@becca3210 I haven’t been able to sleep either! Feel mad because everyone else keeps saying they are exhausted.

Keyboard91 · 21/07/2019 07:40

@mumof3plusbean we are due date buddies - congratulations :)

@Minimemakesthree @lonelyonee I keep crying too, over really pathetic things.

@becca3210 @nadeynade I never slept well before, but sleeping worse now. Fell asleep about 10:30 last night and then woke up about midnight, fell back to sleep eventually and then woke up at 3:30. Barely slept since. Not helping with the exhaustion 😴

Minimemakesthree · 21/07/2019 08:06

@Ella1980 congratulations!

@keyboard91 and @lonelyonee I sobbed my way through How to Train Your Dragon yesterday....I'd already cried at 2 episodes of DIY SOS but then that's not unusual. I then sobbed to my partner because it was my mums birthday and I'd had this lovely day out planned for her with one of my brother's. She doesn't know I'm pregnant so in order to cover the fact I felt like hell I just said I'd been up during the night not feeling well (which wasn't a complete lie) Anyway she then said I should stay home and rest, and my brother who is training hard at the moment for a competition said he didn't want to "catch" whatever I had....I could hardly tell him my "bug" isn't catchable!! So I felt awful lying to my mum and feeling like I'd ruined her birthday (I didn't, she went somewhere else with my brother and had a lovely day) I don't do guilt very well and so desperately wanted to tell her!!

@becca3210 @Nadeynade @keyboard91 I feel like I could sleep for a week but only seem to be able to cat nap, which I'm convinced doesn't help with the MS!

Sorry for the long post ladies 🙈

hopefulowl · 21/07/2019 09:18

Congratulations on all the BFPs! I have been reading through lots of posts in the last couple days and thought I'd join. I got a BFP on Friday! Online calculators say due 24th March.

Feels like it's not real at the moment, but reassuring to read everyone's feelings! My boobs have felt so painful that going over speed bumps when driving I have to try to hold them to stop them from moving! Also can't sleep on my front as I usually do.

Kept thinking my period was going to start because of the light cramps, but also somehow felt different.

We had been trying for a year, so we are super excited and nervous. I am already having weird food aversions and cravings. Bloated, the same as a lot of you ladies are saying - I look like I'm already showing! Confused

I keep wondering if I'm making a fuss over how I'm feeling. SO is obviously over the moon, but I don't think it's sunk in for him yet either. He said everything has changed but nothing has changed. But for me, my body feels different already!!

What excuses do you use for not drinking?
Anyone else feel like it's completely surreal?! It's all I can think about!

Minimemakesthree · 21/07/2019 09:47

Congratulations @hopefulowl! I think it's very different for men; I suppose they just have the excitement to focus on now whereas everything happens to us. Must admit morning sickness has definitely taken the shine off my excitement though 🤢 But like you I can't think of anything else, feel like everyone must know I'm hiding this big secret!

Sorry I can't suggest any excuses re not drinking, I so rarely drink nobody would notice! Although hiding the fact I now can't abide tea or coffee may take some work 😂

Crumble2020 · 21/07/2019 09:55

@hopefulowl firstly: Congrats! On the drinking point, it’s super obvious for everyone when I don’t drink (I’m known for being a wine buff). I was gearing myself up for having 1 glass at my birthday lunch as 1 glass is allowed but I chickened out. So far I have:

  1. Gone for non-alcoholic cocktails - they look the same (b-day lunch and were delicious)
  2. Made my lemonade look like G&T (short glass and add some cucumber)
  3. Claimed I was so hungover that I couldn’t possibly face another drink.
  4. Said it was a bit early in the day/ made a joke about how awful the wine was (work party started at 3..) and I’d rather drink nothing that that.
I think in the future I may go for ‘felt like having a dry day’. Also there are some non alcoholic spirits out there. Although I fine it bizarre that they charge the same as normal gin (no booze taxes surely...?)
becca3210 · 21/07/2019 10:22

@Keyboard91 sorry to hear you have had a tough time preciously hope you get the NHS scan. 4 weeks today. Ordered first baby book don't know if bit early for that but am just so excited Grin

becca3210 · 21/07/2019 10:24

Sorry I think I posted twice. Using the app rather than website and still getting used to it!

hopefulowl · 21/07/2019 11:04

@Minimemakesthree thank you! In terms of sickness I've not felt bad yet really, just keep getting strange waves of feeling nauseous, but it comes and goes. I'm exactly the same, out for dinner last night and I was sure my friend already suspects seeing as I made an excuse not to have a glass of wine! But she prob didn't even think twice about it!

@Crumble2020 thanks, those are useful suggestions! Last night I just said I wasn't feeling it and am trying to be good seeing as we were on holiday last week. No questions were asked but to me it seemed obvious as I'm usually the first to get a wine! Seems like a silly thing to worry about but there's no way I want to tell people until I'm further along.

So excited though!

Keyboard91 · 21/07/2019 12:14

@Minimemakesthree sorry you felt guilty about the birthday celebrations - will be a funny story when you can tell her you’re expecting though! Mum, can you remember on your birthday...(!)

@hopefulowl I think it’s different for guys because they aren’t feeling it. My DP gets annoyed with me one minute when I’m snappy or annoyed that I’m hungry/not hungry simultaneously, and then feels guilty that he can’t help the next.

@becca3210 I’m going to ask for a NHS scan early but I doubt I’ll get it from what other women have said. We are prepared to save and pay privately if not as I can’t wait until 12 weeks without knowing that things are okay in there. I’m not looking forward to early maternity services as had such a god awful experience with them in January. I’m actually going to use the one that’s further away if I need them this time as can’t face the closer one.

Just went for a short walk with DP - not sure if it was the humidity or what but was all dizzy by the time we got home.

Minimemakesthree · 22/07/2019 05:57

@keyboard91 that's true! I am incredibly nervous about telling my mum (and dad tbh) it's something which I feel is hanging over me!!

Sorry to hear you felt very dizzy; it's probably this heat. I'm a sun lover and usually relish the thought of a heatwave but as soon as I heard how hot it's meant to be this next few weeks I nearly cried! Don't know about anyone else but I feel like I'm constantly on fire as it is!

Also I wasn't the fittest prior to pregnancy but now I am so breathless after the tiniest amount of exercise it's really bad 😥

J291092 · 22/07/2019 07:00

Hi 🙂 we just found out this weekend that I'm going into my 5th week now. I'll be honest I absolutely think I'm in total shock and keep needing a good cry. I know we'll be great and we've spoken about it loads but were quite planning on right now! I don't know how we're gonna keep this secret for so long!!

Minimemakesthree · 22/07/2019 07:34

Aw @J291092 congratulations! Its a massive thing finding out you're pregnant, even if you are planning on it! I had a good cry when I found out and have cried a couple of times since. If you need to cry then cry 😊

Cariad80 · 22/07/2019 09:59

Morning all!
Found out last weekend that we are expecting our first child... completely shocked & dazed still but a tiny bit excited...feeling very lucky that we are...the fact I had a coil fitted, my age and that we weren't trying and it's still happened!Smile
It is showing by due date is on the 14th March...any one else share a due date?
Huge boobs and so sore mine have gone from a c to a dd!! First bout of actual sickness last night up until then I had just been nauseous and tired out...normally I'm extremely active and now barely enough energy to take the dogs out!! Told our families but not DSD shes 6 and lives with us visits mum on weekends...not 100% how we are going to tackle that one yet!!
Xx

Mrskcam · 22/07/2019 12:42

@Cariad80 I know what you mean with the shock of it happening, I was on the pill and we weren't trying infact when I thought back we literally only did it once that month as my fiancé works away! Everything happens for a reason!! Also know how you feel about the DSD situation although we only have her on weekends but relations aren't always great between us and her mum but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Not due date buddies I'm due a week or so after you 🤗

Ithoughtyouwere · 22/07/2019 13:05

Hi all!

There seem to be at least 3 different threads for March 2020 mums so I thought I’d share this post by @GingerRogers84 about the secret Facebook group in case anyone wants to join:

Hello! We have a secret Facebook group for us on this thread expecting our babies in March 2020. It's a really nice group where we can all share excitement, worries, cravings etc to our hearts content and not drive people in real life crazy with all the baby talk. grin
Send me a private message if you fancy joining the group. X

GingerRogers84 · 22/07/2019 13:16

@Ithoughtyouwere thank you! 😍 I didn't even realise there was another thread.

Lea89 · 22/07/2019 13:23

Had my first midwife appointment this morning girls, I’m currently 5+4. Still not feeling optimistic about it all until I have my scan 2 weeks today.

I just keep thinking I’m going to miscarry again 😩

Keyboard91 · 22/07/2019 14:39

@Minimemakesthree why are you worried about telling parents?

@GingerRogers84 oh I’d love to join - will DM you

@Lea89 how was the appointment? I keep telling myself I’ll feel better once I have a scan ... but I already know I won’t.

Lea89 · 22/07/2019 15:17

@keyboard91 I’m exactly the same! My scan is 2 weeks today and even if they say ‘everything looks fine’ I won’t be happy until I’ve reached that 20 week scan. I just feel like I have anxiety over it, I know I can’t control it and I’m very chilled out but when I think about it I get this rush of anxiety that comes over me.

Appointment was okay, got my baby book but that could be taken off me in a few weeks if it’s bad news again. (See, this is how I keep feeling, I feel really negative).

I just want to cry. Xx

EPSpartyof3 · 22/07/2019 19:06

Hi all,
Found out last Friday that me and DH are expecting our first. Was a lovely birthday present for him. According to the online calculators, I a, due 25th March 2020. So exciting. So far I have mostly just felt exhausted all the time along with feeling like I nee to pee every 5 minutes.
I am praying nausea doesn’t effect me as I am useless when I feel like that. My mum didn’t have any morning sickness with me so fingers crossed I am the same!

GingerRogers84 · 22/07/2019 20:17

@EPSpartyof3 I'll dm you. Smile
