Hi all! We've just found out were expecting again at 38/39! I didn't think I'd be doing this again so close to 40!! I'm going to be the oldest mum at every antenatal class, baby group etc going aren't I?? 😩
I'd really like to connect with other mums-to-be out there....any takers?

I'm 40 tomorrow and 37wks with dc4. I still feel about 18, and have actually had the easiest and healthiest (so far) of all my pregnancies, the others were aged 21, 29 and 31.

When I had my middle 2 lots of mums were mid to late 30s.

Rememberallball · 14/07/2019 18:45

I’m 47, 28+3 weeks with twins (my first children but DH 3/4 we also have 2 DGC aged 6&2 with a 3rd on the way) and I am most definitely the oldest at the only bump and baby group I go to in my town.

Flopsy06 · 14/07/2019 18:47

Oh wow! It's the other way round for me - my earlier pregnancies were a doddle. Had my last at 35 and felt utterly exhausted throughout.
We moved to our current home in another part of the country 2 years ago and I haven't really made any real friendships yet. I'm hoping I'll meet one or two mums closer to my age.
Happy birthday for tomorrow by the way!! 🌻

I had mine at 41 and 43. My cousin her last at 40, good friends had last at 41, first (and only) at 46, two had gaps of 13 and 15 years (same dad). So promise you won’t be the oldest!

Shmithecat2 · 14/07/2019 18:48

I was 40 when I had my ds, and I'm certainly not the oldest in my baby group!

Flopsy06 · 14/07/2019 19:03

@rememberallball
Thanks for your reply too! That's pretty amazing! It'll be great for your twins to have all those grandkiddies to play with. I was just a few years younger than one of my uncles and we were close as children.
I think I'm still getting used to the idea of having another!

I’m 37 does that count? And this is by far the hardest of pregnancies without doubt! 3 dc already, same as you moved to a different part of the country 4 years ago. Really hoping having another baby will help me gel with some other mums tbh, as it seems difficult to penetrate friendship groups as an outsider!
Happy birthday to @EverythingNow, my birthday was last week lol. x

Missbdhfc · 14/07/2019 21:29

I'm 24 weeks with my first. I'll be 40 in September. Based in London

Middledistancerunner · 14/07/2019 21:46

I’m 38 and have just hit 34 weeks with my twins - currently more tired than I ever thought it was possible to be.
And weepy. I’m blaming my age.
Good luck to you x

NicciLovesSundays · 14/07/2019 22:02

Im 36 and having my first baby. You definitely wont be the oldest at ante natal classes - there are lots of people having babies in their late 30's and 40's.

badfurday · 14/07/2019 22:23

I'm 39 and currently 20 weeks pregnant. Baby due 5 days before my 40th birthday, not quite the birthday I had planned!
I was really bothered about my age to start with, but now I'm just meh, who cares. As long as everything is healthy ( touch wood it seems to be) then I'm happy.

resipsa · 14/07/2019 22:41

Mine were at 40 and 44.You'll be fine 😉

mommato3 · 14/07/2019 23:07

I'll be 40 in 15 days and currently 5 weeks with my 4th...My other children are 18, 8 and 6. Helpful age 👍😂

EverythingNow · 14/07/2019 23:15

Thanks for the birthday wishes @Flopsy06 and @Lexyness Grin

EverythingNow · 14/07/2019 23:17

@mommato3 mine are 18, 9 and 8. The 8yo is helpful not sure about the other two!

Sadie789 · 14/07/2019 23:21

Had my first at 38 and currently aged 41 and 38 weeks tomorrow with number 2... I really don’t feel old at all? Most of my fiends had kids in their late 30s. A school friend who is now my consultant obstetrician is also pregnant and she’s 41 as well. It’s no big deal.

Teddybear45 · 14/07/2019 23:24

I’m a similar age to you. First baby and have a laundry list of conditions that make this a genuinely high risk pregnancy.

Froglette16 · 14/07/2019 23:37

I was 41 and 44 when my kids were born. Both natural. Don’t believe the hype! You will be fine. Just don’t skip any appointments and take all your vitamins. 😚

Em39ma · 15/07/2019 05:51

I’m expecting my first and I turned 40 in January, DH will be 46 in September. I’m 26 weeks now, we reckon when we start anti natal in a couple of weeks, we will both older enough to be the others attendees parents.

tisonlymeagain · 15/07/2019 09:22

40 next month and expecting my 3rd with my new partner (our 5th in total, he's the same age). My youngest is 12 so this all feels new!

mightymouses · 15/07/2019 10:26

Someone has to be the oldest and someone has to be the youngest. Try to put age aside and connect with the other mums on something else, even if you are different ages.

mommato3 · 15/07/2019 11:02

@EverythingNow Happy birthday 🎉🎉
No my 18 year old would probably not be either! But the other 2 will want to as will my partners 2!

resipsa · 15/07/2019 18:09

Yes, yes to trying to put age aside - I'm the oldest (by up to 12 years) in my friendship groups which developed after the children were born - I am THE only one who ever seems to think about it let alone comment on it! To everyone else you are just you!
