I took myself to the cinema to try and escape what was happening. I cried in the car on the way there, watched a film like a normal person and then cried when I got back to the car.

@drubio with my first pregnancy I had an early scan too as my HGC levels were not increasing as they should. I was convinced of the worst. He is now 2 years old.

Maybe for you Always think the worst but then have a wonderful surprise?

So I went to the hospital for the scan yesterday. The sac is there but no baby. The nurse did say it could be because I’m earlier than I think, so to rescan in a weeks time. I just want to know either way.

Thank you @Louisg. We saw the heartbeat and know why spotting is happening. Got a reassurance scan in a couple of weeks time. One milestone at a time xx
