SCANS! Sorry Shock

VenusStarr · 21/08/2019 21:02

Haha! Thank you @rubyroot 😊

coconutlatte44 · 21/08/2019 21:02

Great news @Frillyfarmer and @janey15. @janey15 I measured 3 days behind on my first scan at 6+4 and then 3 more days at a scan just past 8 weeks, but by 12 week scan had made up 4 of those days.

Good luck tomorrow @VenusStarr.

I am still struggling with food and feeling generally crappy after work, constantly feel gassy, bloated and uncomfortable! Still waiting for the β€œbest” trimester to take effect but really not loving it despite being so grateful to be here. I thought I was going to handle pregnancy so well but I guess I had no idea what it really involved.

Mistymeow · 21/08/2019 21:25

Great news about all the positive scans! I’m not keeping up very well so I’m sorry not to tag anyone individually.

@Navy123 and @VenusStarr will be thinking of you! I’ve just turned 7 weeks but am trying not to think about my scan which is next Wednesday.
@InDreamland feel a bit better today and now annoyingly worrying about β€œlosing” symptoms. Actually I think I just ate more today which is helping the nausea. I also have to take a long tube and it makes me really groggy in the morning.
@TinyPaws been thinking of you. How are you doing?

My dh is once again having a sympathetic pregnancy! He’s been going to bed really early with me and is off alcohol and coffee. It’s quite sweet. He has a little belly so I keep telling him he’s showing already Grin

tinatsarina · 21/08/2019 22:38

@VenusStarr @Navy123 good luck tomorrow we're all thinking of you

Frillyfarmer · 22/08/2019 06:48

@Mistymeow πŸ˜‚ that's so funny. My DH seems to be drinking for both of us at the moment!

janey15 · 22/08/2019 07:31

Good luck today @VenusStarr xxx

fnej01 · 22/08/2019 07:43

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for all the well wishes - yesterday turned into a mad day. Hosp appt in London, then back to work in Essex and then travelling up to northampton, so didn't get much chance to reply to all of your loving messages and was exhausted last night.

@Navy123 Sorry you are suffering so much with nausea. Good luck for your scan today

Welcome @Starcrossed0511 I love the nick name. Are you on anti-coagulants for the lupus? I have APS so am on heparin/aspirin combo?

@TinyPaws so sorry you have had some bleeding. How are you doing now? Are you taking progesterone?

@rubyroot Now the cold has subsided boobs really tender again (possibly from too much prodding πŸ˜‚). Exciting that we are similar dates.

Thank you for the good wishes @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue

@VenusStarr Good luck for the scan today. I hope your cold is improving. Mine is getting better day by day

@moonpeace Advice around the pessaries seems variable by consultant. I have been advised I can come off them anywhere between 12 and 24 weeks. I understand your anxiety about coming off them but I think the general opinion seems to be they don't do much passed 12 weeks. In my head I am thinking I might stay on them until after I am weaned off the steroids at about 16 weeks. But as am only 9 weeks a way to go yet! I think the fragmin is probably the most important part of your treatment now, but I completely understand your fears.

@Frillyfarmer Sorry to hear about your dizzy spell take care of yourself.

@UnicornsandRainbows1 Beautiful scan and congrats on the boy.

@InDreamland Hope that you are doing ok and enjoying some shopping

@janey15 Congratulations on the scan. Don't sweat the dates your first scan baby is so tiny that the margin of error is huge.

@Frillyfarmer Beautiful scan picture. Well done for going on your own. I would've been terrified.

@Mistymeow DH having a sympathetic pregnancy made me chuckle.

As for me so very relieved to be on new territory and 9 weeks with a heartbeat as this is a new milestone for me. The first in 5 pregnancies. The steroid side effects are awful but are now seeming much more worth it. I realise I'll be back in panic by next scan in 2 weeks, but momentarily I am going to embrace a bit of @Yukka Style and put my positive pants on. Today I am pregnant!

Sorry to anyone I missed, it was a mammoth catch up x

InDreamland · 22/08/2019 08:31

@sadtoday21 the anxiety is still there, operation 24 hour knicker watch is still going strong unfortunately. Just still cannot believe this will end well despite the healthy scans, low risk results from Harmony and combined tests and being 14+2. I think after 6 years since starting TTC and 2 mc's I'll not believe it until have a healthy baby in my arms at home. I am trying to be positive and having a few moments now where I am daring to dream but then I stop myself for fear of jinxing it. How are you today?

@Flyfisherlady that's funny, wish I had the guts to do that. Only once have I spoken up and asked for a seat even because I just couldn't take it anymore especially when I was standing so close to a priority seat that became free but someone else plonked themselves in it. Thankfully another lady also insisted that person let me sit down.

@VenusStarr operation knicker watch will continue for a while yet. It's totally normal. Actually, for those ladies further along than me have you stopped operation knicker watch yet? If yes when?

@janey15 that's fantastic news on your scan!

@Frillyfarmer congratulations on the scan! So so lovely to hear all was as well. How are you feeling now? Reassured and positive or still a bag of nerves like me?

@rubyroot how is your tooth?

@fnej01 congratulations on your positive scan too.

@Navy123 @Catconfusion sorry you're feeling so sick. My nausea is back again this morning. Was fine until I went into the kitchen this morning and now feel like I'm going to vomit on the tube - just taking some confidence that I won't because I haven't actually properly thrown up all pregnancy yet, just feel like rubbish instead. Hope it eases up for you.

InDreamland · 22/08/2019 08:41

@Mistymeow that's so sweet your DH is sympathising. Try to remember that symptoms come and go. Hard to tell yourself it's normal but in general it is.

@VenusStarr @Navy123 good luck with the scans!!!!!

@coconutlatte44 I'm with you on the waiting for the best trimester to kick in. Still tired and nauseous. Fx it comes for both of us soon.

@InDreamland I had forgotten you had to Ttc for so long. We are more than 4.5 years so far and the pressure I feel for this pregnancy to work out is unreal πŸ™ Infertility is the most painful thing I've ever experienced, even worse than losing a parent which might sound ridiculous but it's true. My DH is so happy and looking forward to the future but I can't stop the worry. I'm petrified of going through another mc - I don't feel like the same person since it happened in January.

Sorry, sorry - going to look for my positive pants again...

Bluebelltulip · 22/08/2019 09:00

Congratulations on your scans @fnej01 and @Frillyfarmer.

@InDreamland I'm still on knicker watch, I did it all through my other pregnancies too. I like JoJo too wearing some cropped jeans from there today, could spent a fortune on stuff for DD in there though.

I'm 20 weeks today!

tinatsarina · 22/08/2019 10:18

@janey15 your worry is understandable. My partner keeps saying everything's ok but I'm like how do you know! You don't! But like you said positive pants need put on πŸ˜€

Avocuddles · 22/08/2019 10:19

@fnej01 (and anyone else injecting) how are you finding the anticoagulants? I'm pretty bad with needles and haven't found the courage it to do it myself yet in either pregnancy - DH does it for me first thing each morning before I put contacts in! I slipped and fell down the stairs this morning so am expecting some impressive bruises on my thigh / bum to come out later. Was initially panicking about the impact on the pregnancy but I didn't hurt myself too badly and from what I gather at this early stage it should be nicely protected from any bumps or falls. Think I'll need wrapping up in cotton wool if I make it past the first trimester as I'm pretty accident prone....

@janey15 an older relative who experienced infertility and miscarriage told me that she still carries it with her every day even though over 30 years have passed and she has three adult children and a grandchild. I guess none of us will ever be quite the same person, but hopefully once we have a healthy 🌈 rainbow it'll be a less significant part of our make up than it is now. There is absolutely no need to apologise for not feeling positive - the joy of this group is that it's a safe space to express exactly how you feel....

@Bluebelltulip congrats on hitting 20 weeks - halfway there!!!!! x

VenusStarr · 22/08/2019 10:54

Not great news for me. Pregnancy / gestational sac and yolk sac in the right place, no dating given, she didn't spend long on that.

But I also have a suspected ectopic near my left ovary. It might be a growing fibroid or baby, they couldn't say. Waiting to see a consultant to see how they want to proceed.

Either way, it's not great news given I should be 6+3. Even by lmp I should be 5+6 so should see more.

Feels like history is repeating itself, with the added extra of potential twin pregnancy but one in the wrong place, πŸ’”

Been here 2 hours so far...

fnej01 · 22/08/2019 11:07

@Avocuddles I don't mind the injecting so have just been cracking on with it myself. I seem to have good weeks and bad with how much I bruise myself doing it.
Hope you are ok after your fall! Sounds like you might need to be wrapped up in cotton wool

Thanks @Bluebelltulip - congrats on the 20 weeks a big milestone

Bluebelltulip · 22/08/2019 11:09

Sorry to read your update @VenusStarr I hope you are not waiting too long for the consultant and they can tell you more about what's going on.

rubyroot · 22/08/2019 11:10

@VenusStarr hang in there, I know my friend was of similar gestation ( almost 7 weeks) yolk sac seen and she had to go back a week later and there was a heartbeat. Yolk sac is a good sign.

Avocuddles · 22/08/2019 11:12

@VenusStarr thinking of you and hoping you don't have to wait long for answers xx

fnej01 · 22/08/2019 11:16

@VenusStarr so sorry to read this! Thinking of you! X

Catconfusion · 22/08/2019 11:24

Oh no @VenusStarr that sounds really distressing. I hope you get some answers soon. I really hope it’s just too early to see baby and the second mass is not an ectopic. I know someone who was 6 weeks and the heartbeat wasn’t visible and it was fine.🀞xxx

janey15 · 22/08/2019 11:26

Oh no @VenusStarr I hope you get some answers soon. Waiting is the worst. Is your partner with you? As others have said there is still hope but it's an awful thing when there's uncertainty. We're all thinking of you xxx

sadtoday21 · 22/08/2019 11:54

@VenusStarr I really hope you are ok and you get some answers soon. Thinking of you xxx.

Beaglemum93 · 22/08/2019 13:12

Sorry you haven't got any answers @VenusStarr and I really hope that you don't have an ectopic! Fingers crossed it's just too early for a heartbeat.

Congratulations on getting half way @Bluebelltulip!

I have been to the PAU three times now to get swabs to check my waters aren't leaking because I keep getting trickles of watery discharge (sorry TMI!) and luckily all is still ok. Why can't my body just be normal? I stress enough when I don't have worrying symptoms. I truely believe my anxiety won't stop until he's here and healthy.
