Evening all - so, I've not been great so far at following big threads, but I wondered if it might be useful to start a FTM thread for January 2020. I'm 23 weeks today, due on 23/1. Our 'bean' is apparently the size of a grapefruit today!

How is everyone feeling? I've had a bit more energy in the past couple of days, and am daring to wonder if the so-far mythical 'easy 2nd tri' might be showing itself. Apart from massive pain in my hip when I sleep on my left, I'm doing OK!

Would be lovely to meet some other nearly mamas in the same boat.

Xx

Bump!

My DH just felt a kick for the first time. Lovely moment 😊

Heh! I'm a ftm and due on January 7th. Expecting a boy :) I don't want to be smug but my pregnancy has been so good touch wood.

I do have some rib pain and a bad back but I'm saying overall I've been doing okay.

Where about a are you from? X

crazymuseummumtobe · 26/09/2019 21:15

Hey @bluemarie87 Me too! I feel so lucky so far - didn't really get morning sickness, just a lot of tiredness. I'm just a bit amazed at how much I'm showing at 23 weeks already!

I'm in Berkshire. You?

OP posts:
bluemarie87 · 26/09/2019 21:22

Yeah every week I'm getting bigger and bigger now. It's crazy. I didn't suffer with morning sickness either - thank god. My app said 14+5 weeks to go today and that's feels really close and scary.
I'm in good old Yorkshire :) x

crazymuseummumtobe · 26/09/2019 21:40

That sounds close! Have you got much of your baby stuff in yet? We're moving house in a couple of weeks, then we'll start stocking up - exciting/scary, I can't decide...

bluemarie87 · 26/09/2019 21:44

Oh I love moving house but moving house when pregnant doesn't sound fun. Yes we have everything. Just need to decorate his room which we are doing soon. I've also nearly bought all my Xmas presents 🙈🙈 I'm trying to be organised as I can be.
What about you?

crazymuseummumtobe · 26/09/2019 22:07

Oh Lord, I haven't even thought about Christmas! 😆 We figured it wasn't worth getting much until we're moved, so apart from literally one sleepsuit and three dribble bibs, nothing yet! Best get spending...

@bluemarie87 I am due 7th January with a boy too! also had a very easy pregnancy so far, touch wood!!

bluemarie87 · 27/09/2019 12:57

@twiglet2020 how weird hey. Maybe boys are easier. You're not from Yorkshire too are you that'd be weird x

twiglet2020 · 27/09/2019 12:59

@bluemarie87 no East Sussex so pretty far!!

SquigglyOne · 28/09/2019 08:35

Hey everyone 👋
My baby boy is due 1st January - since the terrible morning sickness for the first three months my pregnancy has been going pretty well 🤞

Meeples · 28/09/2019 08:50

Hey all!
Due 4th Jan 😊 I've also had a pretty easy pregnancy so far apart from feeling pretty exhausted all the time! Not really got anything for baby yet but hoping to order the pram today 🤞

SquigglyOne · 28/09/2019 12:00

@Meeples do you know what your having?
We’ve been super organised and have most things ready!

Meeples · 28/09/2019 14:23

@SquigglyOne decided to keep it a surprise!! Well done on being so organised - we've just ordered our pram now 😀 still so much left to sort though and it's just hitting me that we're nearly in the third trimester! Eek!

crazymuseummumtobe · 28/09/2019 14:33

I've spent the morning driving around collecting cardboard boxes for moving house (God live local Facebook groups) and now have just vacuum packed loads of my clothes that don't fit... Not a long term solution, but it'll help with moving and working out how we'll have enough storage to start with... Scary!

Flopped on the sofa now, and little bean is wriggling away 😊

Hello! I keep dropping off the big threads too, have also been switching between Jan/Feb threads as I’m due 28/1/20 so odds are it could be either 😂

Unplanned first pregnancy, so I’ve been spending a lot of time overhauling my house, getting rid of junk & turning the spare room into a habitable space rather than somewhere to store junk. It’s quite exciting - planning on painting next week, then new carpet then nursery furniture. I find it less stressful to have a plan!

I’ve been feeling flutters & kicks for a few weeks but DP felt it for the first time yesterday so that was quite special for him, which was lovely.

crazymuseummumtobe · 28/09/2019 22:38

Hi @OccasionalNachos! We're planning on getting the cot as soon as we can after moving house. I do find it funny though because baby won't be using the nursery until about six months, surely? Or am I missing something?

OP posts:
OccasionalNachos · 29/09/2019 06:22

@crazymuseummumtobe that would be the plan, but I figure it’s much easier to get things sorted now & have a room ready for the baby. Somewhere to store clothes, nappies and stuff. I’m looking at getting a bedside crib like a snuzpod for the first few months.

Good to see a few people ordering prams, I have been thinking about that too!

crazymuseummumtobe · 30/09/2019 23:23

Evening ladies, how is everyone? I'm 23+4 today - is it too early to worry about reduced movement? If normally feel my little bean a fair bit in the middle of the day if I'm sitting quietly at my desk, but they've been really quiet today. Didn't get my usual sofa time this evening, which is the other time I'd normally feel them. I've been shining a light on my belly and playing music right at it, and I've had a couple of v small pops, but definitely less than usual. Should I give the midwife a call tomorrow, or is it a bit early to worry too much about this? I am on the slightly chunkier side, so belly is always a bit wobbly!

SquigglyOne · 01/10/2019 06:34

@crazymuseummumtobe I definitely have days where baby is a lot quieter than others and I’m 27 weeks tomorrow. When I spoke to my midwife about it she said they don’t really get into a set pattern until 28 weeks.
If you are concerned though it doesn’t hurt to call her - even if it’s just to put your mind at rest xx

crazymuseummumtobe · 01/10/2019 07:03

@SquigglyOne Thank you. I'm trying not to worry/get paranoid. Just spoke to DH about it, and we've agreed I'll call the mw later if today is quiet too. Have a good day, everyone. Xx

SquigglyOne · 01/10/2019 20:28

How did you get on @crazymuseummumtobe did you contact your midwife? Xx

crazymuseummumtobe · 01/10/2019 20:45

Been much better today, thank you! Felt a couple of kicks as I was eating breakfast, a few more during the day and she (she's a she this evening! 😆) is kicking away like nothing right now. Yesterday was obviously just a quiet day.

How've you been doing?
