Hi! I'm sorry if it's not the place to post this as i know this is a happy place of pregnant mommies.
If that is the case comment on thread and I'll delete it but this will help other women who are ttc in lifting their mood up.

Im going through a mc and so devastated. I've been called on Monday (after a 12 week scan which showed heartbeat uncertain and growth of 6 weeks) for a follow up scan to check and then to choose which option to go forward with.

I've a daughter and this is my first mc. I'm thinking to for d&c but then confused of any risks.
Any mommies or expectant mommies who can share their experiences and success stories please. Itll help all those who are going through this terrible time.

Thank you 💗

@Bee1710 yes, I will. 😃 Ovulate in 10 days! But I need to do PT by end of week, make sure my HPT has dropped and negative. I really want to get pregnant as soon as possible!

Bee1710 · 07/12/2019 06:23

@aj140417 ikwym!! You will soon.. 1st period after mc can be a bit delayed I've heard. Hopefully it comes on time xx

Sorry for your loss.
I had the same last year, baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks but I didn’t find out until I was 12 weeks. I chose medical management, it was pretty painful and traumatic but the nurses were great with me and it was all over within 48 hours.

My cycles were all over the place for around 6 months, then they began to settle down.
I am now 26 pregnant and baby is kicking away in my belly as I write this 😊.

@Bee1710 I just carried on with folic acid. I tried acupuncture but got disheartened quite quickly. You'll get there trust me sending you lots of love x

monstermunchforlunch · 07/12/2019 13:12

I’m so sorry Flowers
I had a mc between my dc, it happened at the end of October and I fell pregnant again at the beginning of January. I’m not going to lie, I couldn’t relax throughout the pregnancy but my second dc was born healthy and is now a whirlwind of mischief and love!

Bee1710 · 07/12/2019 13:56

@monstermunchforlunch thank you for posting. So happy you got pregnant soon and have a healthy baby. How long did your period take to return and did the cycle take time to return to normal length. Also did you take preconception tablets or anything?

Oh @Bee1710 I’m so sorry to hear what you are going through 💐 Mother Nature is very cruel sometimes; I hope you are being kind to yourself.
I have a 4 yr old son. Last year, I lost a baby at 11 weeks after 18 mths ttc. Amongst other emotions I was so angry that I would be back on the ttc treadmill again. Hubby was about to have a hernia op so was out of action and everything felt hopeless. I’d started to book Drs appts to make sure all was well and for hubby to provide samples.
Three months after we started ttc again I fell pregnant (March 2019). After a naturally fretful and emotional pregnancy the end result is 2 weeks old and has just puked breastmilk all down my sleeve!
Don’t give up, I know everything feels hopeless right now but give yourself time to grieve and concentrate on yourself. I thought the only solution would be to fall pregnant again but it took 8 months in all and even then I had mixed emotions when I saw the BFP. I think the break for hubbys hernia was a blessing in disguise.
Be kind to yourself, remember that your body won’t function properly under stress and have faith. Lots of big hugs to you xx

@Bee1710 first miscarriage at 9.5 weeks I let it happen naturally. The spotting started about a week before the actual bleeding and then the sac passed. Unfortunately the dick that scanned me told me I still had retained products (I didn't) so then I had the pessary to start contractions, needless to say nothing came out as I'd already miscarried. Second time I had tfmr at 13.5 weeks, they won't operate at that gestation on NHS so that was a medical miscarriage, pessary and tablets to induce labour. Unfortunately it resulted in d and c as couldn't deliver placenta. Third miscarriage was a 'Chem pregnancy at just befire 5 weeks so like a painful and long period. Didn't have a period after that as conceived straight away before next period. I'm currently 25 weeks so I have my fingers crossed for an uneventful pregnancy and safe birth.

It really is up to you what you do and I think you have to weigh up the risks and benefits of each method. I was worried about d and c as it is a blind procedure and so there are risks that go with it.. Albeit small. I would have preferred to miscarry/terminate naturally but that was out of my hands. Just like when you get to end of pregnancy if placenta is not delivered within a certain time frame, you run the risk of bleeding to death

Rubyroost · 07/12/2019 16:58

Oh forgot to mention have a 2 Yr old who was conceived in between first miscarriage and tfmr

goingtoneedabiggercar · 07/12/2019 17:11

I miscarried at 7/8 weeks in 2015. It knocked me hard and took a long time for me to feel ready to try again, 2 week old DS is asleep on me right now, as far as the pregnancy went DS was perfectly healthy throughout, I had SPD but it's slowly getting better.

Bee1710 · 07/12/2019 17:25

@Louh1981 thank you for sharing!! So happy to hear you have birth to a dc 💗 you had a d&c or naturally?

@rubyroost so sorry to hear what you've been through and so happy you conceived and are further in pregnancy. Hope it results in a healthy baby 💗
Im sorry but what is tfmr?

@goingtoneedabiggercar awww that's so sweet.. happy for you💗
Did you miscarry naturally at 7 weeks?

Rubyroost · 07/12/2019 17:29

Termination for medical reasons. Baby had hydrops at 12 week scan

Rubyroost · 07/12/2019 17:34

@Bee1710 also the time between periods differs for each miscariiage/ woman. If its a really early uncomplicated miscarriage I think you could have a period in time with your normal cycle. For example when I had early miscarriage, I took the day of starting to bleed as day of last menstruation and it pretty much marries up with my dating scan. I think it was about 6 weeks for one at 9.5 weeks. But after my tfmr it took over three months for body to return to normal and for my hcg levels to reduce. I had lots of heavy bleeding and then it would stop and then I'd bleed agin
Not sure what was period and what was just bleeding to be honest.

goingtoneedabiggercar · 07/12/2019 17:38

@Bee1710 I did, I was naively excited (first pregnancy) started bleeding on the Saturday, a week later and 2 scans at EPU it was all over. Aftercare at the hospital was non-existent and when I had a long awaited appointment with a consultant to discuss fertility just a few week later he told me I had miscarried due to my weight i.e. it was all my fault. That's why it took me years to try again, I also lost 6 stone although I'm still much heavier than I should be.

LouH1981 · 07/12/2019 17:42

Hi @Bee1710 thank you 😊 No D&C, I’d started to bleed naturally so went to A&E and by the time I was scanned there wasn’t a great deal left so I had the medical management and stayed in the early pregnancy unit for a couple of days. I bled for a while after though but the physical pain subsided after a couple of days xxx

AJ140417 · 07/12/2019 23:35

@Rubyroost hiya, did you say you had miscarried and got pregnant before your next cycle? How are you doing? I had miscarriage a week ago at 12 weeks then I am still devastated and wanting to get pregnant straight away. I want to have a try again this month before my next cycle arrives.

Rubyroost · 07/12/2019 23:38

@AJ140417 yes I did, I also read some research which said that those who do so have a higher chance of a successful pregnancy.
I'm doing okay currently 25 weeks pregnant, so fingers crossed for an uneventful pregnancy and successful birth x

Rubyroost · 07/12/2019 23:41

Sorry that was abrupt... I'm sorry for your loss. Have you finished miscarrying/bleeding? If so, have you had a negative pregnancy test since your miscarriage?

BusySittingDown · 07/12/2019 23:43

Hi OP, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I had a MC over 13 years ago with my first pregnancy. It happened naturally at 10 weeks.

I TTCed again after first period (as was the advice to wait for first period at the time) and got pregnant again straight away. She's now a beautiful 12 year old and I went on to have another DD who is 8.

BusySittingDown · 07/12/2019 23:46

Btw, I think the advice to wait for period was only so that the pregnancy is easier to date, not because it's dangerous.

AJ140417 · 08/12/2019 00:05

@Rubyroost yes, i did research as well but i am anxious about it. Based on my research, they recommended at least 1 cycle?!? But then from your experience, that is good news for me! I am just a bit worried if my womb isn't cleared enough from fibroids or any stuff left but at the moment, i no longer have heavy bleeding and cramps. Based on my Clue app, i will be very fertile on 16th but I guess I need to do PT and make sure it is negative. Did you do PT before trying to conceive?

Rubyroost · 08/12/2019 10:57

Yes the general advice is to taje pregnancy test, get a sensitive one too so you know hcg has cleared. The advice to wait is more to do with dating than anything else. What do you mean wait for fibroid to clear? I have had fibroids seen on scan, sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not. They shouldn't make any difference though

Bee1710 · 08/12/2019 15:15

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories and giving advice.
I've started bleeding more now. It's still not how it should be for a miscarriage I suppose as ive no cramps no clots just like a period bleeding on 3rd day I suppose.. I guess its getting there.
More confused now as after tomorrow's scan should i wait for it to happen naturally or take medical management or have surgery and get it done with.
So confused!
