Thank you for the reassurance @Fivebyfive2! I think I’m just super lucky to have felt it, so I won’t think any more of it until much later on 😊
So happy for you that DH got to feel the baby too! Xx

@MrsEG - what a beautiful pic! I’m so happy that you had a wonderful experience.

purplefig · 15/09/2019 14:34

@MrsR16 they are great but baths do make me lazy...I literelly thought to myself the other day "I can't be bothered to stand up and shower" so ran a bath isntead Blush.

@ELW85 my headaches have totally cleared up since I've made an effort to eat breakfast, lunch + dinner and then a snack if I feel remotely hungry. How're you feeling this weekend?

@MrsEG Amazing news!!!! You did say you both had a feeling there was at least one boy in there. Twin brothers are just going to be adorable!! You should check out www.instagram.com/poppywiwt/ - she has two twin boys (and is also of the organised persuasion). Speaking of which, of COURSE you have a twins FiloFax

stormtrooperjulian · 15/09/2019 15:42

@MrsEG congrats on your two boys! Totally understand keeping the names to yourself, we've done the same, my MIL seemed a bit put out that I wouldn't make an exception and tell her what we'd chosen though.

@BostonFern glad you got the all clear for pre-eclampsia. The moving around did get quite a lot worse for me... the last few weeks have been really bad.... mostly that's due to spd though so if you're not suffering with that then you may be ok! My pelvis cracked so loudly when I turned over the other night that it woke DH up.

@LokiCat I had a scan at 7+5 and really glad I did, seeing the heartbeat made me feel a lot less anxious about it

@cupcakesandglitter I did all my maternity clothes shopping online, I'd heard that shops didn't bother stocking much maternity wear and I hate going shopping anyway.

@ELW85 13 weeks is super early to feel movement! I felt movement at 15 weeks and apparently even that was surprisingly early for a first baby

@Fivebyfive2 How lovely that your DH felt a kick!

@MrsH497 I've been taking the Tesco pregnancy support vitamins, didn't seem worth paying extra for the brand name ones when they all do the same job

MrsEG · 15/09/2019 16:11

@BostonFern Oh you poor thing! Hope you’re taking it easy and DH is looking after you!

@MrsH497 Honestly any pregnancy vitamin is fine! Folic avid and vitamin D are the most important, the rest is a bonus :)

@purplefig Thank you! Just had a good stalk of Poppy on Instagram, my twins are transverse too which apparently is why my bump is so hard and hips already hurt! Will definitely be following her! Sounds like you’ve had a fab weekend, I love a good practical day - I’ve got a big clean planned tonight ready for a fresh week! Those chips also sounds fabulous!

@stormtrooperjulian my mum has been a bit the same on the names! But she was so critical of my sisters choices she’s actually one of the last people we’d tell ha!

MrsR16 · 16/09/2019 13:45

Hiya ladies, hope you're all doing ok! I had a super chill weekend, but for some reason I am exhausted today! Baby was going like a good un last night - DH was then kept entertained by poking my belly (gently) and baby kicking back 😂😂 it was awesome to watch!

@cupcakesandglitter I found maternity clothes really hard to find on the high street! The only place I found them was H&M. I know Mothercare do some as well, but my Mothercare's really small, so there isn't much selection!

@MrsEG your scan picture's adorable! Definitely understanding with you keeping quiet on the names - DH and I are doing the same thing for the same reasons!

@Fivebyfive2 yay for DH being able to feel little Homer! It's so awesome - it must make it feel much more real for them.

@purplefig If I had a bath, I'd definitely be getting DH to run me one as much as possible! It's a lot of effort to stay standing at the moment! 😂😂

MrsEG · 16/09/2019 14:02

@MrsR16 That is too cute that baby is kicking back!! You’ve got a real mover in there!! How far along are you now? Yeah I think keeping names to yourself is the way to go if you want to avoid any judgement or ‘Oh I knew someone with that name; they were a right dick’ etc (which is what my sister would get all the time! She even had ‘You can’t call a baby that, she won’t be able to spell her own name for years’ people are just rude!)

Happy Monday everyone! Hope all are well. My twins workshop this weekend gave me the kick up the ass I needed! This morning I’ve gutted the spare room and taken a load of the old furniture in there to the tip. Also going to IKEA and a furniture upcycling place this weekend to look for nursery stuff! And I’m this close or ordering our pram - so torn between two but I think I just need to go for it! Delivery on it at the mo is late November with them not being that common/readily in stock so I just need to do it!!

MrsH497 · 16/09/2019 14:07

Hey ladies, having a worry today no real reason either think because I don't actually feel pregnant. I'm worrying every time I go to the loo worrying I'll be bleeding. Got to snap myself out of this!

ELW85 · 16/09/2019 15:01

Afternoon all!

How are we doing today?

I’ve just told my boss, and she was fine although she said “your timing is shit” (she was semi-joking).
I’ve told her I’ve got plans on how to hand my department over in my absence and she seems broadly happy. Just pleased it’s out of the way!

@MrsH497 - I had days like that in my first trimester (nice to be able to say that now!) but it’s such early days for you. I totally understand the fear because of what you’ve been through though.
Your symptoms might kick in around week 6-7 or you might not get a lot at all, but it’s all normal 😊
The ladies here have been really supportive and kept me sane when I’ve worried, but also maybe a reassurance scan at 6/7 weeks might help?

Speaking of, @LokiCat - did you decide on going for a reassurance scan? Can’t recommend them enough!

thumper59 · 16/09/2019 15:02

@MrsEG so happy for you!! Two little boys 💙💙

@LokiCat I was so happy to have an early scan. Was lovely to see baby ( who looked a lot like a baby for 8+5) and once I saw that little heart beat all my worries went away!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I had a chilled one, packed little guys hospital bag and got all his washed clothes put away 😊 7 weeks till due date today! Also got his nursery finished, just this corner wasn't complete but I've got my shelves up and a few bits up and I'm really pleased with it 😊 hope you've all had a lovely Monday!

Hi guys, had a great weekend but not a lot of signal where we were so just been trying to catch up but gosh it's moved a lot since Friday afternoon!
Checked the long awaited news tho and congratulations @MrsEG two boys wasn't my prediction but I'm so happy for you. And totally agree with Tommy and Arthur 💙💚 I also love how you have a twins Filofax haha

Sorry if I've missed any more news.
DH and I have our 20 week scan this Thursday and I CANT WAIT!!! We don't wanna know what we're having though so as soon as we walk in I'll have to tell her coz my friend said when they put the probe thing on her belly with the screen facing her, there were just these pair of balls staring at her!!
Got a lot more feeling at the weekend too, must have been all the walking and food making baby happy! 🥰

MrsEG · 16/09/2019 16:08

@thumper59 Your nursery is gorgeous! Won’t be long now until he is here and enjoying it too!

@MrsH497 Try not to worry; the anxiety is horrible but please don’t stress in to thinking there is a certain way to ‘feel’ because there just isn’t - I didn’t feel pregnant for weeks and by all accounts I breezed through my first tri really, I wasn’t sick once and other than tiredness and some food aversions I was absolutely fine. And nothing kicked in before 6 weeks, and didn’t get bad until closer to 8-9 weeks. Please do try and stay calm and just try to enjoy it; the days I felt very anxious (usually my hospital days!) I’d feel totally rotten and it didn’t help me at all! It really is rough and I feel for you, they call the first trimester the ‘lonely trimester’ and it couldn’t be more true, with how you’re feeling, the fact you aren’t entitled to any scans yet and that not many people will know yet! Try and keep yourself busy and the weeks will soon fly by.

@ELW85 Glad you’ve ripped that band-aid off as the saying goes! So nice to get it out in the open at work, considering how much time is spent there! I’m really pleased you got a decent enough reaction too (if she was joking!!). The weeks will disappear now, I feel like I’ve gone from 12 to 17 weeks in the click of a finger and I thinks it’s all the talking about it with everyone!

MrsEG · 16/09/2019 16:10

@BabySquid Ha ah thank you lovely, and enjoy your scan on Thurs!! Ha yes, it really is obvious when it’s a boy!! Maybe they can get you to look away when they are checking the legs? Twin 1 for us really wasn’t shy at all ha, she did say ‘it’s a boy’ but quickly followed by ‘..as I’m sure you can see!’ How lovely to keep it a surprise :) xx

purplefig · 16/09/2019 16:40

@MrsEG You've had an epic weekend - so organised. That is a crazy delivery timescale for the pram, but makes sense if they aren't that common I suppose. I think I'm due a kick up the arse Grin

@MrsR16 ahh those kicks sound amazing - how many weeks are you?

@MrsH497 like @ELW85 + @MrsEG both say, it's totally normal to not 'feel' pregnant early on. I felt totally normal until around week 6 and even then I just had some very mild nausea. I also wasn't sick once! Would it help you to book an early scan? It certainly felt more real for me after that.

@ELW85 does it feel nice to have it out in the open? At least your boss seemed mostly understanding...hope she has a strange sense of humour!

@BabySquid ooo how exciting! Yes definitely best to let them know to avoid a balls-in-face situation Grin.

I'm 19 weeks today...the last few weeks have absolutely flown by! I'm certainly feeling a lot of something down there, but still not convinced it's not just everything stretching out. I certainly haven't felt anything that felt like an obvious movement / tongue prodding the cheek / tickling.

PSA: Book your dentist appointments if you're due/overdue. I've just been for mine and didn't have to pay a penny thanks to the maternity exemption certificate Grin.

BabySquid · 16/09/2019 16:49

@purplefig when's your 20 week scan hun? And are you guna find out what you're having?? My movement started two weeks ago as like bubbles popping below my belly button, but now it's getting stronger, not quite kicks yet but I can tell when it's having a party in there haha sure it was doing flips Saturday morning haha

MrsEG · 16/09/2019 16:56

@purplefig My sex scan and workshop really gave me a ‘shit this is all really real!’ feeling and it made me realise how few weekends and paydays I have left!! 19 weeks, amazing - where is all the time going?! Mine is still extremely light - at the scan on Saturday I literally sat and watched as twin 2 did a somersault and I felt nothing! She said they’re just not strong enough yet but the light tickles are probably them, and to expect them to get a bit more frequent. I’d say I feel it maybe 2-4 times a day at the moment, and literally for seconds at a time. It’ll be just my luck they’re doing all their movement while I’m asleep! When is your 20 week scan now? And hurray for free dental appts, I’m long due a scale and polish!

Bump feels huge today by the way, I am also getting quite the fat face!! It was very itchy on the sides yesterday so I think it’s grown overnight! 17 weeks with transverse twins and the belly is real haha!

MrsH497 · 16/09/2019 17:18

Thank you ladies knew you'd all understand my random worry! I'm exhausted but only tomorrow to go then I'm off until Tuesday!

Really can't decide whether to have an early scan I know someone who did saw heartbeat and then miscarried. Think I'll see how each week goes, not next week the week after is midwife appointment which isn't that far away really x

purplefig · 16/09/2019 17:30

@BabySquid mine is next Tuesday - I can't wait and yes we're definitely going to find out if we can! I'm not sure if the feeling I'm having is like bubbles popping...but it's definitely...something?! So hard to know when it's your first!

@MrsEG Your twin bump is so lovely - and all autumnal in that lovely jumper! God yeah...when you think of it in terms of weekends and pay days! AGHH!! Grin need to get my butt into gear. I'm sure I'm feeling something, but it just doesn't feel like popcorn popping / bubbles / itches etc. Interesting you watched them somersault and didn't feel it though - I guess it won't be long before you do start to feel them, especially with two in there!

@MrsH497 only you know what is best for you, but I would say the statistics show that once you've seen a heartbeat your chances of a miscarriage go down. It's whether or not you'd find that comforting or it would make you more prone to panic. x

LokiCat · 16/09/2019 18:01

Hi all :) hope you've had a nice Monday!

@ELW85 yess, I just booked one in for Sunday then we're thinking of going to a Japanese restaurant nearby for dinner after 😊 I'll be 9+2 by then, so will hopefully see an actual baby! I was starting to feel worried again today, so I thought I'd just book it for peace of mind.
Interesting theory re Capture, I didn't even think of that! I'm wondering if the DI's terrorism case is going to come back and bite her, because she relied heavily on the CCTV so there must be a link there.
Omg how exciting that you're feeling some movement!! It must be so surreal. It must be great being able to tell your manager now, starts feeling more real once you can tell others about it.
Hope you enjoyed dinner last night, I love Mexican food!

@cupcakesandglitter @MrsEG @purplefig @stormtrooperjulian @thumper59 thanks for telling me about your experiences. I'm glad I've booked myself in for an early scan. I'll hopefully be feeling a lot calmer by Sunday evening 😊

@Fivebyfive2 awww how amazing that DH got to feel Little Homer and to actually see movement through the skin 😍

@MrsEG beautiful scan photo and lovely bump! It must be so exciting feeling the light movements. Loving the jumper as well.

@MrsR16 aww that must be so nice for your DH and for the little one to be kicking back!! How amazing. I can't wait to experience all that!

@thumper59 your nursery is so lovely! Such a cute little corner.
Wow 7 weeks till your due date, I'm so excited for you!

@MrsH497 I was literally in your shoes a few weeks ago and didn't feel pregnant at all. I was constantly poking my boobs to make sure the soreness was still there.
Some symptoms kicked in about a week ago, when I was almost 7 weeks. It's understandable to feel worried. I've been trying to keep as busy as possible to keep me distracted and make time go faster. As others have recommend, could an early scan make you feel better?

@BabySquid haha that's hilarious re balls on show situation! I didn't realize it would be that obvious straight away 😂 I hope the next few days fly by for you till your scan!

@purplefig wow 19 weeks! How exciting! Time must feel like it's flying.
I'm glad you enjoyed The Capture! I can't wait till tomorrow's episode!
Ah good tip about the dentist appointment! I got my exemption certificate at the booking in appointment, so will definitely be putting that to full use Grin

Have a brilliant evening all!

MrsR16 · 16/09/2019 18:18

@MrsEG I certainly have! 😍 I'm grateful for it though! I'm 26+5 today and worked out that I should be able to start mat leave (albeit bank holidays and annual leave) 10 weeks on Wednesday! 😊😊 ooh that's exciting you've had a productive day! And close to ordering your pram too 😊 Your bump is super amazing!

@MrsH497 don't worry! I think all of us had days where we didn't feel pregnant at all. I genuinely had no symptoms other than tiredness for most of my first trimester!

@ELW85 I hope your boss was 100% joking! Always nice to have support hey 😂

@thumper59 beautiful nursery! Only 7 weeks to go, goodness! That'll fly by!

@BabySquid woop woop! Another one for team yellow! I'm excited for you! 😊

@purplefig 26+5 today! It's absolutely flying by... I can't believe you're 19 weeks already!

@LokiCat trust me, you'll be there before you know it!

MrsEG · 16/09/2019 18:53

@purplefig I know! We all commented on his little somersault as it was so awesome - he appears to be a spinner whereas his brother was just kicking his arms about! But when I said ‘it’s so weird I can’t feel that’ she reminded me even now they’re still only the size of two grapefruits, and that’s for head body legs and arms, so they’re not very strong yet. They look so big on screen you forget how teeny they are! The tickles are probably when they just reach an arm or leg close enough to my belly to feel it!
Ha I’m sure your 20 week scan will kick you in to planning overdrive - I even got a baby bouncer from FB marketplace yesterday and picked it up tonight (here’s a pic) - I was suddenly all WE NEED THINGS! WE CANNOT DELAY GETTING THE THINGS ANY LONGER!

@LokiCat enjoy your scan! The last one I had under my first consultant was 9+5 and they definitely looked like little babies, it was amazing! Enjoy it :)

@MrsR16 10 weeks! That is so so close!! With the Xmas run up too I bet it will fly! Yep can’t wait to get the pram now - I’ve sent the two I’m deliberating on to DH with my pros and cons lists and he is now going to choose ha!

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 6!
MrsR16 · 16/09/2019 19:13

@MrsEG such an adorable bouncer!! 😍 I must admit, I'm still fairly petrified about the whole labour thing and then when we get home, as we'll have this brand new human which we have sole responsibility for... it terrifies me! But I know that it'll be ok - I've got an awesome support network which is great. And then I remember you're having two!! 😂

MrsEG · 16/09/2019 19:34

@MrsR16 Ha oh god I know!! I freak out about it all the time - but I try and remind myself millions have done it before and will again! I'm sure we'll all do just fabulously - and if not, the mistakes are all part of the fun haha! First time I changed my nieces nappy I put it on the wrong way round!!

MrsR16 · 16/09/2019 20:11

@MrsEG I'm sure we will 😊 and having you guys right there will help too!

I may have just stubbed my little toe so hard it actually bled! 😂😂 what a numpty...

ELW85 · 16/09/2019 21:02

Evening all!

@MrsR16 @MrsEG @purplefig - it feels absolutely wonderful to tell people, and I definitely think time will fly now that we can actually talk about it to the outside world 😊
Unfortunately though, she was at best, half-joking.
It’s because I have to integrate a department across two heritage companies and I’m meant to then be leading them, so I do have a lot on. But I did point out to her that I’d always have some massive thing to deliver, so it’s never the ‘right’ time.

@purplefig - I cannot believe you’re that far along now! How exciting! Is next Tuesday your scan or tomorrow?

@LokiCat - I hadn’t even considered the DI was a part of it! Maybe if we fuse our theories...😂
How are you feeling now? I’m sure your scan will be great, and statistically after 8 weeks the risk of anything going wrong decreases hugely, so hopefully the scan is a everything you need ahead of your 12 week scan to put your mind at ease 😊 xx

Fivebyfive2 · 17/09/2019 07:32

Hi all!

@MrsEG, love your bouncer, it looks fab! It's weird how sometimes it's like a switch goes and it's like 'must sort everything NOW' 😂

@ELW85, I sympathise with the work situation. But they'll just have to deal! That's the conclusion I've come to over the last few weeks. My work are very good in so many ways, but they're not organised at all and just keep saying they wish I didn't have to go off! Still have no idea what the real plan is for cover or if I'm getting a maternity package or just statutory... Apparently I'll find out more in October?! I've done all I can, gave in my matB1, emailed with my dates and my maternity proposal, helped put an ad on for maternity cover... So it's up to them now!!

Hope every one has a good Tuesday! Bake off tonight 🙂
