Sac no fetus

I had a scan today, my last period would suggest I was 9weeks + 1 day, however when I have been today for the viability scan she said I was measuring at 6weeks, there was a sac but nothing in it. Which has worried me somewhat!! Is there anyone that's been through similar that could help me!? She referred me to my local hospital to be scanned again in a couple of weeks but now I'm all worried. What if it's gone.

Could you have ovulated later than you thought? Were you tracking? At 6 weeks there's not always anything to see. I had a scan at 5+4 and it just a gestational sac and a yolk sac. Hopefully it's something like that.

I only ever used flo app to chart when I was ovulating, and I went off the first day of my last period and tested 7 days late.. my positive was so clear an all so I just assumed I was about right for what my calculations was!

Hopefully I'm just earlier than I thought and everything is ok!

Sounds like you could be @nemsrads I tested positive quite clearly at 10dpo. Fingers crossed it's just slightly later ovulation x

Hopefully I'm back referred to an early pregnancy unit Monday so hopefully I'll be wiser then! What a nerve racking time

Could you do a summary of the dates?

Im sorry to say I would probably prepare yourself for the worst op. If you were a week late when you tested and got a strong positive then you would have been presumably around 5 weeks pregnant then. If you actually ovulated really late and were in fact seeing a really early bfp (e.g around 8/9dpo) that would still make you at least 7 weeks or so pregnant now so there should be a little embryo with a heartbeat to be seen in the sac. I'm sorry, I hope that somehow the dates are just out but I wouldn't like to give you false hope..

Ok, now I am worried. But wouldn't I have bled or had some sort of period by now? I've now missed 2 periods and still have quite a lot of symptoms of pregnancy.

So I got my positive on the 25th of June, and I was 7 days late.

Ps if we was going off dates etc I should be 9weeks and 3days... if that makes any difference but yesterday I measured at exactly 6weeks

OK I'm confused by your dates now, if you were 7 days late on June 25th then you were expecting your period on 18th June? How can you have missed 2 periods then, unless you have really short cycles?

I think you may have worked the 9 weeks part out wrong maybe as if you were expecting your period on the 18th that would put you indeed at just over 6 weeks pregnant now if you have pretty normal cycles x

My last period was on the 1st of May they are usually between 26 and 28 days and at the beginning of every month I missed last month and now I've missed this month, all this is very new and very confusing for me too.

They were irregular because of contraception up till April then they were coming ever 27-28days then I've caught on... this is where it gets complicated coz I just worked 9 weeks out from the 1st day of my last period 1/5/19... my period was due around the 16th May, but didn't arrive but I took the pregnancy test on 25th of last month due to symptoms that I was going through.

If your last period on the 1st may then the next one would have been the end of the month not the 16th may no? Maybe they were still playing up so you are less pregnant than you thought? When was the positive test? Could you have conceived closer to the mid/end of may?

@nemsrads this is so confusing! If you were on contraception till end April there is every chance you ovulated later than you thought or the egg implanted later! When I came of contraception I ovulated later the first month but then went back to a 28 days cycle after that...

Yeah I think this is the case because like I say she measured it at 6 weeks, so it works out that I've conceived at the end of May, but I'd been going off an app (flo it was called) and it was pretty accurate it told me that I was going to have a period and that I was going to be 3 days late (which I was) then it just never came. That was on the 16th/18th May..

Both scans where used.

So it was only 2 weeks between periods? I personally wouldn't trust the app as you would have been up and down in regards to your cycle as contraception only recently stopped. I think you're probably later and hopefully they will tell at the next scan. If it was beginning of may and there is nothing there I would think it's not viable. From what you've said I think your dates are just out and its later :) was it not ovulation that was due on the 16th may if you had a period on the 1st?

@nemsrads the apps really aren't accurate until you have been using them for a good few months even then 50/50, I used Flo and it didn't match up with ovulation tests when I came of the implant!

Hopefully your just earlier than you think! I had a scan due to a bleed and there was just a sac no fetal pole etc and a week later there was a baby with a heart beat! Fingers crossed for you !

I don't understand how you could have had a period 1/5 but also been due 16/5 or how you could say from April you were regular every 26-28 days when you only had one period after that. I think you've gotten confused with your dates and I hope it all works put ok for you OP.

Yeah, it always seemed really good to me :) I was using it a few months, but yeah they got me in EPU Monday but it's only 4 days later not sure what they'll be able to see.. I'm just trying to stay positive and hope the fact I've still got the symptoms of pregnancy as a good sign! Just worried I guess! X
