Hi ladies some of your songs are very apt.

When i was pregnant with ds i used to sit in bath and listen to Stevie Wonders "For one in my life i have someone who needs me" i cant think of the title.

Then when ds was 6 monts old it was "its all about you" by McFly, The words still make me want to cry now.

A radio was playing in theatre as I was being stitched up after DS was born. They placed him in my arms, and, as if by magic, the station started to play John Lennon's Beautiful Boy". A perfect moment that makes me shiver with happiness to this day.

Sandcastles, thanks soo much, even the lyrics bring a lump to my throat

"Grow Old Along with Me" by John Lennon. DH bought it the day I went in to labour with DD1. Also Pulp's "Sorted for Es and Whizz" as she was conceived when they appeared at Glastonbury.

Elvis Costello's "She" got DD2 off to sleep many, many times.

Kirsty McColl's "Sun on the Water" reminds me of wonderful days in Pembroke when DS was just crawling. We always played it as we left the car park with the sun setting. It strill transports us back to that wonderful summer.

Tiny Dancer, Elton John.

was first song I listened to the morning we discovered we were pregnant.

got turned on to it by the fabulous Almost Famous....great great scene in the coach.

i don't mean turned on erotically btw, just got into it.

whitesnake for ds1. now 18 who used to jump around with wooden tennis racket.

not helpful for your cd, but John Lennon Beautiful Boy - I know he died years ago but he clearly knew my ds (aged 10 wks) was on the way when he wrote it [vomit emoticon]
Also Take That Shine - I was heavily pregnant with DS when it came out, and he used to move around to it whenever it was on the car radio, while I used to sing to him 'so come on, so come on get it on, don't know what you're waiting for, your time is coming, don't be late'. Seemed pretty apt at 37 weeks pg!

Right at the moment (one week overdue), Tim Finn's Show Yourself. Not only is it a lovely song to sing (makes LO kick when I sing it), a line from the chorus: "show yourself to me" seems particularly appropriate at this stage...

Fill my little world by The Feeling always reminds me of my first few weeks with DD
The theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark was playing in the delivery suite as I was trying to deliver DD - now hearing it always makes me smile (and wince inwardly!)

Nanoon · 23/09/2007 23:04

Gravity by Embrace. it was around towards the end of my 1st pregnancy and for a quite awhile after he was born 3 years ago. It just sums up the journey and emotions of being born and giving birth - it still makes me cry now. We bought the CD single and its in DS's keepsake box.

chasing cars by snow patrol

a neighbour took some pictures the summer dd turned 1 and put them on cd for us. that was the track that wa splying and it was beautiful i was nearly crying the first time i heard it.

Rachmumoftwo · 23/09/2007 23:27

'What's that coming over the hill, is it a monster?'.
I can't remember who it's by, but my 2 sang it all last summer. This summer they are mainly into Mika, going around singing 'Big girls you are beautiful'. They are 4 and 5 and such cuties.

harleyd · 23/09/2007 23:30

grandma got run over by a reindeer

ds1 was pushed out to this on the radio

kid · 23/09/2007 23:33

You are my sunshine makes me think of DS. I did one of those onetruemedia clips of him to that song.

And DD sang and did sign language for Wonderful World so that makes me think of her when I hear that song.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 23/09/2007 23:41

Brown Eyed Girl makes me think of DS1 (now 15) as a baby because I used to dance around with him, singing "..my brown eyed boy.."
