I am 6 weeks pregnant and having very light brown spotting and freaking out. I have had 2 consecutive early miscarriages already and have the fear that it’s going to happen again! It hasn’t progressed or got worse and only a bit, any reassurance at all would be so appreciated !

I would go and get checked out. Phone your local early pregnancy / gynaecology unit and just dramatise the pain a little so that they bring you in to be scanned or checked!!!

Or perhaps poas and assess the strength of the line?

I have had similar experience so perhaps I’m extra paranoid. The bad news is that if it is the start of MC there is not a lot that can be done. The GOOD a news is that it is likely just some early prego spotting and is just a sign that little bean is stretching out and growing nicely.

Helensss · 13/09/2019 11:18

@thunderandsunshine01 thank you for replying! Yeah I will buy some tests and see what they look like and if nothing has happened over the weekend then I’ll try push for an early scan. My last 2 mc started like this but got progressively worse. It hasn’t changed since last night and praying it’s just early preg spotting! Xx

@Helensss let me know how you get on!! Everything crossed for you. Have you been to confirm with GP yet?

Helensss · 13/09/2019 12:04

@Helensss I can’t get a GP appointment until October 1st!! And I have history of ectopic &MC. Wild! Confused
If you’ve been seen by GP already you may already be on maternity ward ‘books’. Would it be worth giving them a call for advice at very least?

Helensss · 13/09/2019 13:35

@thunderandnsunshine01 1st October oh wow! I take it you’re pregnant too then! 😄 that’s crazy though, my dr will see anyone on the day you ring if you’re pregnant. How far are you? Xx yeah I might do that. I haven’t had any since this morning now, I think I’ll get some tests tonight and try and wait it out over the weekend and hope for the best x

That looks more dischargy to me I would say - Don't worry, I'm not squeamish! I would find that a little more reassuring if anything!

Yes I'm 4+6 but was told when they removed my right tube last yr because of ectopic, that I would get scanned at 6weeks to make sure it's in correct place! Not looking likely if just a GP appt is still 2 and a half weeks away aye. Your dcrs sound fantastic. All of them in my area are....questionable

We can panic together Grin

FindaPenny · 13/09/2019 14:21

@Helensss I had very similar on Wednesday... Started off pink and progressed to a kind of brown/rust staining...it started at about 11am and finished by about 8 that night. I went to the early pregnancy unit on thursday and they scanned me and found I was 6 weeks rather than the 8 weeks I had thought. They said if it continued more than a week, was red or was very heavy, I should go in again... But a one off here and there was not unusual. They also said if its not accompanied by painful cramping then that is another good sign. Good luck x

Helensss · 13/09/2019 14:40

@thunderandsunshine01 yes it’s a more reassuring colour than last night! That’s bad you can’t get seen for that long, have you tried stamping your feet?

@FindaPenny thank you for that, good to know! I think I’ll try get a referral for an early scan next week depending what’s happened by then. Thank you xx

@thunderandsunshine01 yes to panicking together also! 😂 I was with my friend when it started yesterday and she didn’t know what to do or say bless her as she didn’t understand, she’s healthily pregnant with her 2nd so doesn’t quite get the heart stopping fear!

It’s best to call 111 who will book you an emergency appointment on the same day and you will get a scan either on the same day or day after. Also avoiding sexual intercourse and exercises for now will be good as it can be a threatened miscarriage so to avoid it all together it’s better to stop any sort of activities and seek medical advice.

Lardlizard · 13/09/2019 14:59

I’m just about to go and collect my five year old form school who I had this bleeding with at 6 weeks andheavy bleeding at 33 weeks

So fingers crosssed for you
I’d try n get a scan ASAP for reassurance

LividLaughLove · 13/09/2019 15:04

I’ve had this (Also terrified after multiple losses) and it was a cervical ectropion or erosion.

Got worse after a poo or sex. Lasted ten days, freaked me out, came back for a couple of days just before my twelve week scan.

Everything is apparently okay but it’s really scary. Go and get checked out so they can look at your cervix and tell you what’s going on.

Helensss · 13/09/2019 15:17

Thanks everyone! Yeah @lividLaughLove I did wonder that as I’ve been told before my cervix is sensitive. I’ll get through the weekend and get to the drs on Monday and push to be seen, who do you think would look at my cervix? Epu just do scans don’t they xx

OP posts:
LividLaughLove · 13/09/2019 16:30

EPU looked at mine. Hope you get some answers.

thunderandsunshine01 · 13/09/2019 18:47

How you getting on today @thunderandsunshine01 xx

OP posts:
thunderandsunshine01 · 14/09/2019 10:41

@Helensss seems to have stopped again. Lots of cramping tho feeling a lil worried. How about you?

Helensss · 14/09/2019 10:56

@thunderandsunahine01 mine has stopped now so hopefully that’s it! At 5 weeks I had a bit of spotting and cramps and it stopped and my test lines kept getting darker so maybe it’s just the same thing as you’re about 5 aren’t you x

OP posts:
thunderandsunshine01 · 14/09/2019 14:46

@Helensss started again? Shall I insert a pic or is that too much Hmm
I had it at 5+5 with pregnancy before which did end up MC. Hasn’t progressed to red tho so trying to stay hopeful. Maybe I should take a test.
I’m almost tempted to book in a 6 week private scan

Helensss · 14/09/2019 14:54

Yeah go for pic I’m not squeamish at all! Fingers crossed!
I did a test today and it was a strong line so I’m trying to chill again as my discharge has gone normal colour for now

xx

In case this reassures anyone, I had a substantial bright red bleed at 9 weeks, it carried on for most of the day, was devastated. Convinced myself it was all over. EPU scanned me 3 days later and all was fine. No reason for the bleed, they think it might have been my cervix. Currently 29 weeks.

thunderandsunshine01 · 14/09/2019 15:00

Thoughts Hmm
I’m on my way out the door to get a test as we speak
