This is just basically a rant.

I'm 38 + 5 with my first baby
I finished up for mat leave 2 and half weeks ago, I'm bored, fed up, uncomfortable, easily irritable, teary... Etc (on plus side house is absolutely gleaming)

My plug came away last week, baby has dropped, I've had loads of uncomfortable braxton hicks, fanny daggers all day long, pressure on my vaj is insane, lots of wee painful crampy twinges.

I've been bouncing on my ball, I've been out loads walks, I'm having sex daily, I'm eating spicy food

And I'm STILL pregnant and this could go on for another 3 weeks 😭

Meh.

Anyone else in the same boat?

I feel a bit "different" today if I'm honest. Can't quite put my finger on it but hopefully a good sign! 39+3

TrixieFranklin · 29/06/2019 10:23

I'm due tomorrow and bloody hot! Had cramps in the night that woke me up but they turned out to be from a dodgy Chinese takeaway Hmm
We've got all of my family over for a bbq this afternoon and all I really want to do is stay in bed with the fan on.

curiositycreature · 29/06/2019 10:52

Woke up last night with pains that were coming pretty regular. Went back to sleep thinking if it was labour it would wake me up...... Slept blissfully through till this morn

I think I’ve had that every night for about ten nights now coco. Every morning I wake up I’m mad!! It’s driving me mad.

Starting to struggle with the heat. Due to hit 30 here today. Debating getting a paddling pool in the garden that I can sit in for the rest of the day.

Sandybval · 29/06/2019 11:04

@cocodash my labour started like that! Had cramps the night before and thought I'd try and get some sleep; slept well and then woke up and they seemed to have gone, but things quickly kicked off. And yes to the paddling pool!

cocodash · 29/06/2019 18:06

God its such a mind fuck at this stage.

All day I've had on n off twinges in my back and non painful cramps. Like COME ON!!!!

Tuesday is my due date and I'm convinced baby Is going to be late.

Does everyone know what they are having?

We found out. We are having a boy (3yo twins are both boys too) but decided not to tell anyone else which has been nice.

Our little nephew is very poorly and and we have let him pick the middle name (he picked one for a girl and one for a boy) and luckily he picked lovely names for each Grin also the silver lining to not having had the baby yet is that he has a break in his chemo for the next two weeks now so we will be able to see him pretty soon after baby arrives which means the world to me. He's been really looking forward to meeting his new cousin.

Has anyone else been bombarded with well meaning texts and calls from family and friends asking when the baby will be here / is the baby here yet? It's driving me potty.

cocodash · 30/06/2019 06:13

@trixiefranklin I'm sorry to hear about your nephew but it's fab that hel be able to spend time with his new cousin. How old is he? What middle name did he choose?

We're currently team yellow but I'm convinced it's going to be a girl for some reason lol wer nowhere close to deciding names for either!

Every day I get texts from loads people asking how I am (code for are you in labour yet) even had one girl who I've not spoke to since I was about 20 weeks message and ask if any sign of baby. Lol yeah coz I'm gunna tell you Linda 😂😂

Had a madras last night to try get baby moving, have been up since 5 with heartburn and just had a big cramp pain, however am more inclined to think it means I need the toilet than a contraction hahaha

OP posts:
TrixieFranklin · 30/06/2019 09:32

He's 6 and the bravest little boy in the world! Middle names he picked are Jack and Freya.

I was up all night with contractions and ended up at the hospital this morning and am in confirmed early labour but they've sent me home because not enough was happening and I'm only 1cm. I was having really regular contractions at home and in the car but they died down at the hospital typically.

It's my due date today and they did a sweep which wasn't the comfiest thing in the world, they felt his head and said it might but hey ho fingers crossed we will be heading back later today / tomorrow in full blown labour!

We need some babies in this thread now!!!

cocodash · 30/06/2019 12:58

@teixiefranklin eeeeekkkkkkkk that is so exciting. How have you been feeling till now? Have your contractions ramped back up?

We went out a big walk this morning, and picked up a vindaloo for dinner tonight to try and spice the baby out.

Have a sweep tomorrow as well so hopefully that gets things going

OP posts:
TrixieFranklin · 30/06/2019 14:05

I had a bath and a sleep which really calmed things down but they've been coming more regularly for the last hour again so we are going to have a little walk down to the beach and see if that helps at all and then going to give the breast pump a go.

cocodash · 30/06/2019 21:38

@trixiefranklin sounds like this could be it for you!! Did your walk help?

I had sex earlier and forced down a vindaloo for dinner so am hoping that will get things on the move. Although I'm still convinced baby will keep me waiting another good while yet

OP posts:
mawof3soontobe · 30/06/2019 23:40

Think things might be starting for me too! Not getting my hopes up but very very aware of severe back pain and bh that are more than just uncomfortable now.

Mrsmummy90 · 01/07/2019 01:03

Can I join?

36+2 (technically +3 because it's after midnight) and utterly fed up. SPD is so horrific to the point that I need help getting around. Not exactly ideal when you have a 16mo dd! 🤦‍♀️

I've been losing little bits of my mucus plug for the past couple of days but I'm very aware that I potentially still have weeks to go!

Fingers crossed time flies for everyone xx

TrixieFranklin · 01/07/2019 03:11

Everything's stopped completely! Rubbish, they did say in the hospital things can stop and start so could still be a few days away Sad
Had a curry for dinner and I've done the breast pump, walked, bounced on my ball and everything else I could think of all evening and still nothing, I'm so desperate now.

mawof3soontobe · 01/07/2019 03:14

@TrixieFranklin same!!! Just woke up absolutely starving and feel a lot less uncomfy than I did earlier. So frustrated with this!!

cocodash · 01/07/2019 08:36

@trixiefranklin @mawof3soontobe that is soooo frustrating for you both!! I've been having really irregular pains since Thursday now, but not sore pains, does that make sense? Like am just aware of pain now n then.

Its sweep day today for me. Its not till 3pm thou so feel like I have all day to sit about waiting now.

Due date tomorrow

cocodash · 01/07/2019 08:37

@mrsmummy90 how are you getting on with your 19mo? Are they excited to be a big brother or sister?

OP posts:
TrixieFranklin · 01/07/2019 10:24

I feel absolutely normal this morning annoyingly!! We're off for a beach walk this morning but I'm starting to think that people are right when they say it'll happen when it happens.. grr.
I have a midwife appt tomorrow so not sure if she will give me a 2nd sweep so soon after the one I had yesterday morning or if she might have any other secret tricks up her sleeve to help.
I really don't want the ELCS they've booked me for next week at 41+1 but the only other option if things don't start themselves is an induction but they won't do that until I'm 12 days over due which seems like an eternity.

Mrsmummy90 · 01/07/2019 11:45

@cocodash she's 16mo 😊 I don't think she understands what's happening but she did kiss my stomach the other day!
Being pregnant with a toddler as well is harder than I anticipated 🙈

cocodash · 01/07/2019 20:30

Had the sweep earlier on. She said it went well? She said I'm already 1cm dilated but is sending me to the hospital tomorrow for another growth scan as bump Measuring on the big side again 🙄 she's booked me in for another sweep next Monday and if nothing happens induction on the 14th July.

Been on my ball all afternoon and nothing. No pains or niggles.

Due date tomorrow

So, massive TMI and a lot of people would probably frown... But I went cervix hunting on my own earlier. Baring in mind this is baby three for me so I'd have been 1cm throughout, I'm at least 3-4cm and very effaced and stretchy. I can feel bulging waters and was even able to give myself a bit of a sweep which resulted in a small bloody show. I spent the afternoon reading up on self checking and apparently it's safer for you to do yourself as you know how much pressure and rummaging feels okay. Makes me feel better to know what's going on in there!

mawof3soontobe · 02/07/2019 00:50

Having lots of juicy tightenings into my back now so I'm up, out of bed, in a nice warm bath to encourage oxytocin and then going to go for a bounce on the ball and do some pottering about to bring gravity into play. Come on baby!!!

mawof3soontobe · 02/07/2019 04:38

Update: contractions were every two minutes from the get go, got to hospital at 2:15 and after ten minutes of pushing he was here at 3:09. He's absolutely perfect, no stitches required, gas and air and I coughed the placenta out literally 😂 hope it's everyone else's turn soon

Saladinthesun · 02/07/2019 04:56

@Mrsmummy90 I’m a day behind you at 36+2 (due date 28th July!) I also suspect I’m same age as you (born in ‘90???)
I too have spd, it started about two months ago just in front centre of pelvis and had to stop my daily walks and workouts, which managed the pain, now it’s gone to the right sacroiliac joint and it’s bloody agony! Going on my birthing ball makes it worse Sad if I go like my mum I’ll go over two weeks as she went over with all her children but as this is my first I don’t know what my body is like!
@mawof3soontobe well done!!! I didn’t know you could self check, think I’d be to scared /freaked out haha, but I’m impressed!! Congrats on your lovely baba!

Mrsmummy90 · 02/07/2019 07:06

@Saladinthesun yes I was born in 1990 :) sorry you're suffering as well. I can barely walk these days. Dh and I went to an event a few weeks back and I had to be in a wheelchair because of the spd 🙄so sick of it.
