Hi all,

I am only 5 weeks pregnant (due 24th of July) with baby number 2! All went well last pregnancy (appart from horrific morning sickness from 6 - 23 weeks)

I have seen a few old threads with Ladies asking this question but would be nice to have some reassurance from other Mums to be on how terrifying the wait to 12 weeks is!

I'm so scared something goes wrong every time I go to the loo I'm checking for blood and any pains in my abdomen i feel I'm convinced something bad is happening 😭 x

Hi, congratulations all Smile! This is my first post as I was just googling similar things to your discussion as turned 5 weeks yesterday in first pregnancy. Similar to you, keep getting worried as first appointment with midwife isn’t until 9 weeks (7/01) so it doesn’t quite feel real yet with no real symptoms yet- just the positive tests. Hope you are all ok

@JackGordansMummy I don't have a date for my fist appt yet, just been told by my doctors surgery thrt I've been put in the midwifes book and she will call me in due course. Also have a call scheduled with the dr on Monday so will see what comes first!

Frustrating really, woke up feeling so bloating which is unusual for me. Hope you're feeling ok?

CKB1 · 12/12/2019 07:48

Hi,

I think I am 5 weeks pregnant. The confusion comes as I suffered a chemical miscarriage just before this pregnancy.

This will be my first, with the miscarriage I had no pain or cramps just very minor bleeding (not even as much as my normal monthly cycle). I also had very few symptoms with the miscarriage but this one I have had morning sickness, sensitive to smells, muscle aches, cramping, headaches , breast growth, and food aversions since almost conception it feels like.

The hospital wasn’t the most helpful but ultimately I discovered time is the only thing to tell you accurately. I had minor bleeding for a week and then was told to do a pregnancy test a week later which was negative.

I also have been taking a pregnancy test every week since I found out on the 29th November and checking for bleeding every time I wee.

I wish everyone on here good luck and I hope our little beans all decide to stay put. Have a nice Christmas everyone.

JackGordonsMummy · 12/12/2019 12:32

Having a horrible day of sickness can't keep anything down and just feel horrible been crying all morning because my 2 year old is asking to go out and I can't do it. Feel wochad for him the poor soul! Had to ask DP to come home early from work because I'm struggling so much.

Hope everyone else is well.

Congratulations @CKB1 I wish you all the best this time round xx

@JackGordonsMummy oh no, I do wonder if you need more help from the doctor too? You poor thing.

@HairsprayBabe thinking of you too, glad you’re getting help from the hospital hope you’re feeling better soon.

Well I’m seven weeks tomorrow if I take it from ovulation. Boobs still sore, no sickness, still tired but I’m full of a cold so could be that more than anything. Just handing on for my scan on Tuesday, I’ve not booked in with a midwife because when I went for the other scan the other week they told me to leave it till after the next one which makes me worried that they don’t think I’ll need to! There was a tiny bit of spotting again on Monday but nothing since, though every time I say it’s been clear for a few days it comes back straight after I post!

I just want Tuesday to hurry up and come, I’m so scared. I keep thinking what if they say I was never pregnant and the whole thing was a weird delusion on my part!

squirrelnutkins1 · 12/12/2019 17:49

@AliasGrape I keep thinking the same, have I made this all up and am I imaging symptoms cus I want them to be there?!? It's a real mind mess! I've got midwife appt next week and private scan on 23rd. Scan can't come quick enough!!

JackGordonsMummy · 13/12/2019 10:52

Morning ladies.

How we all feeling?

@JackGordonsMummy all the best for tonight! Hope the day flies by for you!

I feel awful today. I've had really bad bellyache ☹️ I'm HOPING it's just nerves cus I've just had a job interview. Just feeling headachy and sick now ☹️

JackGordonsMummy · 13/12/2019 11:53

Thanks @squirrelnutkins1 I hope you feel better soon go for a lie down if you can it really will help x

Thanks @JackGordonsMummy fortunately I'm off this afternoon so I can just rest. Bellyache went after going to the loo, sorry tmi! So hoping it's not bad news 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 x

JackGordonsMummy · 13/12/2019 14:08

I get terrible belly ache when I need the loo I don't go often I never have.

When I was pregnant with DS I must of been maybe 4 or 5 months and had horrific cramps I was convinced I was misscarrying and half an hour later I realised I had to go to the loo after that I was fine.

Struggling this pregnancy to go too. The Joy's!

Glad you have got some time to rest. Wish I could nap! DP came home from work yesterday so couldn't ask him again today and my Mother in law has DS tonight while we are at the scan so going it alone today. I've brought DS slide rocking horse and goals down from his bedroom to play with. Hoping along with the 2 full toy boxes already in the livingroom it will keep him amused because I can't take him out. Already been sick twice today and the nausea and tiredness are not leaving.

Roll on the second trimester x

@JackGordonsMummy sorry the sickness is so bad, is there anything that gives you a bit of relief?

That makes me feel a bit better thank you! I felt really awful but hopefully it was just nerves. I've been sofa surfing all afternoon and napping. Still feel sick but at least I'm not in pain 🙏🏻 x

AliasGrape · 13/12/2019 17:37

Good luck tonight @JackGordonsMummy

I feel quite nauseous today but I did have a dodgy tummy the other way this morning, and full of a cold and sore throat so not sure if it’s pregnant sick or ill sick. Either way I’m very glad it’s the weekend and I’m off next week! Need to do so much for the wedding which is a week on Sunday but energy levels are currently through the floor.

JackGordonsMummy · 13/12/2019 21:47

Evening all scan went well say a strong little heart beat. Was hard to get a great picture because my bowels were full (sorry tmi) so she had to find a clear csection and zoom in from there but was amazing just knowing there is definitely a little life growing inside me.

She measured me as 7weeks 5 days so EDD is now 26th of July. Likely will change again on my 12 week scan on the 10th of Jan!

Aww @AliasGrape you must be exausted working and trying to plan a wedding while pregnant I salute you ♡ xd

@JackGordonsMummy amazing!! So glad it all went well for you and so reassuring for you!

JackGordonsMummy · 14/12/2019 13:48

Thanks everyone!

Had a really bad stomach today. Also the usual nausea

I did manage to take my little boy to his JoJingles Xmas Party. Now DP is away out so just us 2 again.

The weather is rubbish not much you can do with a 2 year old but he gets so fed up in the house. Maybe need to take him to the softplay when he wakes up from his nap.

I'd love to join him but when I wake up after a sleep I feel worse so trying to just hold off till bed time.

How are you all? X

mywrencalls · 14/12/2019 14:30

@JackGordonsMummy Congrats on your scan! Smile

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm ok-ish. The nausea is manageable at the moment but making me miserable. I have to eat certain things at certain times and that seems to keep me as good as I can be right now. I seem to get sick as soon as my stomach starts to feel a little empty. But I know people have it so much worse so trying not to moan.

Getting really tired during the day, but not napping because it makes me feel sick if I do!

Having bouts of dizziness, and bouts of severe laziness Hmm can't seem to get anything done at the moment

hermionelodge · 14/12/2019 15:11

I'm the same in regards to feeling lazy. My house is a tip and it's bothering me but I can't find the motivation to do much about it! Normally I am so house proud! The tiredness gets me at abiut 7pm and that's when the nausea starts too but it passes if I lie down. Tonight is my Xmas party and it starts at 7 so this will be interesting! Also hating all my outfits due to the bloat. I just look like I've eaten all the pies and it's really making me not want to go. Feel so self conscious of it. Sorry to hear you are both suffering with the nausea. I'm just grateful to only have it for a short while in the evenings.

pottypotamus · 15/12/2019 17:56

Hi everyone! Had my Xmas work do on Friday night and there were some raised eyebrows at my refusal to do shots. My excuse that I had to drive dc very early the next morning didn't go down well.

Still very nauseous. And what's worse is I've totally gone off tea! Shock I normally love a cup of tea in the evening.

I had my private scan yesterday at 8w exactly and measured 8+2. She said there was a heartbeat but I'm worrying now because I didn't ask if it was a good/strong hb Confused

pottypotamus · 15/12/2019 17:57

Also @mywrencalls @hermionelodge I'm the same with the house being a tip. Normally can't stand dishes piled up in the kitchen but recently I just cba

mywrencalls · 15/12/2019 18:08

@pottypotamus Congrats on the scan! I know it's easier said than done but try to relax, surely she would have said something if heartbeat was slow? x

I make lists everyday of the chores I need to do, nothing gets done Hmm I'm off work until mid January so i have no excuse either. Literally doing the bare minimum to make the house appear clean on the surface!

Nausea wasn't as bad today, I'm eating two big plates of spaghetti a day with a bit of pasta sauce on. It's all I can eat Sad and it seems to work at keeping the nausea at bay. I'm so annoyed beacuse at the start of this pregnancy I was packing in the veg, brown rice, eggs, protein etc.
Can't eat anything sweet at all, which I guess is a good thing but missing my beloved morning coffees so much.
