What is pregnancy nausea like?

I dont usually get nauseas, but when I do it's nothing like this. It's hard to describe and I cant pin point the difference. It's like its dragging on and on and making me feel a bit hot too. I've been getting it for the past 2 nights and it just clicked so I thought I'd ask the more experienced! I've not really had any other pregnancy symptoms other than a weird period. I got my period rather early last month (6 days) which was unusual. It wasnt as heavy, but still resembled a period. It usually starts on the 5th pretty much every month and will last 6 days. Last month, it started fine on the 5th, and then again on the 30th?? Anyway, any answers will be appreciated!

Not sure as I didn't have sickness but best thing to do is take a test

McHelenz · 13/08/2019 06:03

It's like hell if I'm honest, I vomitted loads too. just constant and mouth always felt full of saliva.

You do need to do a test though.

I had very mild pregnancy nausea - I’m not usually a sicky person so don’t have much comparator, but it was just a constant feeling of discomfort/stomach pressure, like when you’re very hungry. It felt like vomiting would relieve the pressure, although I was never actually sick.

Take a test if you think k you might be pregnant.

Mine was like travel sickness. It came over me in waves. Horrid.

Luxembourgmama · 13/08/2019 06:20

Like a Hangover

HerSymphonyAndSong · 13/08/2019 06:24

Mine is like a hangover, or the end of a stomach bug where you aren’t sure whether you’re hungry or going to be sick again

eurochick · 13/08/2019 06:24

Mine was also like travel sickness.

Starlight2004 · 13/08/2019 06:29

Depends if you have just a little bit of nausea or have it really bad but yes.. like a hangover where it comes in waves and you just don't know what to do with yourself. You feel better for a short while after vomiting sometimes then it comes again....oh god those were dark days

BikeRunSki · 13/08/2019 06:30

It’s the mist awful, enveloping, overwhelming felling. Watery mouth. Churning stomach. Intensely queasy. Dizzy. Tired. Heavy limbs.

hopefulhalf · 13/08/2019 06:30

Yes travel sickness or hangover.

fallingasleeprightnow · 13/08/2019 07:16

I constant feeling of ‘bleugh’ for me from the moment I woke up, to the moment I went to sleep and when I woke up in the night to pee, it hit me straight away. The sight/thought of most food repulsed me and turned my stomach.

Ginmonkey84 · 13/08/2019 08:45

It’s absolute hell if I’m in honest. A constant hungry empty feeling all day long for me. You force yourself to eat to relieve it but it doesn’t work and it’s just pants. Sometimes being sick gives you a bit of relief but then it comes straight back again. Bleugh

Pomfluff · 13/08/2019 09:52

Same as above, constant hunger pangs that were bordering on nausea. If I didn't eat something immediately to calm my stomach I'd feel much worse. I was never sick though, just a constant queasy/hungry feeling that improved around 14 weeks but didn't go away completely until 20 weeks.

I was also very bloated and could feel pockets of air moving through my intestines (gross I know, so relieved I'm not pregnant anymore).

SparkyBlue · 13/08/2019 10:52

Like a constant hangover

Angelinthenightx · 13/08/2019 13:36

Mine was also like travel sickness ,felt sick and lasted days at a time.im now 27wks & still get it at times.

MsSquiz · 13/08/2019 13:40

Mine was like hangover sickness - you know you need to eat to feel better, but you can't because eating makes you throw up. Constant saliva in my mouth and retching. I spent about 6 weeks eating a slice of toast each morning (took about 30 mins to eat!) and just drinking sparkling water. I lost almost a stone.

crazycatbaby · 13/08/2019 13:52

Like a hangover/travel sickness. Comes in waves, I'll feel hungry and empty and my mouth starts tasting strange. Will have to eat something but will inevitably throw up 🤢

ChikiTIKI · 13/08/2019 13:52

I am 6 weeks pregnant and when I eat sweet things I get a horrible taste in my mouth that won't go away. I feel sick and tired in the mornings until I have been up for a few hours and eaten a decent amount of food.

Last night I slept 7:30pm-6:30am :)

L012345 · 13/08/2019 14:14

Constant travel sickness here. Not actually being sick but feel sick for what feels like all day every day so far and I’m 8 weeks. Any one found anything that helps?

DerbyshireGirly · 13/08/2019 15:05

I find I've got a lump in my throat most of the time, on the verge of being sick but never actually doing it. I'm sure I'd get some kind of temporarily relief if something actually came up, but no!

crazycatbaby · 13/08/2019 16:30

@L012345 I can't decide if cyclizine is helping or not, or just making me sleepy Grinif I feel poorly during the day, sweets or butter mints, and a fizzy drink. Not the healthiest but that seems to help the most. Still sick every day though 🤢

L012345 · 13/08/2019 16:52

@crazycatbaby thank you, my doctor refused to prescribe anything because im not actually being sick. I’ll try the sweets every so often. Is anyone else feeling lightheaded/dizzy at times?

Croquembou · 13/08/2019 16:57

Constant unrelenting nausea. I just feel ill all the time.

Such fun.

crazycatbaby · 13/08/2019 17:07

Ah ok @L012345 I didn't know that some doctors won't prescribe them if you're not being sick, I'm sick every day and combined with having a sick phobia I'm struggling! So think he was quite sympathetic and prescribed them no bother.

L012345 · 13/08/2019 17:11

My last pregnancy the gp prescribed them but must just depend on who it is 😔 unfortunately this one said they try to avoid it unless I am actually throwing up, I understand but this feeling constantly is driving me crazy especially with working and having 2 children already 😩 I hope it works for you xx
