Who else is 38 weeks pregnant and bored of waiting?

I’m 38 weeks pregnant tomorrow! Due on the 6th of May with a little girl (my first) and am now starting to feel the boredom set in! I can no longer walk far because of my sciatica and extreme fatigue, I’ve done everything prep wise for her, so now what? Hahaha Grin I have a gut feeling I’m going to be late as well which is sooooo annoying Sad so could be another 4 weeks till I get to meet her!
Anyone else feeling bored? Any suggestions what to do? How’s everyone else feeling?

Bless you, no one has answered you so will butt in it was only 24 weeks ago for me after all.

Do what you want / your body will allow... get in all those visits with friends and family... have date night dinners where you can just walk out the door as much as possible.

If you haven’t already batch cook a selection of homemade meals to freeze up ( will be a life saver later )

Binge watch tv and nap in the day.

It’s hard to enjoy because pregnancy exhaustion and pains are just awful but anothinf you can prep to make your life easier alter on or enjoy those simple walk out the door moments

They are not gone forever but leaving the House is a little more difficult once baby comes.

I did a lot of cleaning too .. glad I did as running the hoover round and will I g sides down was my limit until a few weeks ago when my guy started to sleep a little more and develops a bit of a routine.

Have you packed your overnight bag?

Newmumma83 · 21/04/2019 17:50

Sorry typing with one hand while holding baby I anothinf is meant to be anything and the other bit was hoover and wipe sides down

newmumFeb17 · 21/04/2019 17:54

I am 38 weeks tomorrow too! Same due date as you. This is my second little girl.
I feel your pain, very ready to have this baby now! I've been having contractions and Braxton Hicks on and off all week so that's even more frustrating.
I definitely forgot how hard the last few weeks are!

Nss95 · 21/04/2019 17:55

@Newmumma83 Aww Thankyou Grin ! I try to do as many walks as possible but one short one a day seems to be enough for me, haha! I’m trying to make the most of the last bit of pregnancy because I think I’ll definitely miss it a lot but it’s just so restrictive at the moment, which is making it so tiresome and dull so definitely hard to enjoy. Congratulations on the baby by the way! What did you have? How’s being a mum? And yes I have my hospital bag all prepared and by the door Smile

A baby girl! Hae you chose gender neutral clothes or gone all out pink? And names?

Nss95 · 21/04/2019 17:58

@newmumFeb17 Oh my god, no way!!! How exciting ShockGrin! I haven’t even dropped yet and am not really experiencing many Braxton-Hicks which makes me think even more so that I’m going to be late Sad I’m glad you can sympathise with me though! I hope for the both of us that we don’t have long to wait, hahahaha!

Nss95 · 21/04/2019 18:05

@Cafetierecoffee I started off gender neutral but then got far to excited on the gorgeous dresses you can buy and went all out girly in the end! Grin I had her name picked months ago, Lily, it’s my middle name and my mother’s grandmothers name so it means something Smile I haven’t told anyone apart from family yet, so it’ll be a total surprise for friends!

I'm due 8th may and totally ready for this baby to come out now!
Having Braxton hicks constantly, lots of shooting pains down below and I feel like I need to hold the bottom of my bump all the time to stop it from 'falling' if that makes any sense!
Trying to keep active but I'm so exhausted and it's been so warm the past couple of days too, it's making it even harder!
I haven't found out baby's sex so I'm so excited to finally know if I have a baby boy or girl!
Iv been offered a sweep on Tuesday so hopefully that will get the ball moving.

undercoverhero · 21/04/2019 18:42

Hiya, I'm 38+5 and am so ready for baby to be born. He is showing no signs of making an appearance tho 😕
To say I am bored is an understatement lol. This is my first baby too and I have been the most organised I have ever been in my life, hence having nothing to do now lol.
I do have a growth scan tomorrow as he was measuring small at my last midwife app so I guess I'm excited to see him again, but also anxious in case anything is up.
I'm dreading going overdue, I think I will actually lose my mind if I have another 3 weeks of this lol.
I'm sure we can all keep each other entertained 😊

Nss95 · 21/04/2019 18:44

@ftmtobe I’m really trying to make the most of these final weeks but it’s just so difficult hahaha! I’m the same as you, trying to stay active but it is very tiring especially in this weather!
I’m not really experiencing that many Braxton-Hicks yet, only occasionally.. all I have is my baby destroying my hip bones, kicking and stretching all over the place haha.
You're having your sweep on Tuesday??? That’s soooo lucky, I have an appointment with my midwife Tuesday but they’re not offering a sweep until the 10th of May so only if I go overdue Sad how annoying! I hope it works for you though!! Smile

@undercoverhero Don’t worry about the growth scan, I’ve had to have one too! My babies measuring small and estimated to be around 6lb 8 at birth Smile they do the growth scan just to check everything’s alright, mine went perfectly fine and it also made me feel a lot more confident that everything was ok with her, seeing as they check everything Grin I’m sure it’ll be fine for you! I must warn you though, you don’t really get to see much... I could barely make out a thing, just because they’re so big now!
And I totally get your dread, me too!! I really am hoping I don’t have to be induced... and I’d love her to surprise me and meet me a little earlier.
I’ve just finished building the Moses basket and washing the clothes, I’m in the exact same predicament as you... everything’s done. Hahahaha Grin

@Nss95 I was really surprised when my midwife said I could have one at my next appointment as I thought they only done them once your at your due date!
Babies head has been in my pelvis at my last 2 appointments and I have mentioned my Braxton hicks to her a couple of times too so wonder if that's why 🤔
I wish I was having a growth scan! (Although I am very grateful that everything has gone so smoothly Iv not needed one)
Lots of people I know that are pregnant atm have been having growth scans and have an estimate of their babies weight but I haven't had a scan since 20 weeks so I have no idea! My bump has always been measuring a couple of weeks smaller though so hoping for a little one lol

undercoverhero · 21/04/2019 19:02

@Nss95 yea I know, this will be my second growth scan. I had one at 33 weeks and all was perfect. He was measuring 5lb 8oz then so bang on target. It just seems he hasn't grown since I was measured at 36 weeks. I'm sure all is good, he hasn't stopped wiggling around all day!
The Moses basket is built, all the clothes has been washed, the nursery is done and house clean! I really have excelled myself this time 😂😂
Iv been so bored this past week I have been the resident baby sitter for all my working friends. Looking after numerous children all week has kept me on my toes. Just not looking forward to next week when the kids are at school and everyone else is working 😕
I'm soo ready to meet him now now, I'm just really impatient!

Nss95 · 21/04/2019 19:04

@ftmtobe Yeah, that could possibly be why then! My baby hasn’t even dropped yet Envy That must be so exciting for you, hopefully Tuesday does get things going for you!
The growth scan does make you feel a bit better once you know everything’s ok but don’t be too envious, honestly you really don’t get to see much, it’s mostly just a big blur on the screen hahaha.
I think we all hope for a small one! I’m just glad she’ll be fitting in all her newborn clothes I’ve brought her Grin

undercoverhero · 21/04/2019 19:07

@ftmtobe growth scans aren't that much fun trust me. The sonographer can be really rough handed and really digs into your stomach. I have also had to have a trace as I had reduced movements and again the midwife dig her hands so far into my pelvis I think she bruised my uterus 😂😂😂
It is reassuring however it does make me anxious and worry that something is wrong. I'd much rather everything be fine and not have the stress of spending all weekend thinking what if 😊
In regards to the sweep that I am jealous of! I have my next app on 3rd May when I will be 40+3 and I have been advised not to get my hopes up! I don't think they will offer me any assistance until I'm nearly two weeks over 😩😩😩😩

ftmtobe · 21/04/2019 19:17

@Nss95 @undercoverhero ooo no that doesn't sound as fun as I thought! I suppose Iv left the sex as a surprise, the weight can be a surprise too lol 😂
Have either of you lost your plug yet? I'm obsessing with it atm hoping to see it every time I go to the toilet 🙈 but nothing yet!

undercoverhero · 21/04/2019 19:23

@ftmtobe yea it's not how I was expecting to spend bank holiday Monday lol
I think Iv been slowly losing my plug over the last two days. If I haven't then I just have a snotty Fanjo 😂😂 again I'm not getting my hopes up as midwife told me categorically that it means sod all 😩

Nss95 · 21/04/2019 19:28

@ftmtobe @undercoverhero I haven’t lost my plug yet, no! I’m the same as you, checking to see if anything’s showed up everytime I go to the loo 😂 (I didn’t know you could use emojis on here)
And I do get what you mean, it’s much nicer just knowing outright that everything’s ok, grow scans are nice after but the worry before is awful! Luckily I haven’t had to go in for reduced movements either, that must be scary so I’m sorry to hear that, glad everything’s ok though ☺️
Also I can’t believe you’re keeping the gender secret! I’d of loved to do that but I’m far too impatient and curious 😂😂

ZoeOutdoors · 21/04/2019 20:24

I'm due the same day Smile I'm not ready for baby to cone yet though as I have a few things I want to get done. It's very frustrating though as everything tires me out and makes me ache so the few jobs are taking extra long!

ftmtobe · 21/04/2019 21:17

Not finding out the gender hasn't been easy lol! Iv been very tempted to book a gender scan a few times butt partner really wanted to wait and I know il be glad when I finally meet him/her and have that little surprise at the end! Will definitely be finding out next time though 😂

How's everyone sleeping?
Apart from needing the toilet at least once every night I am very surprised at how well I am sleeping! Taking full advantage of it (and a little nap sometimes during the day)

undercoverhero · 21/04/2019 21:21

Oh man, I'm the complete opposite! I will sleep for like an hour at a time if I'm lucky! Iv turned into a proper insomniac! The strangest thing is that I'm not overly tired in the day either 🤨 I'm just looking forward to having my body back and being able to fall asleep and stay asleep for an extended period of time lol. Probably impossible with a new born but I will give it a good go (daddy can do the parenting for a while 😜)

Newmumma83 · 22/04/2019 18:48

I had a little boy , being a mummy is wonderful , for me the first few weeks were really tough ( my friend had a kid 10 weeks after and he slept 11:00 till 5am no worries and she found it easy from the word go) but don’t worry if it is hard because once they let you sleep some and you figure out what they want it get so much easier

And the smiles and giggles later on are all just amazing 😉

I am so glad I have my baby boy x x

Not long now and your baby will be with you! Hope your all ok in the warm weather x

vitadolce2015 · 22/04/2019 19:35

Hi all can I join?

I'm due 9th may and I'm so ready for this babe to come out. Nothing happening except slightly more intense Braxton Hicks atm. Just did a post complaining about the horrid cold I have just developed, hoping he doesn't make a surprise appearance while I'm feeling this dire 🙈🤧

It's nice to read all your posts and distracting me from how rotten I feel!

undercoverhero · 22/04/2019 19:41

So just thought I'd give you all a little update.
I have had my growth scan today and unfortunately his growth has slowed down a bit. Apparently it's not anything to worry about but they would like baby to arrive sooner rather than later. They gave me a sweep there and then and have booked me in to have another sweep on Wednesday and then again on Friday. If still no baby then I have an induction booked for 10am next Tuesday which is baby's due date 😊
It's actually a relief to know I only have one more week to wait 😊

Nss95 · 22/04/2019 20:03

@undercoverhero Oh wow, that’s not the best news! Glad everything’s ok though ☺️ And that is lush knowing you’ll have your beautiful baby in the next week, I feel excited for you 😆!! Good luck to it all!
I have my midwife appointment tomorrow so I’m going to ask her if anything is progressing and what to expect to happen if it doesn’t 🙄
@vitadolce2015 ofcourse you can join in!
We can all be fed up together 😂!
I had a cold last week, being preggers and ill is horrible... I have an eye infection coming on which is just perfect ... 😒 Just think at most we all have a month left, that’s not too long I guess!
