Hi! I'm sorry if it's not the place to post this as i know this is a happy place of pregnant mommies.
If that is the case comment on thread and I'll delete it but this will help other women who are ttc in lifting their mood up.

Im going through a mc and so devastated. I've been called on Monday (after a 12 week scan which showed heartbeat uncertain and growth of 6 weeks) for a follow up scan to check and then to choose which option to go forward with.

I've a daughter and this is my first mc. I'm thinking to for d&c but then confused of any risks.
Any mommies or expectant mommies who can share their experiences and success stories please. Itll help all those who are going through this terrible time.

Thank you 💗

I had a miscarriage as my first pregnancy. Now have three beautiful rowdy boys. Be kind to yourself. X

@abigwhale sorry to hear about your mc and so happy to know you have 3 children now 😃

Did you go through a d&c or it happened naturally?? Also how long after mc did you start to ttc?

Hi OP, so sorry you’re going through this. I had 3 MCs back to back, one of which was a MMC and I had a D&C - it was very straightforward, I had no pain and minimal bleeding. Felt human again the day after.
I had tests for recurrent miscarriage and am now 29 weeks pregnant with twin boys.
Take some time for yourself now - the hospital should sign you off work if you want it; I had two weeks off and they made the world of difference.
Wishing you all the best of luck for the future x

Had one miscarriage last November (on my birthday of all days) which resolved naturally. Second miscarriage end of January 2019, had the tablets followed by a d&c for retained products. Fell pregnant 7 weeks later and 40 weeks today. Look after yourself (d&c was best option of the lot IMO)

MindyStClaire · 06/12/2019 13:13

I had a D&C in September, the physical side of things was extremely easy - I was lucky in that I woke up quickly from the anaesthetic (woman next to me was out of it for hours) and had very little bleeding after. If I ever have to choose again, I'll make the same choice in a heartbeat.

I'm 9 weeks now, and hoping for good news. I also have a little girl. Best of luck to you. Flowers

I'm sorry about your loss. I had a d&c at 11 weeks and it was one of the toughest times in my life. I got pregnant again within a couple of months and was blessed with twins.

The d&c was a straightforward procedure for me. I had to wait a week for it due to waiting times which was tough.

Thinking of you - it's not an easy time at all. Thanks

I’m so, so sorry that this happened to you 💐 I had a miscarriage last week, we think the baby died at 7+2. Heartbroken doesn’t even begin to describe it as we had IVF to conceive our daughter (now 4.5) and this was a completely unplanned miracle baby conceived naturally. I’m now 39 and aware time is not on my side.

I decided to have a D&C as although I was bleeding extremely heavily I wasn’t passing the baby or sack. The consultant said there were no risks for future fertility and as I didn’t feel my mental health was up to passing and seeing any tissue at home, I decided that surgical management was the best option for me. It went smoothly, I woke up quickly from the anaesthetic and although I still have some bleeding and cramps just over a week later I think it was definitely the best course of action for my circumstances. They told me that they will test a sample of tissue and should be able to determine why this happened, which was another reason I went for the surgical option.

Please be kind to yourself and if you work don’t hesitate to take the time off that you need to recover physically and mentally. I will have been signed off for three weeks in total by the time I go back (am towards the end of the second week).

I had 2 mc in 3 months. I was pregnant with my now almost 2 year old 3 weeks after my 2nd mc.

MindyStClaire · 06/12/2019 13:58

I waited until I'd had my first period, which took 5 or 6 weeks I think. The hospital said no need to wait that long, but it took me that long to get a negative test anyway.

Bee1710 · 06/12/2019 13:58

@bearspears many congratulations on your twins 💗 thank you for sharing your story.

@hopefulmama34 so sorry to hear that. Thank you for sharing your experience and hope you conceive a healthy baby soon. 💗

Hi @Bee1710 I had a MC with my first pregnancy in May at 6.5 naturally. We fell pregnant in August and I'm now 16+5 weeks. Be gentle and kind to yourself at this time. X

qazxc · 06/12/2019 17:00

Out of 6 pregnancies, I only had one live birth. Mostly first trimester miscarriages, one late one. Physically the earlier miscarriages were easier as I didn't have to go through labour. When I got pregnant the last time ( have DD now), I was nervous but relaxed as time went by and paid for a couple of extra scans for reassurance. You just need to be kind to yourself and take things one day at a time.

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 06/12/2019 20:18

I had a miscarriage in June this year at 11 weeks. It was my second pregnancy (following a perfectly healthy first one) and I was devastated by it. It was a natural mc and happened very quickly. We started TTC three months later and conceived first month. I was quite detached from the pregnancy in the early weeks, I suppose because of what happened previously. I’m now 14 weeks and everything seems fine so far 🤞 getting past 11 weeks was a big milestone for me.

I hope things work out for you OP, it’s such a shitty time Flowers

pastaparadise · 06/12/2019 20:28

Flowers for you - its horrible.

I had 2 early m/c, then a healthy pregnancy. But i never really relaxed and enjoyed it until past 30 weeks as i was left with a horrible realisation of how quickly things can go wrong.

When ds was 1 i got pregnant unplanned (hadnt had a period), but very happy as i was 39. Went for an urgent dating scan as no idea how far along i was, and baby measured 8 weeks but there was no heart beat. I was devastated. Decided to just have natural management as a) didnt want drugs as i was breastfeeding and b) didnt want a night in hospital for d&c. Also i had a strong ferling that i wanted my body to look after the baby for as long as it wanted it. It took 2 weeks in the end, before sudden very painful m/c with contractions. But once it started it was mainly passed in one night, then a week or two of bleeding like a period. We waited a couple of months then i got pregnant with dd a month or two after that.

Best of luck to you

Hello OP, sorry to hear about your MC, sending you hugs Thanks
My first pregnancy was a missed MC at 10 weeks, baby stopped at 8 weeks. Found out at early scan. Was absolutely devastated.
Gave birth to my ds just over a year later. I also have a dd as well, age gap 3.5 years. I've had a couple of more chemical pregnancies.
I'm now 6+6 with my third but very anxious. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

pottypotamus · 06/12/2019 20:35

Forgot to add, had d&c after the missed MC. We gave TTC a break after that but conceived by accidentally 8 months later. Was a very nice surprise Smile

Bee1710 · 06/12/2019 22:35

@pottypotamus thank you so much for sharing! That's so nice to hear. Many congrats 💗

Hiya, I had MC last week and was so upset. Now, I am preparing myself and planning to get pregnant as soon as possible. Is it safe to get pregnant after MC without waiting for the next cycle?

Bee1710 · 06/12/2019 22:51

@Aj140417 sorry to hear that. I've read many people don't wait till their first period and conceive and go onto have healthy pregnancies. Having 1 period cycle makes it easier to date.

Pls make sure to have your hpt negative before you ttc. All the best :)
