Good point @rubyroot, I'd didn't think about it that way. I'm 29 (almost 30) and so is dh so I was thinking of chromosomal issues as a random mutation, but you're right that could also be a sign of something, eek!

Avocuddles · 24/08/2019 17:24

@janey15 thanks, I've just been reading numerous threads that say they're notoriously unreliable so going to try to ignore it. I'm pretty certain on my dates due to ovulation testing - i think I tested positive on 9DPO so I don't think it can be any later than that, I'll try to stay away from them until my scan at 7 weeks, I'm just feeling panicky (like you and so many others ) because I'm coming up to the point when I had issues last time round. Positive pants on!

janey15 · 24/08/2019 17:37

@Flyfisherlady so sorry you've been ill SadDo you feel better after being sick or does the nausea persist? I don't want to actually be sick but the unending nausea is draining. That said I've been ok since lunch - I went bland with a posh m&s veg pasta ready meal and chips Smile

rubyroot · 24/08/2019 18:28

@Dimblebimble as I said age counts. If it happens to be chromosomal at 29/30 perhaps it is just bad luck for you. Had you been 40 then chances are you have other eggs with chromosomal issues... that's why I said it depends on age.

rubyroot · 24/08/2019 18:34

@Avocuddles I did a clear blue round about the same time and it came up with a book icon. I took that as a sign not to test again and waited for my scan.

Women have different amounts of hcg and perhaps your hcg is not quite at the 5 week measure of the test, that doesn't mean things aren't okay. Or perhaps as you say the test is just unreliable.

rubyroot · 24/08/2019 18:37

So this is the third day I've hads headache, it's almost constant with a couple of hours break a day. Anyone had this. How often would you take paracetamol. I only had two yesterday, I darent take any more

fnej01 · 24/08/2019 18:44

@Avocuddles I was speaking to the EPU nurse last week and she said the CB weeks they are more often wrong than right and in her opinion should be banned, for the amount of unnecessary stress they cause ladies. She was quite vehement about it.

Sorry to hear about your headache @rubyroot. I took a couple of paracetamol a day at the height of the cold last week. I did see someone recommending that 4head roller that you can buy for headaches?

I am fed up with being constipated so am trying fybogel which says safe in pregnancy. Even if it just gives some momentary relief I will be grateful. The joys eh! Hope everyone is ok, am a bit behind with all the posts x

janey15 · 24/08/2019 18:54

@rubyroot I suffered dreadfully with headaches that lasted weeks throughout our fertility treatment and paracetamol never really helped I'm afraid. I'm a headachey person anyway and ibuprofen is usually the only thing to help but obviously can't be taken while pregnant or going through fertility treatment οΏΌ Sorry because it's miserable.

@fnej01 I'm going to try fybogel tonight! I took it for 10+ years for my ibs until it started working too well if you know what I mean! Fingers crossed it relieves some of my pains because I'm getting fed up!

rubyroot · 24/08/2019 18:55

@fnej01 I might treat myself to a couple in that case then. I have no idea if it's pregnancy related or linked to my tooth infection. I'm a bit worried as it's pretty constant and I've not really suffered with headaches during pregnancy before. But I spose if I'm not taking any pain killers...

I think ill treat myself to a couple of paracetamol. I only had two yesterday and none the day before.

rubyroot · 24/08/2019 18:56

@janey15 I don't really suffer with headaches so this is unusual for me. Kept me up all night the other night. I'm probably worrying over nothing.

Mistymeow · 24/08/2019 18:58

@Dimblebimble I’m so pleased to see you here. We lost our little ones at the same time and I was wondering how you were getting on. I have everything crossed for you!
@Avocuddles the clear blue digital are completely unreliable and get really bad press on mumsnet for causing anxiety. If you are still stressed I would see if you can book an early scan.
@Lilimum7 I’m very sorry, that is horrible news. Please see Dr Shehata if you can.

Sorry to be self indulgent but I’m just over 7 weeks and have my EPU scan on Wednesday when I’ll be 8 weeks. I’ve had the tiniest bit of brown cm just on the tissue. It’s upset me. I’m on holiday in the countryside and am eager to relax. Could the progesterone pessaries cause it? I know they say brown blood is old blood but for me my miscarriages started with brown spotting so it’s making me nervous.

rubyroot · 24/08/2019 19:08

@Mistymeow sorry to hear you have brown cm, that must be worrying. There's many women who have had it on here and been fine. I hope this is the case for you. Not self indulgent at all.

janey15 · 24/08/2019 19:10

@Mistymeow I have heard loads about pessaries causing spotting although it never happened to me. The usual advice is to use the 'back door' and see if it stops. I really hope it's all ok. I'm sat here with niggling side pain that I had at the start with my miscarriage so I understand how you're feeling Sadxxx

rubyroot · 24/08/2019 19:12

@Mistymeow I don't know anything about progesterone, but a quick Google flagged up quite a few posts where women had brown discharge from oessaries, so let's hope it's that

fnej01 · 24/08/2019 19:14

@Mistymeow it hasn't happened to me but I think the pessaries can irritate your cervix and cause a little bleeding. Do you alternate between front and back? If not might be worth considering. Hope you manage to relax and enjoy your break.

@janey15 hope we both get some relief

@rubyroot hope you feel better soon.

TinyPaws · 24/08/2019 19:22

@Catconfusion @Avocuddles I totally get what you mean, I'm coming up to the point where my first stopped developing and am really anxious. So glad your scan went ok.

@Mistymeow Not self indulgent at all! Fingers crossed it's just the pessaries irritating your cervix. I've had some bleeding too, both brown and red, and I'm on utogestan vaginally. I've been told this one can't be used rectally. This didn't happen in my last pregnancy when I was on cyclogest rectally.

Mistymeow · 24/08/2019 20:19

Thank you @fnej01 @rubyroot that’s really helpful. I’ll try β€œthe other end” and see if that helps.

@janey15 thanks for the advice and sorry you’re having some worrying pain, I hope it eases soon.

@tinypaws thank you. It’s all so horrid isn’t it, all you can do is wait it out. I do feel better though and I guess if it happens it happens, nothing I can do. I hope you have a positive scan soon

Hopefully I can enjoy the rest of my break! It’s nice to know, in the middle of nowhere, I can pop on here for reassurance x

coconutlatte44 · 25/08/2019 08:38

Hi @Mistymeow
I’m sure it won’t stop you worrying but I have had brown blood with both my mc and my current pregnancy, at around the same time as you. In fact I spotted more this time around than I did my first time which was my mmc. I think it’s quite possible that it’s just something my body does around that time of pregnancy to clear out anything remaining in there. I was just as freaked out as you, assuming it was history repeating itself, but a scan showed a healthy little blob!! Hope you can manage a bit of relaxation. 😊

janey15 · 25/08/2019 10:22

Morning all, my cold has really developed and I'm feeling crap this morning. My nausea was virtually non-existent yesterday which worried me but feeling quite queasy this morning and all the snot isn't helping 🀒

Today I have technically beaten the length of my last pregnancy. Next milestone is my EDD on Friday Sad

Hope everyone is ok mentally and physically today xxx

ChikiTIKI · 25/08/2019 19:07

After my doctor appointment last week I got a letter in the post a couple of days later inviting me to a booking in appointment at the hospital. Not heard anything about an early scan though (the receptionist was going to call). Do you think the hospital said no so they've just left it?

I would call the GP surgery to ask but they will be annoyed with me for calling which will make me feel bad.

Flyfisherlady · 25/08/2019 20:36

How are my anxious pregnant post miscarriage people? Just to say thinking of you all through what is actually just quite a shitty yet lovely yet shitty time

Bluebelltulip · 25/08/2019 20:56

@janey15 sorry you aren't feeling well, well done on reaching this milestone. My thoughts are with you for Friday.

@ChikiTIKI could you ring the hospital if you don't feel the GP surgery will be helpful?

@Flyfisherlady how are you doing? Since telling DD1 about this pregnancy she has become very clingy to me which is not fun in this weather. DD1 wasn't used to being away from me when I had to go into hospital for a week when DD2 was poorly so I think she thinks a new baby means me staying in hospital for a while again.

Avocuddles · 25/08/2019 20:58

Hi @Flyfisherlady - you sum it up nicely! I'm ok thanks, had a nice bank holiday weekend with family visiting making the most of the sun. Nervous as not really having any symptoms other than achy boobs....

@janey15 congrats on making it to the milestone, hope you are feeling a little more relaxed.

@Mistymeow hope you enjoy the rest of your break, we are of course always here if you need a talk but hopefully you'll manage to have some time where it's not constantly at the front of your mind.

To everyone else - hope you're having a good weekend xx

Flyfisherlady · 25/08/2019 21:06

@Bluebelltulip, oh gawd.. poor you. poor DD1! Just makes me cross that miscarriage is a trauma that affects a whole family & yet it’s rarely spoken of. I mean, you get the pads & mesh pads from the hospital for after birth... no one gives you that for a miscarriage. It’s like even hospitals think it’s not even worthy an ailment of a free fanny pad!

@Avoncuddles pleased you had a nice one.

Symptomless today (achey boobs) which adds an anxious sheen on what should be a pleasant day.

Gawd, I’m sounding bitter. But I’m quite alright really.

Beaglemum93 · 25/08/2019 21:21

At what point will pregnancy become less stressful? I'm 23 weeks today but have had reduced movements, I've had some but more gentle and less frequent than usual. I've called the PAU and they've told me to come down at 10pm and they'll check he's ok. I feel like I've barely been away from the PAU and I've only had access to it for 5 weeks...
