This is just basically a rant.

I'm 38 + 5 with my first baby
I finished up for mat leave 2 and half weeks ago, I'm bored, fed up, uncomfortable, easily irritable, teary... Etc (on plus side house is absolutely gleaming)

My plug came away last week, baby has dropped, I've had loads of uncomfortable braxton hicks, fanny daggers all day long, pressure on my vaj is insane, lots of wee painful crampy twinges.

I've been bouncing on my ball, I've been out loads walks, I'm having sex daily, I'm eating spicy food

And I'm STILL pregnant and this could go on for another 3 weeks 😭

Meh.

Anyone else in the same boat?

@mawof3soontobe omg yeeahhhh congratulations!!! Fantastic news. And I am also now very intrigued on how to give yourself a sweep haha

I had a few cramps last night b4 bed and then fell asleep and nothing.

Happy due date to me

Thank you! I haven't slept with adrenaline lol. Just looked back at my contraction timer app and I logged the first contraction at 1:20am so I was in labour for a grand total of 1hr50mins Shock

Mrsmummy90 · 02/07/2019 08:54

Congratulations @mawof3soontobe 🤗

cocodash · 02/07/2019 09:03

@mawof3soontobe wow that's quick!! Does he have a name yet? What weight was he? Such good news

I'm so jealous.

How did you manage to give yourself a sweep? I don't think I would be able to reach hahaha

OP posts:
mawof3soontobe · 02/07/2019 09:22

His names Bailey and he was 7lbs 7.5oz. It's quite easy if it's close to time enough your cervix should be low and easy to reach lol

TrixieFranklin · 02/07/2019 19:48

Oooo congratulations @mawof3soontobe!!!! Thanks

cocodash · 02/07/2019 20:37

After hospital appointment today they have booked me in for induction on Thursday as baby growth has slowed down.

We have a date whoohooo

Jumping on here if you don't mind. I was due Saturday - had been convinced baby would be early so I was extra grumpy about it in that heat!
I've been feeling period type cramping this afternoon, and (TMI, sorry) discharge the last couple of days - assuming plug. I really hope it's not much longer. I finished work at 38 weeks and I'm so so bored.

TrixieFranklin · 02/07/2019 22:56

Ooooo that's exciting @cocodash!
I have a scan tomorrow and then we are reassessing the plan after because nothings happening at all!

cocodash · 03/07/2019 07:57

@auntmarch I feel your pain. I finished up on thr 7th of June and I am bored out my tits.
And every time someone says "relax and enjoy it" it makes my fuckin blood boil.

The wee niggles and cramps at this stage are a mind fuck eh? Have you had a sweep or anything?

OP posts:
cocodash · 03/07/2019 07:57

@trixiefranklin what is your scan for? Is it a growth scan?

OP posts:
TrixieFranklin · 03/07/2019 09:14

@cocodash yes we've had them since 28 weeks but they cancelled my 40 week one a while ago because it clashed with my pre op appt and they didn't re book it for us but I havnt had one now for 4 weeks and will be 5 weeks by the time my 41 week section comes around next week so my midwife agreed to rearrange it

cocodash · 03/07/2019 19:07

@trixiefranklin are they scanning you as baby is on the big side or the wee side?

I've had 2 growth scans as was measuring big but every time went for them the actual measurements have brought baby back down to the average line

OP posts:
TrixieFranklin · 03/07/2019 19:37

Neither really pretty average!! They classed me as high risk because of my previous multiple pregnancy and birth where I had severe pre eclampsia so I've had growth scans as a precaution this time around but everything looks completely normal and it's been a textbook pregnancy, baby just doesn't want to come out!!!!!!
I'm in for my pre op appointment tomorrow and going to ask for another sweep because I really really don't want a section on Monday. The thought of CSection recovery with 3 year old twins and a newborn to look after is making me super anxious.

cocodash · 04/07/2019 14:30

@trixiefranklin hope your appointment goes well and you manage to avoid a section.

Its induction day for me.

I am packed, house is gleaming, I've been well fed. Got an hour to kill now b4 we need to leave

TrixieFranklin · 04/07/2019 21:44

Thanks @cocodash! How's everything going!? I hope you'll be holding your baby very soon!!!!
I had another sweep today from a senior midwife and it was piles apart from the ones last week with a student midwife.. the first was mildly uncomfortable, today was excruciatingly painful! She said it should feel like she was trying to rip out my tonsils which seems pretty accurate!!! Nothing since though, not a single bloody contraction Grin

cocodash · 05/07/2019 07:46

@trixiefranklin Got here about 4 and admitted and on ward about 5ish.

Baby was going nuts and all excited so had to be on a monitor until half 8 until they calmed down and the midwifes could get a base line heart rate lol

Then they put the pessary in about 9pm and I've had absolutely nothing interesting happen since lol

Slept pretty much right through the night thou.

Hopefully you start to feel something soon after your sweep. They really are not comfy at all. DH face was a picture last night when the mw was having a rummage up there hahahah

I've been losing my plug all day but that's about it!
Any progress @cocodash? I remember being induced last time and it took a little time to get going! Enjoy the rest whilst you can Thanks

HayleyHaystack · 06/07/2019 13:40

Can I join in? 3 days overdue so far. Oddly full of anxiety which is quite new. Not too uncomfortable physically but having all sorts of scenarios going around in my head relating to health of the baby and I can’t seem to switch them off today. I just want to go into labour so the anxiety ends for a bit with the distraction! I did hypnobirthing but can’t get in the zone today. First baby, low risk etc, I’m 35. Just feel funny today. Confused

TrixieFranklin · 06/07/2019 14:11

@HayleyHaystack ofcourse! Do they have a plan to intervene if you don't go into spontaneous labour?
I get the anxious thing completely, I just thought I'd have the baby by now and now there is loads of what ifs flying around!

HayleyHaystack · 06/07/2019 15:55

Thanks for replying @TrixieFranklin - I’ve got an app on Monday I guess to discuss a sweep again. Turned it down this week as it didn’t feel necessary but I had in my head I’d be fairly on time - what did I know?! So many what ifs! I had no idea how tough this bit would be on brain!

TrixieFranklin · 07/07/2019 02:20

Any babies!?

Moses92 · 07/07/2019 20:54

Hi guys, I had my baby boy 28th june, ended up being induced. Induction was great! 6.5 hrs labour, active labour 2.5 hrs. Hope you all get to meet your babies soon!

cocodash · 11/07/2019 03:13

Sorry I've not replied!! Been in a bit of a whirlwind

Baby girl was born 6th July at 20.11 via emergency c section. She is just perfection and doing really well at home and getting settled.

How is everyone else doing? Any more babies?

MammaToBe2019 · 11/07/2019 03:27

Congratulations to all who have had their babies! :) I am currently 37+2 and i have had enough! This heat is killing me 🥵 I've been having period like cramps for the last 2 days, bad lower back ache, feeling very sicky, shooting pains straight up my lady business when i walk and alot of pressure. A few days ago it was quite pink when i had a wee and wiped. This is my first so unsure if these are all signs of imminent labour or not? I just want my baby to be born soon, he is already measuring big! 😩
