Hi all. I was so excited. Tested positive for pregnancy on 14/12/19. On boxing day I started experiencing brownish pink discharge..... it was just on wiping and wasn't a lot tbh. I went to the hospital and they done a pregnancy test which was positive. They also took bloods and showed my levels at 1098 and booked me for another blood test saturday.

My pregnancy symptoms had disappeared
on christmas eve and boxing day ...... today I woke up feeling nauseous and no blood but as the day has gone on I've had more and more and its now bright red. It looks like a normal period but less again only on wiping.

I feel really scared and upset. Anyone have any advice? I don't have any pain as of yet but I have quite a bit of blood on wiping its bright red and I have a few drops on the pad.

I am expecting bad news. I'm heartbroken 😔😔 xx

There is still hope @OP! My sister had bleeding through both her pregnancies and turned out ok.
I had spotting with my second and third, I was terrified as I already had two miscarriages, but they turned out ok.

Tell them when you go in tomorrow, at 1000 hcg they should be able to see something on the scan. I hope all the best for you! Keep us updated!

El2El · 27/12/2019 18:48

Sorry it sounds very stressful. I bled midway through my pregnancy a few times and I have friends who bled a lot in early pregnancy. We've gone on to have healthy babies. As far as I know, from training to doctors, it's very common and not a stand alone sign that anything bad has happened. Have you taken another pregnancy test? I know it probably feel impossible, but try to stay positive and speak to midwife soon.

Mooey89 · 27/12/2019 18:48

Do you have an epu nearby? Can you get an early scan?

El2El · 27/12/2019 18:50

*talking to doctors, not training

QueenAnneBoleyn · 27/12/2019 18:51

I had a bleed at around 6 weeks. Bright red and heavy ( sorry if TMI ). Naturally I thought the worst.

All turned out to be ok and I now have a beautiful toddler.

Fingers crossed everything is ok for you. Flowers

avocadoze · 27/12/2019 18:52

I bled at Christmas 2006. I must have been 6 weeks. Ds2 is playing Minecraft now.

slipperywhensparticus · 27/12/2019 18:53

Advice is gp or epu

Personally I bled loads with my second he turned 11 before Christmas so its not always the end

MerryChristmasUfilthyanimal · 27/12/2019 18:57

I've bled with all of my pregnancies.
The worst was DC3. I went to the toilet and filled the toilet with blood. Then blood while wiping for a few days.

I went for a scan and everything was fine. They didn't explain what had happened and there was a bit more further down the line. But everything turned out fine in the end.

CloudyVanilla · 27/12/2019 18:58

Please go and get checked urgently Flowers

It is important for your health even though it is scary :( there are things other than miscarriage which can cause fresh bleeding such as subchorionic haematomas, and it doesn't necessarily mean that the pregnancy is over.

Best of luck to you Flowers

namina · 27/12/2019 19:31

I bled with both of my pregnancies so not always bad news.

Michette · 27/12/2019 19:53

Don’t expect bad news OP.
Try to stay positive until you get a scan...
I had similar symptoms and it did end in a miscarriage but i don’t regret hoping for a sticky bean until the very end.

As others have said it can be anything and the sonographer confirmed that some people will bleed heavily and have a healthy pregnancy and some will bleed little and will lose it. There is no rule so try to stay positive!

Good luck Flowers

Anxiousmummy123 · 27/12/2019 20:39

You are all so kind. I've been really tearful today and you have all been so lovely. It's really helped as I can't talk to anyone else apart from my husband. I don't feel optimistic at all 😔.... but was very happy to hear some if your stories had happy endings.

I will update after appointment tomorrow thanks everyone. I hope and hope I'm wrong 😔 xx

Good luck OP. I won't say be positive because if you're anything like me that's impossible.
But I really do wish you all the luck in the world and have everything crossed for you.

Babyg1995 · 27/12/2019 20:49

Good luck tomorrow op I had bleeding at 6 weeks they gave me a scan and all was fine I'm now 25 weeks .

WorldsOnFire · 27/12/2019 21:02

Oh OP 💐

FWIW I was in your situation. At 6 weeks (ish) I went to pee and there were chunks of mucus/discharge with bits of red blood in.
I was very unwell (beginnings of hyperemesis) and honestly thought I was going to MC.

Went to the hospital, had to go back the next day for an early scan. Didn’t sleep all night 😭

It was all ok. Im currently laid in bed being kicked to death by a DS who is rapidly running out of room.

My fingers are crossed for you xx

Butterbeeeen · 27/12/2019 21:05

I bled a lot with DS2 particularly after I'd been to the loo (tmi) it was always bright read and heavy at times. I have also been unlucky enough 2 have 2 mc which were both very different. Significant pain and clots x

Anxiousmummy123 · 28/12/2019 16:15

Have been to the hospital and they have taken bloods to check the hormone levels. They said I'll get the result tomorrow morning. Its progressed to looking like a period now..... I need proper pads and I have period paid. In my heart I know what the test will come back with. Just before I left I went loo (sorry if its gross and tmi) and I had a big bit fall out. 😔😔

My husband was at work so I had to drive myself to the hospital and back..... it's been hard. Meant to go to the in laws tonight for more christmas celebrations but I absolutely do not have it in me.

Will update after the call tomorrow at 9:30 but I feel in my heart I know what the news will be 😔.

Xx

MerryChristmasUfilthyanimal · 28/12/2019 17:49

I am so sorry. Please look after yourself. Xx

CloudyVanilla · 28/12/2019 18:49

I'm so sorry, my heart is aching for you :(

I will keep you in my thoughts and I will hold onto a glimmer of hope for you until you are sure what is happening.

All the very best either way, please treat yourself with kindness Flowers

drubio · 28/12/2019 22:55

Thinking of you xx I'm in a similar situation on, just the waiting game to see if I get good or bad news

MerryChristmasUfilthyanimal · 29/12/2019 16:19

Thinking of you @Anxiousmummy123
Hope you're doing OK. Thanks

LynzP85 · 29/12/2019 18:18

I just wanted to post to say you are not alone!
I think I'm 5wks+4, yesterday I had brown discharge. Today I was out for my husband's birthday lunch and felt leaking.... went to the loo and I had red blood, through my underwear and through my jeans! Immediately panicked but found some panty liners in my bag.
Came home, changed the liner and called EPU. Nurse told me to monitor bleeding - am I filling a liner every 15mins? Do I have clots? Or if I start to feel worse in general.

I have some cramping but I've been like that for the last 2 weeks since I found out.

I'll keep you in the loop - hope we both get positive news!

drubio · 29/12/2019 18:43

Cramping can be normal as long as it isn't as bad as period cramps. If you think bleeding gets worse, call your midwife/epu tomorrow and ask them to get you examined. They can do a blood test and/or scan.

Thinking of you @LynzP85

Sizeofalentil · 29/12/2019 19:18

My sister bled heavily during her successful pregnancy but didn't for her miscarriages so have hope!
