I would call the EPU - see what they say. I think a lot of people do experience light bleeding x

Mondayblues7 · 07/05/2019 08:36

I had a period like bleed 5 weeks in, lasted about a week. Call EPU if you are worried, I did and they scanned me at 8 weeks. I am now 24 weeks with a healthy wriggly baby.

Epu will be able to help you. Try not to stress, your body is going through alot of changes right now.

Ellieblack1990 · 07/05/2019 09:02

I've contacted the epu and they've said they won't be able to rescan me till Friday it's so confusing because my scan was perfect everything was wear it should be and the heartbeat was there I didn't have any of these problems with my last 2 pregnancies I just can't help but worry and think the worst 😪 x

My first pregnancy I had a period-like bleed but also bad cramps and I miscarried. My subsequent pregnancy I had some bleeding with no cramps and all was well. I would say if you don't have pain then be tentatively hopeful. Good luck. Flowers

I don't mean to worry you, when I had my MMC last year. I had some dark blood and went to out of hours gp. They sent me to hosp and they did a scan and said baby did not measure up and no HB could be found. I did not have a cramps or any other symptoms other than bleeding. No clots, my body wouldn't expell so I opted for d&c a week later when they rescanned to see if any changes.

Friday is only 3 sleeps away, just put yourself on rest and monitor yourself.

Can I ask why you had a scan on Friday? Did you have some complications anyway? Xx

Mondayblues7 · 07/05/2019 10:30

How far are you? X

Ellieblack1990 · 07/05/2019 11:10

I'm 6 weeks 5days they don't seem overly concerned even tho I told them I was worried I've been back and forth because of some pain I had in the beginning and the thought I might of had an ectopic pregnancy my scan was to see if everything was in the right place x

Ok, well we're here to support you over the next few days xx

Ellieblack1990 · 07/05/2019 15:58

Thank you means a lot :) I just hope everything is okay as I'm not bleeding heavily and the blood isn't in my urine flow only when I wipe 🤞🤞🤞

I had bleeding and bad cramping at work the day after my first scan (around 8 weeks). Panicked, went home, went to a&e (who were great although a long wait). The arranged scan at EPU the next day. All ok

Now 15+5

Ellieblack1990 · 08/05/2019 18:42

I've had no bleeding today and now I've gone to the toilet had a wipe and looks like it's starting again does this look normal sorry for the pic if it's gross my doctors aren't helping and i keep getting told to wait till Friday 😭 xx

I had bleeding at 6 weeks for a few days & then this turned to brown spotting which I had for around a week but everything was fine & I am now 18 weeks. Fingers crossed all will be ok x

Prequelle · 08/05/2019 19:06

I'm an emergency gynae/female acute surgery nurse. Bleeding in early pregnancy is incredibly common and many women go on to have healthy pregnancies. We usually have a 'watch and wait' process which is incredibly frustrating but little more can be done until you get scanned again. Unless the bleeding increases considerably (soaking through pads etc) and/or you're getting a lot of pain, if that happens you should go to a&e or any acute gynae clinic your area has. From that point of view though it's mainly about making sure you are okay and many places won't/cant scan, they'll make sure you're not bleeding too much and try to manage it as well as the pain. They'll usually do a HCG too and then a repeat one a few days later.

I hope everything is Okay xx

Ellieblack1990 · 08/05/2019 19:14

I'm not soaking it even having enough blood to go on a pad just when I wipe it's there I'm getting a bit of pain in my tummy at the moment I can't help but worry with this one as my last 2 pregnancies didn't have any complications till the end and I didn't bleed I've been told it's normal for spotting and a bit of blood in early pregnancy my sister and friend had it but also when you look online it can be how a miscarriage starts when I called the epu they weren't helpful or reassuring in the slightest just there's nothing they can do till the Friday I'm happy to wait a few more days I've been panicking for so long incase I bled now it's actually happens I have no idea what to do or think xx

I'm sorry they weren't of much help, to be honest that's usually the case because there isn't much anyone can do at this stage OP - and I know how bloody frustrating and unhelpful that is because I know you just want to know what's going on and if your baby is okay. In a perfect world there would be scanning facilities 24/7 for this purpose so people wouldn't have the agony of waiting :(

You're right it is also a sign of how a miscarriage starts but about 20% of women experience bleeding during early preg, it's something that isn't really talked about an awful lot and is one of those signs that can be so ambiguous that you can't help but worry.

Because you've heard the baby's heartbeat your risk of miscarriage has drastically lowered too, so there's lots of data on your side here although I know that probably helps little. Here for you Flowers

Mondayblues7 · 08/05/2019 19:36

I had a lot more blood than that. It last about a week. I had to wear a pad.

Please don't stress yourself. The EPU are probably overstretched as it is as alot of GP surgeries send any pregnant women there for any type of illness. Got told to go there when I had an ear infection. ???

Just take it easy, Friday is day after tomorrow and you will get some answers. X

Ellieblack1990 · 08/05/2019 19:48

It was more and bright red when I first held yesterday morning but it's been like this since midday yesterday I want to remain positive because it's not heavy bleeding and fridays only 2 more days away plus seeing the baby's heartbeat a few days ago I just can't think what I've done to make myself bleed :( xxx

Prequelle · 08/05/2019 19:50

You haven't done anything at all. We don't really understand bleeding in early pregnancy an awful lot but one of the reasons we think causes it is because of all the changes happening to your body. There's networks of blood vessels down there and with all the physical changes it stands to reason that some bleeding may occur. Xx

Mondayblues7 · 10/05/2019 06:53

Thinking of you today. X

Ellieblack1990 · 10/05/2019 07:31

Thank you I've got an ultrasound booked for 8.50 fingers crossed it's positive but I'm still bleeding so I'm not getting my hopes up it's light but as I've gathered most early miscarriages start of this way thank you for all your support xx

OP posts:
Ellieblack1990 · 10/05/2019 16:38

Just an update had my ultrasound not what I wanted to see or hear today baby's heartbeat has slowed down and it's not grown as much as they wanted to they do think it's early stages of a miscarriage got another ultrasound next week to see if a things changed but my bleedings getting heavier and so is the pain I've accepted what will be is what will be now just not my time yet thank you for everybody's support xx

Oh doll, I am so sorry to read this news. It can take a while. My body didn't dispell any clots and I opted for a D&C under general anesthesia. Take some ibuprofen for the pain and grab a heat pack. Are you getting heavier? X

Ellieblack1990 · 11/05/2019 18:24

It's getting heavier just starting to go on a pad I was so hoping that cause there was still a heartbeat even tho slow there was still a chance but the pain is getting worse The worst part is they never even told me to expect the worst just sent me on my way and told me to come back next Friday 😭 I know it's happening I don't feel pregnant anymore my boobs aren't as sore and I don't feel sick i want a bath but after reading some women's comments on baths it sound quite graffic and make it move along am I aloud to take ibroprufen ? Xx
