Thanks everyone πŸ’œ we finally got home an hour ago... I'm exhausted and nothings really happened.

Waiting for the consultant was a bit of a waste of time, he didn't really comment at all. He wouldn't say what he thought the mass was or what they would need to do if it was a pregnancy sac. The nurse was much for informative and helpful and just seemed to explain things a bit better.

So, I'm pregnant, too early to see a heartbeat (the nurse said she wouldn't have booked me in this early, which is interesting), pregnancy is in the right place, all fine so far. The downside is they don't know what this mass is, so I'm back for another scan next Friday (my birthday πŸ™„). The nurse said they're not really worried about the pregnancy and even if they don't see a heartbeat next week, that's not their main concern, they just want to see how this mass progresses or not. They aren't doing bloods because the pregnancy in my uterus would skew the figures.

In the meantime, I am to watch out for the common signs of ectopic and get back in touch ASAP if they start.

Not really sure how to feel 😒 going to stop dating the pregnancy now. By lmp next Friday I'm 7 weeks so will just keep that in my mind that maybe it is too early.

@sadtoday21 @Catconfusion @Bluebelltulip @rubyroot @janey15 @fnej01 @Avocuddles hope I didn't miss anyone x

VenusStarr · 22/08/2019 14:12

@Beaglemum93 sorry I did miss you, thank you x

I'm at home, in my comfy hoody, eating pizza, watching netflix and will cuddle the cats this afternoon xx

Bluebelltulip · 22/08/2019 14:16

@VenusStarr your afternoon plans sound perfect. I'm glad the nurse was more helpful, seems like there aren't any concerns about the pregnancy in your uterus which is good (what can be seen at this stage varies a lot). I hope you scan next week identities what the mass is, and I hope it's not an ectopic pregnancy, sorry you have to go back on your birthday.

fnej01 · 22/08/2019 14:38

@VenusStarr glad you got some answers from the nurse. As others have said there is a real variability in what you can see early. Your afternoon sounds perfect - try and relax, and look after you x

Frillyfarmer · 22/08/2019 14:59

Oh @VenusStarr I'm so sorry you're left in limbo. I have everything crossed that the week goes by quickly and uneventfully and that you get to see a hb next week and the mass is explained away without issue.

@InDreamland thank you. I'm embracing positivity now - I'd be utterly heartbroken if anything happens now so I might as well be positive and try to look forwards. I've just found out another friend with recurrent MC is now 10 weeks with her third so I'm excited I've potentially got a pregnancy buddy!

Sending lots of love to everyone who has commented on my scan - I'm sorry I'm in and out today and haven't read everyone's updates yet xxx

Navy123 · 22/08/2019 15:06

@VenusStarr sorry your scan caused so much stress, that sounds horrible. Fingers crossed it all works out ok, so annoying that the scan is on your birthday though! Hopefully it'll be a good birthday present.

Thanks all for the good wishes. Scan went okish, measured 6+4 when I should be 7+4 though which I'm stressing about. They tried to be reassuring and have discharged me but I'm not sure how I feel! Did see a hb which is good. Will book a private scan for a couple of weeks time and see what's happening then. They also said to go see doctors for something to help the nausea as I'm not eating/drinking.

Lilimum7 · 22/08/2019 15:33

Well ladies I made it over here don't think I'll be staying long. I'm 15dpo and got a very faint bfp this morning, which is probably not great news for a healthy pregnancy. But today I'm pregnant

Congrats @Lilimum7 wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months

Avocuddles · 22/08/2019 17:02

Tentative congrats @Lilimum7. Really hope this is the one after everything you have been through x

@Navy123 great news on seeing the HB. Private scan sounds a good idea. I've been told no early nhs scan available here unless you're actively bleeding so went ahead and booked a private one this morning for 4th September when I should be 7 weeks. Why does time move sooooo slowly in early pregnancy?!

@VenusStarr I hope your next scan goes well and that the concerns from today are unfounded. Please look after yourself in the meantime, lots of rest and relaxation I hope x

Bluebelltulip · 22/08/2019 17:08

@Lilimum7 gentle congratulations, fingers crossed for you.

@Navy123 good news on your scan.

I'm still feeling quite tired, I didn't nap with DD today and am now regretting it. Hoping my energy levels pick up soon.

VenusStarr · 22/08/2019 17:25

Thank you everyone πŸ’œ not sure the pizza was a good idea, feeling horrible now 🀒

So, I googled and its apparently called a heterotopic pregnancy (if the mass is a baby of course), which is really rare in natural conceptions. There's every chance the uterine pregnancy can survive, even if I needed surgery to remove the ectopic / mass. Holding onto that and hoping that perhaps this little bean implanted later despite my early ovulation 🀞 there is literally nothing I can do but just wait...

@Navy123 glad you saw a heartbeat but sorry you're feeling worried by the dates being out πŸ’œ hopefully it's something and nothing. Early pregnancy is so hard.

@Avocuddles glad you have a scan booked

@Lilimum7 good to see you here. Please try not to worry too much, today you're pregnant πŸ™‚ hoping this is it for you xx

Navy123 · 22/08/2019 17:48

@Lilimum7 tentative congratulations - I really really hope this one sticks for you. You deserve it!!

@Avocuddles I know time is going so slowly. Hoping to get a scan in another 2 weeks which will drag! Especially with feeling so rough too. Our area is the same with bleeding the only way to get nhs scans. Seems odd that it's so different in different places.

@VenusStarr thanks, hoping it's a combination of late ov, late fertilisation and not quite accurate measuring. It's so tiny it can't be that accurate!

DH is off to get me some cyclizine - epu said to call docs as I can't even drink let alone eat. Amazingly she got me a telephone appt and within 30 mins I had a prescription - in our area that is unheard of! I was expecting a wait of at least a week! Really hope it helps, poor DS is feeling quite neglected and confused why mummy won't shift her arse off the sofa.

Beaglemum93 · 22/08/2019 18:19

Congratulations @Lilimum7! I hope this is the one that sticks for you.

Glad to hear you saw a heartbeat @Navy123, try not to worry about dates as they are so inaccurate in the early stages, a heartbeat is great news.

@VenusStarr hopefully your next scan will show good news. Sorry it's on your birthday.

Hope everyone's doing well, I've been so bad at keeping up with the thread recently. Sorry for anyone I've missed and congratulations on the good scans.

Loveprosecca · 22/08/2019 18:59

Hi everyone can I join?

Squiff70 · 22/08/2019 19:45

Tentative congratulations @Lilimum7. Great to see you here - long may it continue!

@VenusStarr I'm so sorry you're in limbo like this. I hope your next scan goes well and that this growth is nothing to worry about. Keep us posted.

@Bluebelltulip Congrats on reaching 20 weeks, that's amazing!

@Beaglemum93 How many weeks are you now?

@Frillyfarmer fantastic scan pic!

Sorry I'm not replying to everyone individually but I am reading and watching.

My 12 (well, 13) week scan is on 19th September, so a whole month to wait which will be tough but i'm getting really good care so far. I'm under consultant-lead care now because of my previous losses and because I'm carrying twins and he will apparently do a c-section at 36 weeks which takes us right to the end of February. I'm praying they're not delivered on the 29th and be born leap year babies!

Squiff70 · 22/08/2019 19:48

Hi @Loveprosecca and welcome!

Beaglemum93 · 22/08/2019 19:56

@Squiff70 I'm glad to hear you're getting good care so far. I'm 22+4 now.

Welcome @Loveprosecca, how far along are you?

Squiff70 · 22/08/2019 20:02

@Beaglemum93 wow, that's brilliant :) How are you feeling?

Loveprosecca · 22/08/2019 20:34

About me
Age 31 had a pregnancy loss in December, pregnancy was not planned but was happy. I have now came off the pill 1st Augut tc baby no3.

Mistymeow · 22/08/2019 20:56

@VenusStarr gosh that sounds stressful but I’m glad the nurse was helpful. I’ve not heard of that type of ectopic. It sounds like they are keeping a very close eye on you. I really hope it all works out. I hope you feel ok x
@Navy123 great news about the heartbeat. I can understand the worry about the measurements but really they just can’t accurately measure at this gestation. Lots of babies β€œcatch up” by the 12 week scan. Good idea about the private scan.
@Lilimum7 that looks exciting! I would say due to the number of losses you have had you should ask your GP for progesterone pessaries. My surgery prescribe them to women diagnosed with recurrent miscarriage. I really hope this is it for you!

TinyPaws · 22/08/2019 21:07

Sorry for not replying to everyone individually I'm reading everything but tired and short on time tonight.

@mistymeow I'm ok ish, thanks for asking. The bleeding stopped but I'm really anxious about my scan next week. Keep having horrible thoughts about previous scans during and after my previous miscarriage. Trying to enjoy being pregnant again but the anxiety has mostly taken hold the last couple of days. Also having some cramping which isn't helping the worries!

@Lilimum7 So lovely to see you here, really hope this one is here to stay. Any chance you ovulated later than you think?

@VenusStarr Sorry the scan didn't relieve your worries, it sounds like there's still a good chance of a positive outcome so hoping for that.

tinatsarina · 22/08/2019 22:02

@VenusStarr fingers crossed there's more answers for you. Someone I know had a cyst when they were pregnant which concerned them but it's been good news so far for them. Could it be a cyst?

Frillyfarmer · 22/08/2019 22:05

@Lilimum7 tentative congratulations and I hope you get to stay here and that this is your rainbow xxx

Newbie21 · 23/08/2019 01:18

Welcome to the new graduates and congratulations.

@Navy123 that's great they saw and heartbeat but totally understand that at this early stage the anxiety is still there. Booking another scan and getting the reassurance at that scan that all is developing as it should will hopefully help.

I'm 16 weeks today and it's our wedding anniversary :-) so went for a scan and look at the greeting we received... naughty little thing! (Also including a more polite shot)

VenusStarr · 23/08/2019 06:39

Thanks @Navy123, the sonographer didn't spend much time at all looking at the uterine pregnancy. She showed us the sac but not long enough for us to really take it in.

@tinatsarina I think a cyst is a possibility but apparently I have a ring of fire which is more commonly seen in ectopic pregnancies. But they didn't rule anything out. The nurse said they work backwards from the worst case scenario.

@TinyPaws thank you, I hope so. Sorry you're feeling anxious, that's understandable, sending hugs x

@Mistymeow I think I'm in a bit of shock to be honest. I'm not sure what to think about it. Any excitement I had for this pregnancy has gone, which makes me sad.

Thank you @Squiff70 and @Beaglemum93.

Glad your scan went well @Newbie21

Hope everyone is OK today. Feeling totally flat. Dh and I are going away for a few days next week, so hoping a distraction will help. X
