Pregnancy is hard at the best of times but in heat like this, it can be pretty unbearable.

As I'm sure a lot of you are, I'm struggling so thought I'd make a thread where we can all whinge and moan to our hearts content and get it all off our chests!

I'll start 😁

I'm 36+1, too hot, in loads of pain with SPD and people existing anywhere near me makes me mad!

My hayfever is unbearable and i cant sleep! Thats my moaning for now!

Whisky2014 · 30/06/2019 00:50

Yep I'm in bed with all windows open and I'm so itchy!

Dh has slept downstairs tonight so I'm missing him all though it would have been too hot in the 1 bed together.

Amelia910 · 30/06/2019 00:51

Currently 38 weeks, unbearable. I have hated being pregnant it's awful!

fonxey · 30/06/2019 00:54

I'm 16 weeks and have a constant sniff and ticklish nose which bleeds from time to time, but improved by this heat!

I hope we don't have another heat wave. I admit to not coping at all in hot weather in normal situations. I hate being hot, you can't move, i feel like i can't breath.

I also don't like these big boobs. I hate feeling them against my growing stomach and how they just sit.

Mrsmummy90 · 30/06/2019 00:55

Sorry to hear you're all struggling but also nice to know I'm not alone!

I'm also really itchy in this heat! People must thing I have fleas 🙈

35+5 can't sleep, too hot can only get comfy in one position and then that starts to hurt 😔 the list could go on!

sweetsaltypopcorn · 30/06/2019 01:16

So tired but restless legs are preventing sleep.

Whisky2014 · 30/06/2019 01:21

I've just scratched the inside on my thigh so much I've made myself bleed. But it's soooo itchy :(

Mrsmummy90 · 30/06/2019 01:23

@Whisky2014 have you tried using calamine lotion?

OP posts:
Sadie789 · 30/06/2019 01:42

35 weeks, wide awake, read the entire internet and not sure what to do now, lying next to the open door to the back garden because I’m too hot, can barely move for SPD ...

Triskaidekaphilia · 30/06/2019 01:43

I'm 36+3 and was wondering why I was itchier than ever today even though I moisturised, must be the heat! Was 30 degrees until about 8pm. Hay fever has been making it hard to sleep already, dr suggested loperamide was safest to use but it didn't work so I've given up! I managed to go outside for 3 10 minute bursts today (helping DH pick up hedge trimmings, to the lovely air con'd shop and then back again) and was soaked with sweat especially my thighs and underwear. Blush Cats have been moaning despite all the lovely ice water I've been giving them because they think we control the weather Grin Baby has been super active all evening though so hopefully that means she's enjoying it! Just staying hopeful that the forecast here of it dropping back to 21 degrees is correct. And not heat related but our upstairs saniflo toilet suddenly leaked so I'm going to be up and down the stairs all night. Apart from the PGP I have kind of enjoyed late pregnancy, but not today!

Triskaidekaphilia · 30/06/2019 01:44

And I've just heard several popping noises that I swear are coming from my bump Confused

Stroan · 30/06/2019 01:52

30w, can't sleep between the heat, PGP, nausea and heartburn. Oh and a baby wedged so high up I feel like I can't breathe.

It feels like all of my skin is uncomfortable. Does that make sense?

rach2019 · 30/06/2019 04:10

37 weeks, this weather is unbearable, i havent slept a full night in months, my neighbours are still up having a BBQ(its 4am go to bed!!), my boyfriend just told me he cant sleep cause I breathe too loudly, i breathe too loudly cause i have hayfever and my nose is blocked.
The fear of having another 5 weeks of this is killing me :(

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 30/06/2019 05:10

Whisky2014 have you spoken to a midwife about the itching? It can be a sign of a liver problem.

I’m 35+4 with a massive baby measuring 3 weeks ahead. I have PGP a and loads of round ligament pain as she is all on one side. I’m feed up but terrified about how this one is going to get out. I’m laying in bed feeling hungover without the good night out that normally goes with this feeling.

Mrsmummy90 · 30/06/2019 06:15

adding a morning moan to my original post. My 16mo dd has decided that 6am is a perfectly reasonable time to wake up.
It's most definitely not!! 😑

36+4 ready to burst. Sick of talking about pregnancy to every bugger I see.

Squeakybubbles26 · 30/06/2019 06:54

@hormonesorDHbeingadick I never thought my itch was anything harmful until I had bloods done and got confirmed I do have ICP. However not to worry you @Whisky2014 it's not as serious as it sounds (well it is serious but the internet makes it sounds worse) so if you do research it don't panic yourself! I did research and panicked.... loads!! Just ask for a blood test to be sure, and if it is the condition they'll look after you and baby will be fine don't worry!

Whisky2014 · 30/06/2019 07:23

Hi all thanks for the messages. I fell asleep not long after posting!

Ok so I did Google and did wonder if I had this itching condition.
Since waking up it's not as bad. Is the condition constant or does it come and go?

Guess I will need to speak to midwife.

Squeakybubbles26 · 30/06/2019 07:30

@Whisky2014 I mainly have the itch at night, and find it worse when it's hot however since taking tablets I don't know if that's helped I don't itch half as much. I text/called my midwife who referred me to the maternity unit for a blood test! By that evening I knew I had it and got referred to another hospital to speak to a consultant, if you were to have it they would discuss inductions with you! How far are you?

Whisky2014 · 30/06/2019 07:32

Ok thanks for info. I'm 31 weeks

IVEgottheDECAF · 30/06/2019 07:32

Whisky i think the condition is meant to start or be worse on the sole of your feet and palms of your hands if that helps at all

bondbaby · 30/06/2019 09:10

I'm really not a ranting on the internet kind of person, but so glad to be able to moan here! 26 weeks, have had a chest infection for 2 weeks which is making me feel dreadful. Antibiotics for said chest infection have given me the runs and horrendous thrush. I've woken up with a banging headache for the second day in a row, and my DP is working 12 hours today so I have to entertain my energetic 16mo by myself. Usually i absolutely love the sun, the hotter the better, but I can't bear to go outside feeling like this! UGHHHHH. Solidarity to all fellow pregnant sufferers.

Mrsmummy90 · 30/06/2019 11:10

@bondbaby hope you feel better soon! Hard enough being pregnant while having a toddler without being ill on top of it all xx

TheSweatyPregnancy · 30/06/2019 11:23

33 weeks today and I am 1 degree of heat away from becoming a liquid! Grin

Between the heat, hay fever, spd and baby using my ribs as a set of monkey bars I am pretty much ready for this to be over now.

I have really hated being pregnant. Delighted to be expecting, but the pregnancy has been a rough ride!
