Hello anyone out there??
I'm 30 from the UK and pregnant for the very first time. Married, based Herts/Essex way. Am extremely nervous, have no idea what I'm doing and no idea how I should feel.
Would love to get chatting to some brits due around same time as me (29th Feb leap year/1st March) for a bit of reassurance, chats and hopefully a laugh along the way too!
Hopefully speak to someone soon...!! Bear

Rosanna543 · 03/07/2019 19:26

Oh cool, are these UK based women or worldwide?

Mumsnet is a UK site, so it will be mostly UK with the occasional expat / person who has stumbled across it.
I think pregnancy works the same no matter where you come from though Grin

Rosanna543 · 03/07/2019 20:54

Haha I'm not trying to make it discriminatory towards anyone else haha, just more wanted to see if there was anyone local to meet up with and share experiences. Dunno why I thought this was a US site, maybe some of the terminology

Smile didn't mean to imply that, hope all goes well for you

Abi58 · 03/07/2019 21:16

@Rosanna543 me!! 28 married expecting our first (had an early miscarriage last month so technically the second time I have been pregnant/got a positive test) (making me really nervous!)

Based in the Midlands. Due around the 7th March ☺️

Rosanna543 · 03/07/2019 22:03

@Abi58 awwww amazing congratulations! It's our first one too, no idea what to expect have downloaded so many apps. It's so hard not telling people yet because I want advice from my pregnant or mummy friends!

@Rosanna543 haha same 😂 yeah same here I really want everyone to know but know its for the best we wait a bit! Have you told anyone?

Abi58 · 04/07/2019 07:06

@Rosanna543 I'm feeling ok thanks. Struggling with tiredness, didn't know it could be this much so early on 😩🙈 how are you feeling?

I've been having waves of nausea, heavy bruised feeling boobs, tired, really really bloated (and a bit gassy 🙈) my skin has gone oily so I'm really shiny and it's given me loads more spots than normal...hope they calm down I want to glow not look like a teenager again 😂
What about you?

Dreams2020 · 04/07/2019 07:58

@Rosanna543 Hi there I’m based in London, due with my first anytime between the 8-11 March! I’m so excited and can not wait!

Have my first docs appointment on Monday, will be referred I assume to midwife.

Approaching 5 weeks, still have a metallic taste every so often in my mouth and all I want to do is sleep! Boobs have now started to hurt a little, feeling sensitive.

Can’t wait for my first scan 😉😊🙂

Rosanna543 · 04/07/2019 08:50

@Abi58 hey hun! We have told both of our parents and my sister but that's it. I'm considering telling work next week just in case I start getting symptoms plus I have my first docs appointment on Monday 15th, do you have yours booked?

Also in terms of symptoms, not loads, I had cramping at first, and had the odd day where I'm knackered. I had one day where I couldn't stop eating. The weekend just gone my left nipple felt raw for about three days but have calmed down. No real nausea yet, I wake up most mornings feeling a bit sicky but am not sure if that's just it being hot and stuffy right now. So not been too bad so far!

@Dreams2020 hello! Congratulations! It's so exciting isn't it! How do you not get excited? I've already been looking at baby room ideas, you get attached so quickly don't you!
My first docs is 15th but no idea what to expect. Have you got any questions lined up? I feel so naive like I dunno what to ask or say x

@Rosanna543 ah that's nice :) we're telling parents and brothers and sisters in a few weeks. :)
Is that the midwife app?
I haven't bookeda midwife one yet, they wanted to see me at 8 weeks so a few weeks off yet

Abi58 · 04/07/2019 09:11

@Rosanna543 that's great hopefully it stays like that for you 😁🤞🏻

Dreams2020 · 04/07/2019 10:53

I will tell the docs about the health issues I’ve had in the past and want to know if there is a risk of affecting the pregnancy and what I need to do to look my baby.

Apart from that I can’t think of anything else I need to know. I thin the rest of the questions will be asked at the midwifery appointment

Rosanna543 · 04/07/2019 15:40

@Abi58 I have a doctors appt on 15th and then I think I'll get referred to see a midwife. I can't wait, I feel like that will make it all a bit more real!
We told parents the day we found out, mainly coz it was their anniversary and wanted it to be a little present for them. Smile

OP posts:
Rosanna543 · 04/07/2019 15:42

@Dreams2020 oh that's good! Yeah I've done so much reading up on staying healthy but there's also a decent amount of conflicting information too so it's hard to know what's right.
I used to run a couple of times a week but now when I run my heart races like mad like I've had 20 red bulls!

OP posts:
Abi58 · 04/07/2019 16:09

@Rosanna543 ah :) I saw the dr last week and then had blood tests, deciding tonight how we book midwife.

Aw that's lovely :)

In a couple of weeks we're talking parents and siblings shortly followed by grandparents then everyone else will be after the 12 week scan

Dreams2020 · 04/07/2019 16:34

I’m sticking to walking only, no running for me until after the baby is born
😉🙂😀

Rosanna543 · 04/07/2019 16:43

@Dreams2020 Think I'll do the same, I'm really looking forward to getting back into swimming though.
Have you started thinking of names yet? Like I said it's so hard not to get ahead of yourself haha

OP posts:
Dreams2020 · 04/07/2019 17:19

haha yes I have!

I keep feeling it’s going to be a boy, don’t know why...//it’s normal and it’s good to look to the future in a positive way.

Rosanna543 · 04/07/2019 17:56

@Dreams2020 ahhh me too! I don't know either way, me and hubby have always loved a particular girls name but so stuck on boys.
I am ravenously hungry today!!!
