we are a super close family so i cant use work as an excuse

but they have booked or us all to go away and i feel like i dont want to let them down/ waste their money / make them sad

but obviously they did not know we was trying for a baby

i have spoke with my docotr who didnt even know about zika

2 questions what would you do ?

@MeanMrMustardSeed oh yes that makes more sense! very sorry to everyone i haven't quite got the hang of this site,

do feel like its slightly going more onto the error of making a new thread rather than the topic! but looks like thats my own doing haha

Don’t worry! Good luck with trying for a baby and enjoy your holiday if you decide to go.

Chlosavxox · 29/11/2019 11:17

Honestly, zika isn't really a huge thing anymore + the Maldives resorts usually do something with their resort at night (can't think of the word for it) but it basically keeps the bugs and mosquitos away. Just wear mosquito repellent just Incase, have one month off, there's no reason you can't start trying again straight away when you get back as long as you don't have symptoms. I fell pregnant in Thailand when I was there for a month and my midwife said there's absolutely nothing to worry about Smile

Chlosavxox · 29/11/2019 11:19

India and South America have it worst and is the only place medical practitioners worry about. There's no point worrying about the Maldives because it's close to India, because Sri Lanka is close to India and they don't even have the mosquito that can hold zika.

Zika mosquitos are day mosquitos btw, wear sun cream and repellent and you'll be fine.

This isn’t even a question really...

I don’t see why going on holiday would stop you trying to conceive. I mean there’s surely a bed where your going - right !?!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 29/11/2019 11:24

FFS read the thread @CTRL

puppymouse · 29/11/2019 11:26

I might be being insensitive but honestly I can't fathom this post at all. Even if you were 40 I'd say still go. Sorry but this is such an amazing treat with your family why would you not go?

qwertt12 · 29/11/2019 11:34

Haha girls you have me in stitches!! Thanks for taking the time to chat with me!! I am sure you all have enjoying on your plate rather than talking to me for the 100th time today xx feeling much more sane thanks to you all! X

Haha girls you have me in stitches!!

Didn’t realise anyone had said anything even remotely amusing, but whatever floats your boat OP.

Tableclothing · 29/11/2019 14:39

@MIW01

I went to Turkey at 22 weeks and had a lovely time.

LH1987 · 29/11/2019 15:01

Dont be ridiculous it is a free holiday you the Maldives. Delay conceiving for a bit, you will be raising the baby for 18 years, waiting a bit really shouldn't be a problem. If you cancel, tell your family I am available.

AdriannaP · 29/11/2019 15:06

There is absolutely no Zika in the Maldives. Think there was one case literally 5 years ago. The resorts are all super clean and get sprayed every day. I have been three times (and TTC one time) and never even seen a mosquito. You should definitely go, enjoy a luxury holiday before baby!

stucknoue · 29/11/2019 15:11

When I went to the Maldives I don't remember any mosquitoes, check advice but I'm not sure if it's an issue, it certainly isn't a malaria risk. Just wait until afterwards!

qwertt12 · 29/11/2019 15:13

@LH1987 haha I love it! Yes I have defiantly decided I am going and going to wait! Very exciting thanks for all your wonderful comments x

Ps there's more mosquitoes in Italy!

IHaveBrilloHair · 29/11/2019 15:14

Haha girls.
Really? Hmm

IWorkAtTheCheesecakeFactory · 29/11/2019 15:17

Go. You’re 21. You can afford a 3 month break from TTC. And tbh. You sound like you’re benefit from both a holiday and an break from TTC.

Also, stop hahaing. Nothing’s funny. Confused

qwertt12 · 29/11/2019 15:18

@iworkatrhecheesecakefactory

Sorry about my Hahas

I always feel like text sounds so abrupt when you can’t see someone’s facial expressions I don’t want to offend any one with my “haha’s”

OP posts:
qwertt12 · 29/11/2019 15:19

@LH1987 made a little comment about her taking my place I was just being polite with the hahas

Sorry if they offend you

OP posts:
IWorkAtTheCheesecakeFactory · 29/11/2019 15:21

No. Your “hahas” are in almost every single post on the thread. Not just one post. It’s not punctuation!

MrsHardbroom · 29/11/2019 15:26

@stucknoue the mosquitoes in Italy don't carry Zika virus

IHaveBrilloHair · 29/11/2019 15:27

They aren't offensive, they are ridiculous.
You are an adult, speak like one.

qwertt12 · 29/11/2019 15:29

@ihavebrillohair

Oh dear, sorry to have upset you
