no matter what your views or intentions regarding breastfeeding, I challenge you not to be moved by this amazing film...

OK, so yes its very sweet to see the baby acting on instinct like this but surely the baby is tired?

Cant make my mind up....starting to feel relieved i didn't do it

whomovedmychocolate · 25/07/2007 23:23

Piffle · 25/07/2007 23:25

all of mine found the boob very quickly within minutes while their eyes were open wide and they were just relaxed and gazing

Was perfect hoenst

PurpleLostPrincess · 25/07/2007 23:25

Well I'd never heard of this or seen the video and I think its beautiful! Seriously considering doing it with this one depending on how things go etc.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/07/2007 23:26

Yes, you do seem overwrought and hysterical cod.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One woman's Boden is another woman's breast crawl and all that.

No need to shout......

You shouldnt let things like this which are (apparently) a big nothing, wind you up so much

You'll give yourself an ulcer.

lunalovegoodasgold · 25/07/2007 23:27

whomovedmychocolate · 25/07/2007 23:32

Who's your daddy iCod?

MadAsABagOfFrogs · 25/07/2007 23:34

I did this with all 3 of my boys. All were premature and quite low birth weight but all 3 took to BFing the ducks to water and none lost any weight.

expatinscotland · 25/07/2007 23:35

This is sort of like, 'I'm not a sexist/racist/weighist, etc, BUT . . . '

TooTicky · 25/07/2007 23:41

Beautiful.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 26/07/2007 11:21

No, it really isnt expat and I'm quite ed that you could compare it to racism/sexism!!!

Cod, if you've seen it before, move on and make room for those who havent

Go bump one of your old threads that we've all seen before, you know how you often like to do

I've been feeling patronising all week, not just last night

This was in no way intended to spark a row. That is why I put as many 'disclaimers' as poss at the start of the post. I have successfully bf one child and had an absolute nightmare and gave up with another so I am totally behind people doing whatever the heck they like. I simply thought that it was a moving clip -sorry if you don't agree - plenty do.....

dont apologise mouseman.

Some folk feel like they have to be the antidote to all things breastfeeding related.

Amuses me somewhat that there are folk that wander on, and say why spend so much time on this, this is old news, free choice, blah blah blah.

Yet appear to make the effort to post the self same thing every single time. Most bizarre. You'd think they'd have got bored of doing that by now.

mouseman · 26/07/2007 12:23

Thanks VVV

this may sound weird but the vidio freaked me out. i do want to try breastfeeding but for some reason find it bit squimish. what does it actually feel like when they are latched on.think its moreof not knowing that freaks me out.dont get me wrong i really want to try breastfeeding thi lo

VeniVidiVickiQV · 26/07/2007 13:20

I felt a bit like you when I was pg with my first.

I knew I wanted to try and do it, but, up until that point breasts had always been a 'sexual' thing. So, I was quite unsure about how I would feel about actually doing it.

When the time came I was exhausted after finally giving birth, and, it just seemed right to cuddle her up and have skin to skin contact with her.

I fed her for 6 months. Second time around I was matter of fact about it. I ended up feeding DS for 2 years, and wasnt fazed at all by b/feeding in public. It does take some getting used to though. You've just got to remember that it is a natural thing to do, people cant see much of your breast anyway (if you are concerned about that).

Finally, if it really doesnt work for you, then thats absolutely okay too
